    The one time in Roman's title reign he not only couldn't get the job done, but couldn't retain the composure that was typical of his whole heel character was against Seth at the 2022 Royal Rumble. Seth came out in the Shield gear and Roman was so hungry for revenge that he went nuts, got DQ'd and totally murdered him.
    Seth's plan was to repeat that: to be a distraction for Roman that he couldn't ignore. Seth's goal was always to stop the Bloodline by any means necessary, and he did it. For 1,316 days Roman destroyed his family and his former friends, laughing in their faces and without looking back, but he never could get over Seth.
    Roman had three strikes: He lost Sami, he lost Jey, and both times he barely walked away. This time he was struck out. A perfect story.

      A lot of fans don't even know Bruce's history it's not just backstage in WWE, he was long time family friends with Dusty. Not only was he first to call Cody and work to bring him in, but people have to realize, nearly everyone backstage loved Cody's dad. Bruce was great friends with Dusty and Triple H looked up to him and so did the Rock. Reigns and Rollins looked up to him. This was touching for all of them to do this not just because its WM 40 but also because it's Dusty's son, and behind the scenes it was like they were all doing this great thing for their former mentor and because Cody is just incredible. He really deserved it.

      He has been for a while.
      Cody did an interview a while back that basically talked about Seth making a huge decision that helped Cody (basically saying Seth was supposed to go over due to Cody's injury but Seth knew Cody winning that match would make him a made man).
      I get upset when certain podcasters and commentators don't understand why Seth's over. It's because the fans know he's the ultimate company guy. You need a cowardly heel for a few years because we don't have anyone? Here's Authority Stooge Seth with J&J Security. You need a fired up babyface? Well, Seth beat HHH and Brock Lesnar at two different WMs as one. You need a dastardly, evil heel? Well, Seth right before and during the pandemic was doing that type of character with his weird cult-like character. Now he's basically playing the Phantom of the Opera, which is a character I personally love but understand why most don't like him.
      Fans don't just love his music, they love the person who plays that character in all it's iterations. They may not like each individual character at a specific time, but that's down to individual tastes etc. Yes, he was the geek of Wrestlemania, but he was involved in both main events in a very key way and is set to have programs with Roman (definitely) and potentially Rock as well as a future feud with Punk down the road. Not many wrestlers can be lucky enough to say the same.

    • @Snargle
      @Snargle Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@spsawyer22 Indeed as you eloquently put it Seth is a jack of all trades guy which makes him the perfect company guy. All the versions of Seth's character have fit what the company needed at that time. (I also enjoy his current version but concur about seeing how it could annoy some people.) He definitely looked like a geek at Wrestlemania, but he did tell Cody he'd be his shield & ended up being just that. And like you said it sets Seth up for plenty of feuds down the line.
      Also it irks me when certain podcasters don't get why Seth it over.

    I feel like, in kayfabe, that was exactly Seth's plan. Seth's goal was to have Roman lose the title and, again, Seth beat Roman. Sure, he got hit with a chair, but Seth knew he wasn't going to beat Roman in the shape he was in. All he needed to do was make Roman take his eye off the ball like he has done *every* time they've competed.
    And Roman did.

    You know, when the concept of Bloodline Rules was first mentioned, I assumed there would be no need for any of them to run in, as they would all come out at the start and hang out around the ring. From the way Rock was talking about it, I thought Solo would ring the bell to start the match, Jimmy would be the timekeeper, and Rock might be the ref before it was all said and done. The faces could have just been planted in the audience wearing hoods or big hats, so they wouldn't need to run in, either. And some of them are older guys, their running days should be well behind them.
    But I was really hoping Dustin might show up somehow. It just felt off without him there.
