    Just got your BlueDriver OBDII for all my p71 and ppv Tahoe’s. Maybe even my wife’s new car if she gets a code. This old cop cars are tanks and with regular maintenance I haven’t had many problems. Some are reaching close to 20 years now so this thing has been a time and money saver. LOVE IT! These videos are awesome, too. Thank you for putting such an awesome device on the market for a almost scary low cost. I feel I should be owing you guys some money. Great company you’ve built. I'm curious why a $120 Launch scanner can read misfires on my 2003 Cadillac Deville DHS but the Bluedriver can't? Also, the same Launch scanner can read the ABS code on my 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee but the Bluedriver can't? Also, my Bluedriver keeps telling me there's an update but after doing the update it's still the same version.

    I got P300, 301, 2 and 3 in our 2013 Honda Pilot 184,000 miles. It was running great and there’s no noticeable misfires so I’m bewildered at why those codes were thrown. So I pulled the plugs out on 1 and 2 and they looked ok, I didn’t bother with 3. The reason being that the codes said that all 3 were misfiring and I now know that it’s not because of the plugs. So then I swapped the coils between 1 and 4 to check to see if I could tell if #1 coil is bad, but when I go to crank the car, it was dead. I charge my battery over night. This morning it cranks right up and sounds fine and since the dead battery cleared the codes, I ran the quick scan to see what it would say. It only came back with 2 totally new codes. The one for the car seat heater switch and another for the AC. Then I drove it about 18 miles to see if they’d come back on and so far they haven’t. Several hours later and I just did a full scan with the Blue Driver and it’s still not giving any new codes. So I cleared the heat seater and AC ones that had popped up (they work fine) and I’m guessing a bad or slowly draining battery caused all of this weirdness. I think a new dashcam I recently got and had plugged in must’ve actually been draining the battery just enough that it could’ve done this. I had forgotten to unplug it. The car battery isn’t that old. Is it possible for a battery to make random codes pop up that you think are in error or is there something more serious going on?

    • @LemurMonitors
      @LemurMonitors  Před 3 lety +4

      Hi! A low charged or defective battery may cause all sorts of issues with electrical components and cause random codes due to low system voltage. If you've experienced any battery issues (i.e. a dead battery) we'd suggest that you test your battery and charging system first before diagnosing any codes. Proper system voltage is a key component before trying to diagnose/repair DTCs and vehicle faults. Good luck!

    • @iam1smiley1
      @iam1smiley1 Před 2 lety +1

      The intake manifold leak will make the engine think it's running lean because of unmeatered air coming into the engine, the O² sensor will sense a lean condition and add extra fuel to compensate for what it thinks is a lean condition but it's actually gagging on all the fuel.
      This would also be noticed by as a lean condition in your short and long term fuel trim data on live data with Blue driver. Fuel trim is taken after engine is warm and should normally be 0% but can fluctuate 5-10% either way. The "lean" condition will set a code if it exceeds 25%. Fuel trim will Improve when you drive if the vacuum leak is smallish, otherwise you have other issues.

      You can leave it plugged in yes. If a vehicle is going to sit for 3+ weeks without running we always recommend unplugging it at that point. The only exception would be a Mazda vehicle. You should always unplug the scanner from a Mazda when you are finished with it.
