Serral is Oliveira's coach, literally. He taught Oliveira everything to let him defeat all other Zerg so that he himself won't need to fight ZvZ.

I watched 16:50 multiple times at .25 speed and all i can say is the baneling nerf was massive here. As soon as the banelings get in range Oliveira absolutely shredded them with target fire

It’s so wild to see Serral play. It’s like, his dominance really comes down to a few seconds of advantage here and there. Just one toe ahead at ever step. Before you know it, it’s 10min in and he has a clear lead. Truly remarkable
Anyone else here wanting to pay money to see a cheese only match between Uthermal vs Serral?
It is truly wonderous. Just how beautifully he scouts or sets up surrounds before the enemy even fully moved into an area. It is magnificent. Or his defense, Serral just does so much with so little.
I have trouble not rooting for Serral, especially after that *clinic* of a first game, but Olivera won me over with that engagement in game 2, hugging the hatchery he's attacking to reduce surface area and throwing his cyclone and hellions into the banelings to eat them instead of the marines was the sort of wild master micro I cannot help but love when I see it.

It's hilarious really, Zerg is already at 40% wr in ZvT if you don't count Serral. The race is basically unplayable in both pro play and ladder because of Serral and it keeps getting worse because of him. Yet the guy keeps being simply better than everyone else in the world.
It's hilarious because zerg itself is just far below the other races on average even at the highest skill cap. You can always bet on the zerg player losing and have the best odds of being right regardless of who it is. EXCEPT serral. The literal god.
It's not the race. It's purely that he is just that ridiculously good. And they should just let him be a god. The only way to make him not a god is literally ruining and the race until he basically has to quit because they can't nerf the actual human.
I could never play zerg like he does. Its too hard. I'm only human and most people are. Controlling the zerg with that level of precision is just ridiculous and borders on inhuman.
Tell that to terran balance whiners, you'll feel how true ignorance be like.

So i watched the last 30 series involving terrans (non TvT), and i found that terran won 13 out 30 series. So that person actually watched the majority of videos, or did not watch them for reasons unrelated to balance, not because "terran op".
Now you say that zerg win ratio is only 40%, apparently based on what you see in videos. A search of official data make it clear that Zerg is the most successful 2023 faction, with over 50% against the other two.
So, unless Serral, by himself, can make up for the rest of the grandmasters, are you high?
EDIT: Yes, copied my own post from another thread, but it does fit here, and i think Starcraft 2 players may want to try to be impartial one of this days. Because you people are obviously not.

To give an clear example how far ahead serral is as a player compared to every other StarCraft 2 zerg.
Nearly every match you see a zerg play the odds are about 40% for the zerg to win. If you watch a video its about 40% that if you skip to the end zerg lost.
You can bet on serral to win literally every single matchup. Regardless of who its against other than other zerg which is more human slightly.
Serral will always be the favorite to win. Thats INSANE. His actual win statistics against high level players would be astounding to see.

I feel a bit bad for Oliveira in this one, knowing the story of what he's come through.
Serral is one of my favourites not just because he is dominant but because he is very consistent too. Staying at the top, is a very difficult thing to do.
I know a lot of people don't like it when a player dominates but I personally really enjoy seeing, just how long someone can stay there.
It is simply a joy to watch high level Starcraft and being commented by Lowko, well, that's just the icing on the cake.

Starcraft should start implementing player nerfs instead of unit nerfs. Something like "reapers controlled by Byun have the grenade cooldown increased" or "Units made by Serral move like they are in easy mode on the campaign". This could solve the issue of nerfing around one person, Blizzard please.
Makes sense since sometimes in regular sports when one participant has a very substantial advantage over everybody the commission "nerfs" them according to the standard of the competition
Dumb take honestly. You're basically punishing people who work hard on their crafts so that the game is more 'balanced'. It's like nerfing Michael Jordan's layups to count as 1 point instead of 2.

nothing against oliveira, but he’s not world champ caliber. he had an absolute miracle run, and i’m happy for him, he worked hard, but he just isn’t up to the same caliber was other top tier players
That's not fair. He is very very good. Serral can literally make anyone in the world look worse in comparison just because he is SO IN HUMAN at applying pressure and avoiding mistakes. I swear to God he has a third hand just for taking advantage of slight mistakes.

i agree that serral is an inhuman monster, but he can’t be serral. that proves that oliveira’s miracle run was just that; a miracle. it was a miracle serral got tiered against ragnarok, p much one of 2 players that can beat serral.
again, i’m not trying to knock oliveira. an opportunity presented itself, and he was skilled enough and agile enough to snatch it and run with it. kudos to him. but this match proves he’s just not world champ ready
I guess you can reduce the surface area of your army by moving between the mineral field and the base?
I thought that was a decently smart move, as long as banes don't obliterate you from the sides.

