This is the OST of my childhood.. Can't listen to this without feeling nostalgia
I love this game. When I was a kid, the levels felt so mysterious and compelling to me.
Same here! The ost of the lost years :/
@@riddleiddle that's what bothers me most with games nowadays...they lack the feeling of ambivalance older games created.
yoshis island for example is another good one... it's super cute visually but some levels are darker and intimidating and the soundtrack is sometimes gets really weird and mysterious.
nowadays they define the target audience...say its children and then everything get's cutesified like you can see with the newer versions of yoshi and kirby. there is nothing mysterious or dark about them anymore.
i think it was that mixture that made games back then so interesting...having weird and odd stuff in them was something that created interested... my whole game designer career is dedicated to create games with the same sense of curiosity they used to evoke back in the days :D
@@YuriNoirProductions Couldn't have said it better myself. Very inspiring that you became a game designer - that's what I am studying to become now.
Its the same with movies, Raiders of the Lost Ark felt adventurous and upbeat, and then all of the sudden you see people's faces melting off.
@@riddleiddle good luck with it! the best advice i can give is understand all the other jobs aswell as you will be the one communicating between art, devs and management...so understanding the needs and problems of each group makes it alot easier.
Stupid Mario and his stupid helicopter with his stupid magnet! Get outta here!!
These tracks make this game unforgettable:
24:56 and 33:31
They're all so nostalgic! Those were better days . . . 24:56 sounds like an 8-bit Scott Joplin rag, and it's extremely fitting for the railroad level! 🚂💗
Stage Theme III (12:25) and IV (14:18) are underrated af!
Stage Theme III reminds me of Tarm Ruins from TLoZ: Oracle of Seasons
stage 3 theme is my favorite.
never forget the feeling when it played on the flooded first stage
Yes, one of the best musical pieces done by Nintendo.
Stage VI too! I love Super Mario Land 3 soundtracks! Very nostalgic!
I loved going into rooms in stage iv ost and the music slowing down ever so slightly because the processor was struggling a teeny bit
12:24 is the best one
Reminiscent of Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening.
7 major lines makes everyone travels in other dimensions
Andrew Mortlock the flooded first stage ! we will never see more games like this, that was their time and place and thats makes it more painfully beautiful
h. zs. boy , as years passes , it seems the creativity for games , music , movies gets 2,3 steps behind ! i see people doin things in order to fulfill a comercial and globalized demand , and not a passion
Ryan Roubert indeed ! the sad thing, its not everything is THAT bad nowdays but they still lack of something.
maybe just we grown up and there is nothing new to us now.
btw im making a 2d rpg and my aim is to catch feelings like what the good old days games had.
Jesus I was able to play this with my eyes closed. Maxed out the money counter at the end every time. I always felt like there were new secrets and new ways to beat enemies. I’m looking at my original game boy cart right now 🔥
Yeah I managed to hang onto mine too. My mum donated mine and my dad's Gameboys to a thrift store years ago. I was pretty bummed at the time!
Blair P I sold so many of my old games to buy newer (at the time) crap that it makes me sick. I remember when god of war came out and I just had to have it. Bye bye old N64 and game boy games! I wish I could go back and slap myself haha
I forgot how much I loved this soundtrack. Such a fun game.
One of my favourites. thanks for the upload!
I have distinct memories of staying home sick from school and playing Wario Land for hours on my Super Gameboy in the 90’s. These are some are the greatest times of my childhood, and I look back in them fondly. ❤️
I was always scared of 7:21 as a kid. Great OST.
I always associated it with running from the Thomp guy
@@j-scribble7676 Oh yeah, that was pure nightmare fuel as a kid.
Same here. That and the first stage of Stove Canyon, hauling ass to keep ahead of the lethal lava wall
@@j-scribble7676his name is pouncer not thwomp
Even when I was about seven (when I really played this game, back in 2008) Stage Theme III really had an ethereal feel for me. It still does.
This game is fantastic.
