There's A Lot to Learn about Mii Brawler | Character Crisis

- Mii Brawler is a terrifying high tier to fight but this wasn't always the case. Mii Brawler for the longest time was ignored by the smash community but once players began to dive into this characters deep toolkit they realized that there's a lot going for this character. I expected learning how to play Mii Brawler would be easy but I couldn't have been more wrong.

Mii brawler is quite the silly specimen, and definitely high potential. I think the reason that no one has had that much success with them is because of how complex they are in advantage state, while played optimally they can kill extremely early, if you miss an opportunity you’re not getting any kills until around 140%
I love flashing Mach punch so much it's ridiculous how people just walk into it
I love this series and your editing. Great story telling! I vote for wario next - wah!
I would love to see Lucas. I think he is really underrated and extremely fun to learn
this video has literally given me the inspiration to play mii brawler again
I love to hear that!
Love the video! you’re editing is top notch! Great job👏
Thank you! I'm self taught so that's an incredible compliment to receive
I thoroughly enjoy how under rated characters get their time in the limelight
Aww, yeah, same here! ^^ Thanks for the videos!
I like your bit on the specials. Aside from maybe counter (seriously, why does it need incomplete coverage?!) it seems like a lot of the moves are better than I gave them credit for. I always saw burning dropkick as a meme attack just like falcon punch. Nothing you'd use in a serious match. I don't have the patience to give every character a chance to be my main, but maybe I could give every special a shot.
new character crisis dropped 🥺
1:24 they honestly weren't broken, they were just crazy powerful.
I run 2332. This gives you multiple fast kill options off the top, a command grab to quickly rack up damage and get opponents on platforms, and a good recovery. It’s kinda stupid how well it works. And if you’re struggling with projectiles, you have nair and feint jump.
Great video, and I love how you swapped through all the miis at 9:28
It's my favorite part of the video for sure
Love the vid!! You should try doing Jigglypuff next time mate 🤠 also your Mii Brawler was pretty sick, you got me sweating in that match with Diddy
Hey glad you found my video AJW! I have good news, Jigglypuff is currently on my next poll! It's in the community tab on my CZcams page
Tuesday my new favorite day if the week
Mission accomplished 😎
Yet another peak video from Tuesday! Would love to see falcon.
Very well done video
the end where you announced ridley was so cool! also inkling pls
Love this series!
nice timing because i just started focusing in co maining inkling with mii brawler
Love the use of Miitopia battle music. Makes me want to play it again. Also I love the Mii’s and Mii Brawler did become my main next to Link. Love seeing videos of Brawler being used.
Which set do you like to use and why? I play brawler as a secondary to help with matchups samus struggles with (the same ones link does for the most part) and I've tentatively settled on 2312. The idea is that you have this fast, powerful attack that deals ~20% damage and kills off the top at a reasonable percent but is unsafe on shield, but you ALSO have a decently fast, moderately powerful command grab that deals ~20% damage and puts you in a bad position, with axe kick as a fairly reliable tool for those close quarters scramble situations that will almost definitely arise with an aggressive playstyle shared between you and your opponent and feint jump of course because suplex sucks for horizontal recovery and there's not much to be gained from counter throw (especially not head on assault!), and simply going for the kick (or even the stomp) in neutral can work well as a mix up once or twice per match
I’d love to see sora that would be rad, but great vid as always
New Character Crisis Dropped! Also, I secondary mii brawler and he was the character I learned the game with. I’m so glad you get to use him! I run 2332.
One of my favorite sets is 2322, it's a fun set
As a brawler main I only can recommand you to play only one or two moveset
you already have enough to learn (combo game, particular situation ect) and don"t need to learn how to use every special move in addition
While I do agree with this my goal for this series is to learn more about the game and if I only played with one moveset I would have been missing out on what is possible with the character. I wouldn't have found out how good Soaring Axe Kick is for example and when it's appropriate to use that move over other Up-Specials. If I were to continue to main Brawler I agree that I should only focus on one moveset.
Can't comment enough on how much I love these videos. Jake (can I call you jake?) your content is amazing.
Thanks! I'm more of a Jacob tbh.
@@TuesdayTastic Gotcha 😉
Another great video. I'd like to see you try Lucas. We have a few good Lucas mains in my region that make the character look sick
Lucas is a character I've been interested in for this series. He's potentially a very underrated character and I'm curious what it'd be like to main him.
I have mained mii brawler for 1 year and I loved the vid
I'm glad that my two weeks of playing him was still entertaining to someone whose been playing them for 52 weeks!