Wasn't especially early WoL pretty much a neverending parade of Terran nerfs (and adjusting Bunker build time +/-5s every other patch)?
People usually talk about Byun when bringing up players that got stuff nerfed. But they forget about Has, who got more units nerfed than Byun. As for how Zerg would be without Serral, back in 2017 and 2018, during Serral's rise, Zerg was broken asf, but no one else has really taken advantage of it. Back then, people complained more about the golden armada. Zerg player lineups were way weaker back then, with names people forgot about now, so how strong Zerg is was not fully utilized.
This ties in to the point of lowko in another video that MaxPax not playing offline skews the perceived strength of Protoss. Harstem also mentions a lot that templars outrage other spellcasters, so theoretically, a micro god could parry away other race forces. But there's no micro god in Protoss, other than blink micro and maybe prism pickup micro.

The battle at 15' isn't that strange, he saw that he had +1 attack/armor while Seral had nothing, he rushed in as that advantage might not last long

Lowko you zerg biased Being.Olivera was using the hatchery to reduce the surface area of the zerg force perfectly. 2 Game he didn t kill the zerg engenering bay but instead of targeting it Olivera again used it as Choke Point. He s trying next Generation terran tactics against ling bane armies 1 cyclone after the Patch can Tank 4 banes If i saw IT right. Olivera s trying new thinking
the balance wasn't around serral it was for him or queens would be fixed.

it amazes me that people are still not defending serrals run bys... he does that every singel match
It is always perfectly timed when they cant spare their armies for it. Either they run back to base but by that time serral has killed at least 5scv's and probably gets out without losing more than a single ling. So at that point serral is just bleeding them through a thousand paper cuts. Or they try to do dmg to serral because part of his army is locked up at their base and they hope to have numerical superiority. Wich was the case here as Oliveira won the engagement but he didn't do it fast enough.

Somehow Oliveira extremely weak in multitasking this match. 2 rounds with SCVs totally wiped out so easily. Now many players know how to deal with Oliveira, don't attack first, hold the line and macro build. Then counter attack when Oliveira comes, am I wrong ?
That's just what serral does to people. Every top level player slowly gets choked it into making mistakes trying to keep up with him. But serral literally only understands sprinting as a zerg for whatever he wants and punished every single mistake so harshly it's wild.

I can literally only watch serral. Every other zerg just loses too much. But serral is a God. Even against the best in the world its still an uphill battle to win against him. It makes it hard to unbearable to watch anyone else.

I'm still convinced it's the element lead (Pb). Bullets are often referred to as lead, so it makes sense to me

Im not sure its just me or someone else feels the same way but whenever Lowko refers oliveira as world champion, seems like he just using it as mocking or laughing at him, like serral just dominating the game over the " world champion" and that's not even close.....it just getting earful over and over

@@empese1127 doesnt a bunker with marines in it deal damage? And can it not be "healed" via SCV repair? I ask honestly out of curiosity having only been in the SC2 world for a few months. The shield battery knock I do get... altho it also "heals" Protoss units by very quickly repairing their shields and allowing those single units to deal much much more damage than they otherwise would.
@@Therunner77452 yes but the queen is 1 unit who can do all of those things. A bunker requires an scv to build and repair plus a barracks to make Marines. Shield battery can heal. That's all. A queen can heal, attack both ground and air, has quite a bit of health and it's armored

Feels like there is something really wrong with the way queen is designed in SC2. It just gives zerg so much early defense and macro boost.

The problem was removing hydralisks from tier 1. Blizzard really gave themselves a massive design headache. Makes it tough to be offensive as zerg in the early game so you need to compensate by making their defense awesome.
Without queens zerg win rate on average would drop from 40% to like 30 or 20. It's literally the main thing keeping zerg alive early against all these fast moving units from other races. The entire point is that they are a very sturdy unit that provides base defense and utility. But if someone manages to kill them then the zerg is basically helpless.
Serral just makes everything look way better than it is because he plays literally near perfect.
Then nerf queens, but makes hydralisk den available from hatchery. Will you accept? Oh then you will say "hydralisks so OP they should not exist". I swear terran balance whiners must be losers in real life

Serral is a top 5 player all time, but the GOAT he is not. 1 world title and 1 GSL title is not enough.
Maru won four GSL titles running, and 7 overall.
he is currently sitting at a rating of 3.6k, maru is 2nd with a rating of 3.45k.
and this has been the case for a long time now.
he is even improving his rating, while maru is stuck since 2022.
serral is the better player, hate it or love it.
This hurts to say since Im a Maru fanboy, but Maru doesn't have the World Title capstone in his career yet. I'm still leaning towards Serral being closer to being the goat vs Maru

serral is just good at the game... the things he can do almost no ine else can. blizzard thinks, "well obviously the race is OP as fuck... lets just nerf it" when it was just one dude figuring out the race to a T
so basically what serral should do is play the other races and get them nerfed to the ground
