- We've got a playset to look at today! The Vintage Collection Endor Bunker from Return of the Jedi. More importantly, however, is the 3.75" action figure included inside: The Vintage Collection Rebel Commando (Scout Trooper Disguise) VC272.
I don't normally care for the playsets too much, but I just had to have this really cool figure. So, let's crack this box open from Entertainment Earth and see how Hasbro did this time!

I know! So close, right, Dave?! I was really going to put it together, though. Then, like I explained, I opened it and it was much more involved than I predicted and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it back apart without damaging it. Alas, no joy. Plus, as I was looking at it, that thing is ripe for customization. It looks so much like a "model" right now. I was thinking it could use a great dark wash, some weathering and a few apps of paint here and there to give it a more realistic look. All would have made for a great video. Oh well. Thank you for the kind words about the video and I'm glad it gave you a quick laugh. If I'm not gonna pull the figure off the card, nor put together the playset, at least I should entertain a little! haha!

I have really fond memories of the Endor Bunker. That's because one of the few toy items Gen surprised me with as a gift was the Power of the Force 2 Endor Bunker. I have never opened it and it still remains in my toy room. Does this fond memory mean I'll buy this new one? No...but I really did enjoy your video on it! 🤣

Oh, that's really cool, Shabby! I had no idea they had even done anything like this in the past. And yeah, this is a lot of money to spend on something in a line that you don't collect. For me, I'm such a sucker for the Imperial-looking figures, and this one was so unique, I didn't want to take the risk of missing out on it. Interestingly enough (or not) my set was packed differently in the box. That carded figure was secured in by moving arms. The set actually comes apart pretty easily, as I missed a step and then realized I had two pieces remaining 😂. Love the figure, but need one carded and loose. Hopefully this set does go on sale in the future 👍🏽
Oh, that's weird to hear, Gary. I wonder if they are manufactured in a couple different facilities in China or something. And crap! It looked like once you snapped it together, it would nearly break it trying to get it back apart, which is why I didn't build it. If I had known, I would have built it and the video would have been very different. Oh well! haha! Thank you for stopping by again! Right, Matt! They keep putting these ultra-cool figures in playsets and vehicles that I have literally no use for, no interest in, and no display room for. Consequently, I have a bunch of boxed playsets and vehicles in that closet behind the Imperial flag. Hopefully you'll be able to grab up this figure soon. Don't worry Paul, my set should be here this weekend, and I'll put it together. 😁 The bunker doesn't look too much different from the POTF2 version I use on my Endor shelf, but it definitely has a lot of nice improvements.
The figure looks awesome as well! He'll look nice added to my Endor display...ask Bailey if she believes he's Captain Rex!

On the deleted scene you get a good shot of him putting the helmet on.
If I remember correctly, Jesse, and I may be wrong, you also get a super quick shot of him in the theatrical release putting on the helmet outside as Han's raid crew runs inside. Then afterwards, when they are all captured, you see the guy standing outside without his helmet on, being held at gun point. I'm so glad they included this really cool figure. What a great addition! Thanks for checking out the video, Matthew and for the great question. The helmet I would recommend depends GREATLY on what you plan to use it for and your budget. Hopefully this video will help. I looked at all the Stormtrooper helmets in my collection, compared them to the Black Series Stormtrooper helmet, and discussed price and construction. Nice sculpt on that helmet top looking figure. One thing though Paul. You took the bunker out of the box but didn't put it together and boxed it up. But then you didn't take the figure off the card. Us Star Wars fans are backwards😆. Only joking! Keep him safe on that card dude. You could always display that bunker in your garden. 😉👍
Right, Tez?! That's the best looking 3.75" Biker Scout helmet I have seen on a figure to date, and I have a quite a few variations. And I know. I'm so weird! haha! I might have put the bunker together if I had anywhere to display it. And yeah, I could put it outside, but there,s no greenery here in the desert southwest, so it would just be in gravel landscaping rocks andlook more like a Jakku Bunker. And inside of two months, it'd be sun-bleacher white! haha! So? Back in the box it went! haha! Thank you for stopping by and checking this one out!

I don't think so, Nick. Many people have speculated that, but there is no canon confirming it. Dave Filoni has been quoted as saying he "would like it to be Captain Rex," but at the end of the day, I think it's just some dude with a stellar beard. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!
