    Half of our handles were one way & half the other; obviously the builder & contractors didn’t know either!🤦🏻‍♀️ and of course the builder did not leave us the little tool to switch them. I prefer them to “swoop up”.
    Thank you for the help!

    This video is the gift that keeps on giving! My levers positions where 1/2 and 1/2 throughout my house. I was planning to move several of the latches around to try to get handles right side up. Reversing just the handles was a breeze! Thanks for the video.

    Thank you so very much for this detailed information because I had already removed my exterior garage door lock set before I realized that I had to switch the direction of the levers and the problem was I couldn't get them back together again it wouldn't click and the instructions just weren't very clear so your detail about needing to insert that pin key again in the pinhole was what finally kept me from tearing out every last hair on my head. That was the missing link here and if I had not found your video I'd be bald by now. This detail worked like a charm. Thank you again

    Thanks for the info! I prefer fixing stuff like this myself instead of paying someone an inordinate amount of cash to do it. Hell, I fixed weapons radar and inertial navigation systems on F-14's, I ought to be able to be able to pull this off, right? I've read conflicting views as to the way the "curve" is supposed to be mounted, but I figure it's up to the individual and how the design best fits their hands/needs. As a paraplegic/double amputee, it's easier for my service dog to open the door for me when the curve is turned upwards, thus her paw is more apt to stay on the handle instead of slipping off the end of the curved portion. Either way, I appreciate your having shared this valuable info. Have a great day!

    I have the exact same looking set by Epic, but my set is for an exterior door with a key to lock and unlock . The smart salesman at their hardwares store said NO you cannot turn the handles around ...because of the key barrel...I disagreed but no was no use arguing with him. I may have to watch other videos with an actual key locking mechanism. Thanks... the hard part is using the tool to get the handle off.

      Unfortunately, once the set was screwed on to my door the key wouldn’t fit in or or turn...so OFF it came, and the old set back on. Now, I will go out and buy a more reliable brand name lock set with NO LEVER handles just the round knob, or maybe an electronic / keyed set and if there is a lever, I will insist they reverse it at the store AS FOR THE OTHER SET ....it’s in the GARBAGE.

    • @harrietkankash7809
      @harrietkankash7809 Před 4 lety +1

      No, D Herauf. All yours are installed incorrectly. The handle according to the ADA should curve upward and then downward toward the end. This allows you to push down from a higher position, not push down from a low position. Woodified is correct.

  • @mike325ci
    @mike325ci Před 3 lety