Same here, still does.
I cried when hearing this, they feel so dang nostalgic, I played Wario Land when I was a kid and it's been so long since then
Being bad is good and greed is good!!
Be the bad guy.
Come and get it on Gameboy *Greedy!*
Fuck me. I had the first stage's music singing in my head for like 2 days now. Being able to listen to the whole OST is such a treat :'D Thanks for uploading it!
Love the End Credits song so much! So many nostalgia :')
After so many years that song just poped up in my head and i had to search in youtube to listen it again =).
i cry when i listen this
26:37 favorite part!
🎶 The nostalgia hits hard when I listen to this! Good times! I especially like Stage IV and Stage VI . . . I mean, they're all great! I would love to see OC Remix orchestrate these! 🎶
I just realised that my favorite track from back then is a mere minute on repeat. Bummer.
Still quite catchy!
So glad i had these tunes in my games growing up. I will always look back to my childhood with joy and video games like these have a lot to do with that
01:11 , 12:23 and 14:17 forever etched upon my memories
Every time I make a decision, I hear the sound of selecting a level in my head.
@@425gabe ohhh yeah
Such an amazing game with awesome music :)
I played this last time 20 years ago, as I was 10 years old. After that time, this is the first time I hear this music again. I noticed during listening to this: Nothing of that blurred out in my mind during that long time. It's like I listened to it yesterday :D.
Edit: Ok, one single thing got "wrong" in my memories: I was pretty sure that the lid of the teapot, when it first rises and then smashes down to the teapot made some high-pitched and explosion noises... But it didn't^^.
Do you think maybe as you got older you have lost the ability to hear certain higher frequencies? That is the case for me.
@@kurenan4564 Thumbs down for this question. how deaf must I be for that?? It's midrange frequencies. -.-
I confirmed it after writing this comment: In this video there is something missing. Other videos have it.
Am I the only one who thinks that this whole Soundtrack could be straight out of Link's Awakening? Sooooo many tunes remind me of that game!
same composer
Small gripe: The short jingles (like for losing a life) fade out at the end. Fading out works fine for songs that loop, but not for jingles with a specific end point.
This game's soundtrack is very unique. Most of the tracks sound like something you'd expect out of a game starring Wario, but then there are songs with sound mysterious, mystical, almost even beautiful for an 8-bit Game Boy tune. It all adds up to an incredible OST!
Stage Theme 6 has just an inviting ambiance that made minutes feel like hours during this long boat ride at night I took once^_^
Stage theme III is such a classic...
Classic and underated.
I played this game so much in the car I feel carsick just listening to this. It's been almost 30 years
I love that many of these tunes have a sort of hard rock vibe to them
25:54, Syrup Castle Overworld theme, is my favorite one, alongside some others already mentioned.
Thanks
stage theme 3 was my favorite as a child.. so mysterious and dreamy sounding :D
I fucking LOVED coins in this game. I mean... they served all kinds of purposes! You could use them! They were awesome!
You could even throw them at enemies to beat them.
I also liked the coins in this game. You needed them to activate a checkpoint, to end the level, you can multiply your collected coins at the coin game if you're lucky and you could collect a lot of them because you transfer them to an account unlike in Mario Land 2 where the limit was at 999 and the only purpose they served was to spent them on a mini game. But in Wario Land coins where great!!!
Stage III theme was always a deep one. That melody is engrained in my head.
It's funny I don't have the time to play these games much anymore but listening to the soundtrack takes me right back to all the parts and levels ha ha ahh good stuff.
Stage theme IX is my favorite tune in this game since I was a kid
6:01 randomly started playing in my head (I haven't played this game in like 20+ years)
Game was amazing, you just felt big adventure. Wario should be stable series as Mario. It have it's own atmosphere, doesn't compete. It always was about doing something what Mario shouldn't.
