INSTALLING PERTRONIX ELECTRONIC IGNITOR II IGNITION in 1970 CORVETTE

Hey Folks! Welcome back to the channel. Today I am installing a Pertroxix Ignitor II electronic ignition with adaptive dwell along with a Pertronix Flame Thrower II coil in my 1970 Corvette. I installed this Pertronix 91181 electronic ignition and 45011 Flame Thrower II coil in my Corvette's distributor to eliminate the need for the old points and condensor.

Hey if you shim your gear on the distributor you are not going to get the pin on the gear back in,

For what it cost you for that kit, you could have went to your local scrap yard and bought a HEI distributor with the coil in the cap. Hooked up the 12v lead to it and been done with it. Cheaper and the ignition modules are cheaper to buy than having to get a new kit when this one fails.

What if he wanted his car to retain the original look of a points distributor? Cheaper doesn't always mean better.

It's a tach drive distributor so it's harder to find
