- Ten years after simian flu wiped out much of the world's homosapiens, genetically enhanced chimpanzee Caesar and his ever-growing band of followers have established a thriving colony just outside San Francisco in Muir Woods. Meanwhile, a small band of human survivors emerges, which forces Caesar -- as leader -- to grapple with the dual challenge of protecting his people and re-establishing a relationship with the remaining human population -- the latter being Caesar's secret wish.

THE BEST PART...is how they gave maurice his own arc in the next movie/the first two as well.. Too often such characters just end up as not having their own interests and motivations, instead, just supporting the main character. That's why these movies aren't just great..but would be just as good if it didn't even have apes in it.

The saddest part of Koba as a villain is the fact that his hatred of humanity is understandable. He likely never received any kindness from humans during his lab experiment days. It makes total sense that he’d have no trust for humanity.
Yea, and he's not human, so he lacks the same morals we have. That's why he was comfortable with killing people and even other apes who defied him.
@@controlman7490 not with the simian flu. The simian flu made apes just like humans in terms of intelligence and mental capacity. It’s probably why he hated humans so much, he was now capable of truly understanding the intent and reasoning behind what the humans did to him, and realize just how cruel they were to him.
@@AesirUnlimited It made them intelligent, but that doesn't mean they acquired the same intelligence as humans. They know how to communicate and work together, but the apes lack morals that us humans would have. Ceaser is an exception because he was raised by humans, but Koba and the other apes don't have the same emotional intelligence to understand what's right and wrong. At the end of the day, they still possess a primitive and animalistic way of thinking.
@@controlman7490 The why did Maurice save the humans, despite being from a circus where he was abused too? He literally told Caesar that he only saw the bad side of humans, but still saved them because it was the right thing to do. The apes have the same intelligence and emotional capabilities as humans now.
@@controlman7490 actually no they do know what’s right or wrong. That’s why the ape didn’t kill the man. He knew it was wrong to kill an innocent man since ceaser told them what’s right or wrong.

Ruiner Darkness - I think War was the one that got the most attention from audiences - - even tho it literally ruined everything Caesar fought for in the first 40 minutes.

I loved Koba in the first movie. He was that one badass sidekick to Caeser when they escaped. Kinda sucks he was made the villain in the second movie but I can see where he was coming from

Some parts of this weren't exactly accurate. Just pointing out some things, the ALZ-113 virus didn't make them aggressive, just made them extremely intelligent. It was due to the act of humans that they became aggressive. Not only that, they had always had the ability to communicate with each other, that was how Caesar managed to communicate to them how to fight the humans.
I personally think the virus did increase their aggressiveness a bit, but I also think it was the simple fact that they became more intelligent, prompting them to understand more and become more aware that they began fighting back more as well.

Maybe the metaphor is about their personalities. The shield represents how Ceasar is more calm, level headed and calculated, along with willing to wait for the moment to strike. The "sword" represents Koba. While Koba is also cunning. He is also irrational in some ways. As well as sadistic and ruthless. He doesn't wait for a moment to strike, instead he tries to make one. well its because most of them change their voice for views or in order to "catch your attention" being more expressive and being more entertaining than the subject matter they are trying to portray. thats why ive shifted towards these types of videos and youtubers that jsut spit facts rather trying to advertise THEMSELVES, rather the content they influence.

I love how this channel puts quality and quantity videos. Simple, easy to follow, and amazing movie recommendations
When these movies were coming out, I was nervous but excited. I was OBSESSED about the original Planet of the Apes (the sequels were OK and I liked them enough, but the original has always been a favorite of mine.) But this whole trilogy was almost exactly what I wanted it to be, and ESPECIALLY this one. Excellent balance between the humans and apes, showing how the apes are evolving. I also love how the writers did a bit of tweaking in the roles of the apes in their growing society to better reflect the research that has been done since the original book/film (chimps more militaristic, gorillas just brute strength slightly chill body guards, etc.) Just good cinema while really leaning into the lore of and developing the universe.
+ @micahsimon94 question is, will they do a time jump where this time technological apes in spacecraft jump to the future and see what happened to Ape civilization (really an appropriation of human civilization) - self destructed and back to subjugation by the humans once again. A return time jump like in the OS?