Yes!!! Thanks you
25:55 always gave me goosebumps yet loved it
9:14 Loved this song as a kid and still love it now
It had to be 2000-2001 and I was playing this on my Gameboy Pocket while on a boat travelling for vacations. A nerdy dude with glasses came and told me about the secret code where you press "select" 16 times when paused and it let you add lives etc.
I love this game for the amazing memories it gave me
Wow, now I remember.
@@GokuMcDuck you mean to tell me it was you?
@@EvilForgemaster I wish. Nerds are smart.
The memories...
Stage Theme VIII (22:30) sounds really derisive. It's as if it wants to tell you: "Hey this is stage 39/40. Have fun before you become unable to do so..."
It's hilarious.
That one synth they use reminds of Wario’s voice from later games. It’s funny to think of him singing along in-game to all these tunes.
HOURS OF FUN AND STRESS SIMULTANEOUSLY
the duck that throws the little boomerang sword at you, is the best sound in the whole game.
so many good hours on the loo...
My first Game Boy game...feel so nostalgic
I don't know why I'm listening to this in 2017...
20:56 is still amazing btw x)
12.25 brings back so many memories
The song at 23:30 is called "Ghost and goblins every where, watch out there's one in your hair." My favorite from way back when i was young
Holy shit I used to play the heck out of this game and 2, 3 and 4 when I was young and I would play them on the school bus. The one level with the lava wall coming from the left used to terrify me as a kid~
one of the realest tracks ever to be dropped. Dope AF 😄 Lol brings back good memories
This game has a really unique soundtrack.
Oh, those memories...
24:54. That one is by far my favorite. 12:23 comes close though.
+Curiosity Man oh yeah! i looked for the music from 24:54... these childhood memories... have a like sir!
That's a good one, though I've always been partial to 20:56.
All you need to know is "I'm-a Wario! I'M-A GONNA WIN!!"
Nintendo need to work on a Wario game just like how it looks in the pics. This was a good game.
Stage theme 2 was a whole vibe. I used to use the cheat to edit the bottom (press start then select 16 times, a cursor will appear, hold down b to change everything on the bottom row.) and change the time so I can hear it sped up
I really do wish the Wario Land soundtracks other than Wario Land 4 got more recognition, these tracks of each game are underrated in my opinion.
Especially Virtual Boy Wario Land
MT. TEAPOT! YES!
Hey man, could you add the beginning time of each song in the discription.
Oh man, it's awkeward to listen to the "File Select" song without hearing Wario's dash, the impact with the pipe, his looking around and grabbing a new cap : D
Wow....coming to this video with a deep urge for some Wario tunes without knowing I commented eight years earlier. Thanks for the timestamps, mate!
I see, i thinks it's great you have this love for this classic game.
3:05 - "Splish Splash Splosh, I'm having a wash..." goes great with this!
Stage Theme VII 20:56 is so underrated.
31:12 This sounds like when Mario is using Leaf-Item in Super Mario Bros. 3
The boss music was my favorite theme but all the stage theme were awesome as well! I Only counted 2 or maybe 3 starmen in the whole game.. how about you guys??!! but a great game to play it takes a while to play if you have not saved a game it got erased by the super game boy!! SS Teacup sounded Erriee!! loved the Railroad tracks levels too 2 stages of fun! I called the stage theme IX taking care of business! haha so many tracks on this GameBoy game to enjoy!
Stage Theme VII (20:56) and Parsley Woods (22:02) by far the best...
Ρε μαν τι λες. Το Stage IV δε σ αρεσει?
***** καλό και αυτό :)

The Wario fanfare sounds in music is like Supertramp's electronic laser keyboard.
"WHY MEN GREAT TILL THEY GOTTA BE GREAT"
I remember playing that game on a gameboy I borrowed for 3 years
23:30
That freaking acid/whatever stage...
I always thought it was some kind of thundercloud, swollen with electricity and following you. I don't know why. Maybe it's the deep notes making it seem like something big is lurking over you...
that is lava.
@@fuzy2449 To be fair, when everything's gray it can be kind of hard to tell them apart. Especially since they both kill you instantly.
