How to clean a Hedgehog!

- In this video I describe and demonstrate how to clean an African Pygmy Hedgehog.
You will need: a hedgehog, two towels(one wet, one dry), a toothbrush(soft bristle), gentle small animal soap(optional, can just use water) and a sink or bucket.
Prepare, in your sink, a little warm water (not hot, not cold). Then add a little soap. Wash your hedgehog with the towel and toothbrush. After clean, be sure to rinse all soap off your hedgehog. Then dry in a towel.
Now you have a clean and happy hedgehog!
Despite clearly not being overly keen on being bathed, she seems so calm and comfortable. c: This is bathing your pet done correctly. Quick, painless, smart, educated, and your friend comes out clean, happy and safe. c:

Here because I saw a photo of a dirty ass hedgehog with dry skin and wanted to learn how to clean it. You brushing it with the toothbrush was the most satisfying thing.

Yeah, lots of breeders don't socialize well and sell too early. Also, lots of owners don't really know what they are doing.

I'm glad you looked up before you got one, I've heard so many stories where they'd like the sound of a hedgehog then realise how much of a responsibility they are.
You need a few weeks to tame your hedgehog but mine loves to just sit on my lap for an hour or two. He usually just falls asleep, if not he'll just potter around on me.

It's amazing how hedgehogs survive in your back garden and in the wild without having a bath! Truly remarkable! Even lions, tigers, giraffes .. butterflies somehow manage to keep clean and they don't even have access to soap and warm water. Amazing!
