    Mine won't go on at all. Tensioner is all the way back and belt still won't slide on. Is it 87.8" or 88 3/8" length?

      @yolo7457 Před 2 lety +1

      I’m guessing the 87.8 didn’t fit ?? I’m also having the same problem they gave me the 87.8 and it didn’t fit I had to remove the alternator and force it to fit since it was an emergency and I couldn’t return the belt because store was close already .. but now the belt squeaks.. I’m going to try and put the 88 3/8 and it should fit perfectly

      it looks like everyone sells the 87.8 because it's probably cheaper to manufacture as it prob fits another popular car. I don't think serpentine belts are made to stretch as much as the guy in the video shows. The OEM belt is no doubt longer than the replacement. I could get the smaller belt on but it would only probably cause me more issues down the road. There is an 880 belt sold under some parts listings. Or I will bite the bullet and buy the one off the dealer.

    What type of wrench are you using?

    • @dudewecanfixit
      @dudewecanfixit  Před 4 lety

      Just a standard combo wrench. Open on one side and boxed on the other. The big wrench is a 22mm, but any large wrench that fits over the small wrench will work for double wrenching. Just be careful

    How many miles on the car before you change the belt?

    • @rosskrause3926

      Try to look at the belt somehow,like down on the bottom with at least 1 of the panels removed,and if needed take off passenger side front wheel and panel(s) and look at the belt.
      i was told many years ago if you can see 6 cracks/splits per inch on the belt replace it..or any fraying..you may want to research that,but look at the belt.

      Usually serpentine belts are good for 60K to 100K miles.

    Can u stop saying the years when it’s totally different for the 3.5 altimas. Yours is the cheap four cylinder and ur shit keeps coming up when I’m looking for 3.5 and it’s not the same Jesus!

    • @dudewecanfixit
      @dudewecanfixit  Před 2 měsíci

      That sounds frustrating.
      It might show better results if you search for the engine nomenclature. (Nissan 3.5 serpentine belt)

      @@dudewecanfixit that’s exactly how I’m searching yet I get nothing but 2.5 . I even switched to maxima and I get another 4cyl video

    • @dudewecanfixit
      @dudewecanfixit  Před 2 měsíci

      Dang, there might not be a video on that specific engine.
      That's pretty surprising, might need to make one.
