    • @armageddonhusai
      @armageddonhusai Před 9 lety +3

      ***** Yup, but penalties are all foul committed in the penalty area, not necessarily with great opportunity to score, I understand what you said anyways, but also was fault of the player of Germany. Why? because if not was a clear chance for a goal of England why she commit a foul, that was unnecessarily she knows she will put in danger her team to such a thing, that is an important factor in the game, and her couch probably tell them to don't do that in games specifically in that area unless is outside of the box. so for payment I would give the penalty.

    • @gaijinhakase1575
      @gaijinhakase1575 Před 9 lety +3

      +armageddonhusai
      If you were watching the match live, you would've seen the slow-motion replay of that penalty, and you would've seen that stupid Brit player man-handling the German player, and faked the whole thing. It was a dive. The Brit grabbed the German's waist and wrist and flung herself on top, then pretended she was pulled down by the German. Utterly disgraceful way to win.

    • @gamblemadman
      @gamblemadman Před 9 lety

      Gaijin Hakase What? Haha.
      It was a blatant foul. She ended up with both arms wrapped around her like they were playing rugby of something. You're delusional if you think that wasn't a foul.

    • @davidsprenkle2641
      @davidsprenkle2641 Před 9 lety

      Gaijin Hakase Yes, the English player (Sanderson?) grabbed Kemme's wrist. But then Kemme made the mistake of getting caught up in a wrestling match instead of just releasing her. As so often happens, the foul was called on the 2nd player. It was a moment of poor discipline--and it cost Germany dearly.

    • @gamblemadman
      @gamblemadman Před 9 lety +2

      David Sprenkle Yes, Sanderson.
      Players grab each other all the time at set pieces. But when they wrap *both* their arms around someone and hold them as they try to run for the ball then the ref has no choice but to give a foul. She literally had both her arms wrapped around sanderson.

    This is the first time that England rank #6 upsets Germany #1 in 21 attempts, and to do that in the bigggest tournament the WWC is quite an accomplishment for them. English women should hold their head high, to beat the 2 time and former champion for 3rd place with the bronze medal in their neck, I am happy for them and their coach Mark Sampson, despite Germany threaten them a little bit. England should be proud after that semi-final defeat to Japan (defending champion) by an own goal by Laura Bassett. It is redemption time for them, At first, I thought Germany is going to win the 3rd place game, after that painful defeat to Japan, I have second thoughts, I am cheering for England to beat Germany, and that is what they did, congrats England.

Germany certainly hasn't played well since the group stages. Criticized for inept performances versus France and USA and now England. Is their unhealthy diet to blame? England survived another own-goal scare and that helped to turn things around. Historic win against Germany for a deserving third place. Poor attendance though.

    England and Germany have a very strong football rivalry, and two of the strongest, if not the strongest leagues in European, and indeed world football. It is the equivalent of a derby rivalry in international football like Scotland V England is.
    My idea is to take advantage of this intense national rivalry by holing an Anglo German Cup, between club sides from the top division.
    My preferred option would be for all clubs from the top divisions of the German Bundesliga and English Premier who have not qualified for Europe to play in a straight knockout tournament, of one leg each. The final could be played at Wembley each year.
    Extra teams from Scotland and the other Germanic nations.
    My idea would also include inviting from the Scottish league Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Hearts, Aberdeen and Hibernian into the trophy to give them experience each year guaranteed to playing big non Scottish clubs. It would be the same Scottish teams invited regardless of league position to ensure big games for the big Scottish sides.
    Plus we could also invite more teams from the other Germanic nations to take part, such as from German speaking Switzerland, the famous team Basle, and from German speaking Austria, Rapid Vienna, and Salzburg.
    Teams who qualify for Europe are punished in Europe
    One problem with English football is that teams who succeed, and qualify for Europe, are almost punished the next season because the next season, so they are almost punished for qualifying for Europe. This trophy would ensure they play more games, even if they do not qualify for the Europa League and Champions League.
    Scottish teams would love this trophy
    I think Scottish teams would love to play in this trophy because they would love the guarantee of each year playing big English and German sides. As an Aberdeen fan I would love my team to be guaranteed games against big English sides every year. I would also be happy for Scottish teams to have to qualify for the trophy with say the first 4 teams in the Scottish Premier qualifying.
    Glamour Games
    Imagine mouth watering games like Southampton v Hamburg, Basle v Swansea City, West Brom v Augsburg, Stuttgart v Stoke City, Eintracht Frankfurt v Everton, Hertha Berlin v Aberdeen, and Werder Bremen v Glasgow Rangers.
    I think this would be an interesting experience of European cross border football for big English Premier teams who often despite being in the top league, can often go 10 years without playing a side from another nations league.
    The final could be at Wembley Stadium every year.
    The games would be intense, passionate and with Scotland and Germany, as two of England’s biggest international derby rivals.
    The number of teams in the trophy could be flexible with even the possibility of inviting the big Dutch teams. Such as Ajax and PSV into the trophy. The Dutch have a big rivalry with the Germans. Some Germans see the Netherlands as their biggest football rivalry, but the Dutch clubs are not as big in financial terms as the
    Why invite Celtic and Rangers?
    I think inviting Celtic and Rangers into the trophy would be vital to add extra big teams into the trophy, who are guaranteed to bring big travelling supports. It could add prestige to the trophy and extra Scotland England rivalry would add to the trophy.
    I accept that in the early rounds, teams might not get big crowds. For instance top English sides might not take playing my favourite team Aberdeen, or Basle, as a big game and would probably get lower crowds than they do in the Premier League. But as the trophy goes on the games would get bigger. If 70,000 fans can turn up for the lower division English trophies then surely can get big crowds for big English Premier and German Bundesliga sides. Also for clubs from Scotland and Austria this would be a massive trophy. So stadiums would be packed. Cup games are more interesting than league football in my view. Winning a cup is more interesting than any league position other than champions or relegation.
    Not a replacement for European football
    I am not suggesting that this trophy would be instead of Europa League and Champions League football. Scottish, English, German and Austria teams would still enter sides in the Europa League and Champions League.
    Would UEFA allow it?
    I do not see why not. After all they have allowed the Royal League in Scandinavia and the Sentana Cup in Irish football, between two different leagues. It would not be a threat to the Europa League and Champions League. It would help Scotland and gives big English and German clubs who do not play in European football, some big games.
    Another addition could be a British German Cup made up of all English Premier and German Bundesliga teams who have not qualified for Europe plus the top 4 sides of Scotland, and top 2 sides, each, of the Northern Ireland and Welsh leagues.
    I would most prefer a British German Cup, with Scottish, Welsh, English, Northern Irish and German sides. It would make the season more fun.