Good shit Tuesday. As 2nd best solo brawler in UT, I agree with this message
Head on assault is my favourite because its fast
Honestly I've been having one of these myself looking all over to see. I began with Fox only back in melee, and didn't play ever until ultimate came out. To my surprise I tried Isabelle and worked out as my first actual main, however I felt. Missing. So I turned to the mii's. I liked they're diversity and how much the gameplay changes with every moveset you use. And STILL I feel missing, so I then tried Sheik, duck Hunt,, Didi Kong.. Etc etc. I still haven't really found someone I wanna use.. Especially as my friend(and rival) is such pro like after me xD
Good luck on your journey of finding your soul main! Hopefully I can too haha
A few things about brawler i feel needed touching on; suplex does 18%, not 15 like you mentioned, though i imagine that could've just been a slip of the tongue, and also the other reason people don't use onslaught: the move uses set weight, meaning the main thing that affects how well it kills is fall speed. Fox, dedede, and greninja live forever, but it absolutely obliterates peach, samus and yoshi. Idk why they decided to make it like that but.. it's just another can of worms that makes the move even harder to master
Brawler just has an impossibly long list of things you can learn with him. Incredible character to main for that reason though!
it's kinda like a less consistent flare blitz. Still likely to kill off of a single read tho which is nuts
Oh by the way I think I (me personally, ofc this doesnt apply to everyone) would love if you skipped the moveset explanations outside of really strong moves and general gameplan and you told us what you think actually is important with the character if you wanna infodump. For example, I dont care about what the specials do, but I do care about more in depth reasoning for idk, archetypes the character beats, strong points and weak points more in depth, and then I would straight up jump into the montage and center the video around the tournament part rather than the moveset and montage, I would think of those as add-ons rather than like, half the video. Still great content tho
I appreciate the feedback. I decided to talk about the moveset for Mii Brawler because it is such a big part of his kit. For other characters I definitely try to focus more on the strategy behind them rather than discussing moves.
Great video
My main is....
Mii Brawler
Mii Sword Fighter
Kirby
Dr. Mario
Mr. Game & Watch
Prince Peach
Piranha Plant
Highkey pichu might be the play, from a fellow mini-rat main
Pichu was one of my most difficult characters to get into elite smash during the pandemic. Playing Pichu more seriously would be very fun
You should play Diddy Kong next.
I will main mii brawler until Kiryu comes to smash
I personally go for 1211
brawler is a very strange character. He has the basic gameplan of bair, upsmash and dthrow thrupper that makes him a solid threat with good options. But the issue is that that is a false skill ceiling. In order to make brawler feel like a top 15 character youve got to be able to full momentum nair and hit IDJ upairs consistently. Both of which are totally doable to hit in tourney consistently, but the technical gap between the basic way to play brawler and the top tier way to play him is so different that many players just never bridge that gap.
Brawler goes from a very easy character to an 8/10 difficulty character in order to cash in on all his tools.
And none of this is even delving into the depth his alternate move sets can have. He's a very rewarding character simply because you can spend a long time learning all the intricacies of him.
Ya, and the cool thing is you can change movesets without it counting as a character change. So counterpicking based on stages is more viable even in character first tourneys. @@TuesdayTastic
Could you do pit next?
It's up to my patrons now! However, I do have one who is a solo dark pit main so it could happen soon.
top 5 most complex character in the game
The other 4 are Peach, Ice Climbers, Mii Gunner, and Mii Swordfighter
can you not charge up burning drop kick in ultimate? i remember you could in 4
I didn't play brawler in 4 so idk.
@@TuesdayTastic i did, which is why im questioning it, because i know you could charge up burning drop kick in 4 to get extra distance and power, but can you not do it in ultimate
I think Falco would be a good choice because he kind of plays similar to Peach with a touch of death combos also I main him so I guess there's a little bit of bias
One of my friends mains Falco and I'd always get so tilted playing against him lol. It'd be fun if it were me doing the combos instead.
@@TuesdayTastic yeah in my opinion there's only two types of falcos the laser spamming falcos and then the ones that actually do combos
Week 2 of requesting Meta Knight!!!!!
Also 9:28 was so fucking sick. how long did it take you to do that!!?
@@icymilesit wasn't the hardest thing to do. I created a one stock ruleset and controlled the other character to SD. I then held a direction on the d-pad to get the specific win animation I wanted. Then in the editing I just went frame by frame to put a new character in. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
the real question is do you have 81 miis for all combos?
How else do you think I got everyone for the combo video?
To be fair, mii brawler in patch 3.0 is a far worse character than he is today. Less safe aerials, thrupper sucked, and overall less kill potential was really bad for him
ummm okay, but like week 1 of asking for mii gunner?
The youth have no gratitude these days
pfffffft
diddy kong
Diddy has beat me in bracket a lot lately so it could be good to learn him haha
Can you do PAC-MAN?
One of these days
Alr cool, thanks! i can wait :)
Do hero
I'll add him to the queue!
Pac man!!!!!
Peter Griffin
Still asking for bayonetta 🙏
In my opinion, he doesn't have infinite potential he has 16 potential.