This as playable game for switch where awesome 😍😍😍
I didn't 100% clear the game, but I beat the final boss on the ride home from the mall after purchasing this game when I was a kid.
what awesome music I used a similar one on my videos!
29:10 > Aww yeah shit is about to go down. 31:01> Oh hi princess... Wait..... what the fuck!? 31:18 > WOOYA BRING IT ONNN 32:38 > Awwww so pretty... Wait... What is that?...... huh................... FUCK YOU MARIO!!
Yay to the second game i've ever owned!
なつかし〜っ汗 コンビニで書き換えたりできる白いカセットでやってた思い出!? 森の面ムズかったなァッ
Stage Theme II is underrated.
This soundtrack is apparently very hard to record... most available uploads have the volume balance wrong, and BRAWLTSRM's, which is usually very good, has stereo separation that shouldn't be there, and I believe some reverb as well.
I guess I should upload it myself.
I crump to “Stage Theme VIII.”
literally the first game that i played when i was child
For me the first game was Tetris, but I think this is the second one.
This game should be on the switch
They do not care. All they cared was for Minecraft Steve in Smash and now Nintendo is forever ruined.
This is what happens when your told to work on franchise when you wanna make your own content and you become so annoyed that you make a character to mock the franchise completely and then everyone loves it forcing you to make even more games in that franchise but at least you have some control over it for once.
The best game for game boy
これとカービィが当時の鉄板だった
I never played this first one, but wish I had. Wario is such fine terrific series of games. People say it for Pokémon, but could it be that Wario only didn't have more levels due to the cartridge space running out? I figured that since people are saying, well, Stage Theme IV (14:17) stood out to me from just checking this out.
Sounds like Water-Themed Level on me but it's so mysterious 7:21
23:30 is a masterpiece!
Took me forever to find this! Was in my head and can’t believe I had to scroll this far! Makes me think of someone playing a funky synthesizer and being like, “want to hear something kinda weird and creepy but super catch and cool? Just wait for this little sick beat to get started…”
Team Stage 9 all the way!
j'ai terminer se jeux a 100%100 :D avec tout les trésor !!
RomeuS L'étrange oh un français ...c'est pas ici que je pensait en trouver un XD
OUI SA FAIS 3 ANS MAIS BON XD
Omfg
Why is no one talking about Stage Theme XI? That shit is like the main Wario theme of all time, right there.
9:14 my favorite music
Yer all nuts. 20:56 is the best.
For some reason the high notes on it doesn't sound correct. I remember it actually changing when I heard it on the Game Boy.
stage theme IX
I used to open the game and leave wario to die just to listen to this track
Pierre !
Umm guys you remember Wario Land? Incredible, incredible.
duck: ¡¡¡aaah!!
wario: I hunt you pirate "!!!!!
boat in board of screen Duck with a scream expression
I freaking love this game and Wario is such an amazing character that nintendo has kinda ruined; turning him into some stupid onion eating motorcycle riding farting loser is annoying!
well the garlic thing was implemented in this game... its the main Powerup!
+Jonny die Kante Not in this game, Wario Land Super Mario land 3
+Karson Gameboy Of course in this game. Its the powerup that gives you the helmet with the horns. I think its called Garlic Bottle and it looks like Garlic too!
+Jonny die Kante woah you really do know your nintendo facts ; )
+Karson Gameboy I just love Wario Games, this was my first one! I also was a little irritated with the new look in Warioware inc. when I first played it, but he is still such a loveable Character in that one and the other Warioware Games. I like both Series, they are very different, just like the Warios portrayed in them, but equally good nontheless!
I think the Wario you like so much is still a big Part of his current character and maybe you should give Warioware another Chance! :)
Sadly though, both series havent had a new game in quite some time and I really hope the guys at Nintendo havent forgotten about his potential as an anti hero...
Wario has a big place in my heart maby even bigger than Mario's :D