    Based on Stats, it looks like Germany was the slightly better team in this game but lost on the penalty shot. That said, those were some awesome saved by the England goalie. Womans Fifa is soo awesome and I thank all teams for making it such an entertaining 2015.

    Lololololol whoever says England didn't deserve a penalty are Ludacris was a blatant foul with no intention on the German winning the ball. Give England some credit they punched well above there weight in this tournament and we're unlucky in the semis well done england very proud.

      No argument from Sylvia Neid. She said that it was a naiive attempt. What the German girl did, was to try and prevent an opponent from going where she wanted to go. That's a foul, but often ignored. until it happens in the penalty area then it is incumbent on the referee to call a penalty.

    England, the team that has managed to bring back football, a century back. The team is boring to watch (low technical level and no construction). Where is the English football of my childhood, all for the attack and fun?

      @sneekz07 Před 9 lety

      Mariano Pablo You won't see the football from your childhood again because the men's team are useless, while the women's team is constantly improving. Stop bitching and give credit where it is due.

      ***** if england women continue to play this stoke football then they will become shit eventually. Womens football will become more technical in the future just like mens and this hoof it up the pitch play wont work. The men are only just starting to evolve with the likes of wilshire and carrick.

      @sneekz07 Před 9 lety

      Darnoc Ssom Until the men start playing for the badge instead of cash the team will continue to flop. A few of them have passion to win but it's not enough. The entire team has to want it.

    • @darnocssom4547
      @darnocssom4547 Před 9 lety

      ***** passion. Why do the british public always think passion is the reason england does bad. Passion helps but there are much more important factors. U didnt see xavi and inesta running round eveywhere doing stupid tackles. Winning a world cup requires intelligent players who pass and create space and think like xavi and inesta. Thats why germany and spain have won world cups because they have plenty of these players. England have barely of these players because in the youth system they pick stong players rather than small intelligent players

    • @sneekz07
      @sneekz07 Před 9 lety

      Darnoc Ssom Come on. Are Xavi and Inesta not passionate about what they do and how they play? It's passion that drives to you to want to be better and inspire others. Just turning up to the job and doing the bare minimum isn't enough.

      Céleste D Correct! Germany may have won that match, but the more correct term would be they 'SURVIVED' the match with France. France did the U.S. team a big favor by showing them how to best play the Germans.The German team were also worn down by their overtime match with France and needed more time to recuperate. Also, a key German player was injured significantly and couldn't contribute in the game with the U.S.The English team showed the U.S. team how to play most effectively against Japan.

      - In the France v Germany game, the ref did not penalize Germany on minute 29, when a shot by Amel Majri was handed by Mittag (similar to the penalty called against France, minute 80, that tied the game).
      - Sasic and Mittag nearly disappeared in the game v France. Only Marozsan showed up (as a sub for Mittag in 2nd half).
      - Kemme was fouling left and right, should have been red-carded, as she was doing v France much the same she did v England - fouled Sanderson to a decisive penalty.

    Unnecessary foul for that penalty! Kemme was asking for it. The moment she misjudged the bounce, she manhandled no. 20 and clipping of the leg sealed it. Why must female defenders be clumsy in the box?!
    Also, Germany needs a clinical forward like Birgit Prinz.
    Btw, thank you Nadine Angerer. Good luck for your final season with Portland Thorns.

    Funny... all of these hater/negative comments are from guys. Sad, really.
    Imho, women's soccer is far more entertaining than men's soccer. The ladies are enjoying themselves and seem MUCH less interested in getting the referee's attention than putting the ball in the net. I tend to see a lot less rolling on the turf, writhing in "pain".

    Well done ladies! The team has done us proud no doubt. Though there seems to be a groundswell of opinion (Mark Sampson included) that we should regard them as 'Legends' and put them in same bracket as men's 1966 World Cup winning team. Not sure about this. Seems like typical English over-reaction to success or failure. For me, legends win trophies. Feet on ground everyone. Win the Euro's and I will begin to think of you as legends! I will definitely be watching!
