I’ve been running a Central Boiler gasification boiler for nine years now and had to smile at your special tools for cleaning/maintaining your boiler. I had a set of modified tools for cleaning my old unit because I’ve had the same issues with creosote build up in the air charge system. With these units wet/green wood is not your friend! This year I replaced my old E-Classic 1400 with a new Classic Edge HDX 560. This new unit is light years ahead of my old boiler. I’ve only been running it for about three weeks now and can tell you that the maintenance is less complicated and much easier than the old unit. I also wear a dust mask or respirator when I’m doing the maintenance. One thing I would recommend purchasing the flue brush kit p/n 390 to clean the heat exchangers. I bought one from my dealer when we purchased the new boiler and it really works well. It cleans way better than the scrapper and is worth every penny.
I’ll definitely look into that brush, thanks for the advice I appreciate it!
This is why I have the classic CL 6048. No gassification chamber. No reburning. No forced air. Just a big old box with a water jacket. It'll burn wet wood, dry wood, doesn't really matter. Very easy to clean out. Burns a bit more wood, but at least I can go get that in the summer when its nice. Lots less time in the cold taking a dust bath.
I think the trade off of burning more wood but having less to go wrong is probably worth it for sure. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
I know my Hardy outside stove is a whole different animal compared to CB, it's 17 years old and doesn't have any fancy reburn stuff on it. I go through about 3-4 cords a winter for heating and hot water and a third of cord of junk wood in the summer just for hot water but it does the job well.
I have had my Wood Furnace 25 years and got it used ,
I'm actually the 3rd owner !
I'm also a Welder so if it needs repairs ,
NO warranty needed !
Hopefully I’ll have 25 years before I need any thing repaired 🤞🏻
Great video Tony! I'm constantly on CZcams looking for information like this. Thanks!
Thanks for the support Ryan I appreciate it!
Great video Tony! I don’t have a boiler at home, but my career has been in commercial and industrial maintenance for the last 20 years and I know how important your heating water chemicals is to the life of your equipment! Great job on the maintenance 👌🏻
Thanks Brandon!
I just stumbled on your channel and I have to say that is one of the more informative boiler videos. I have been researching different boilers for a while. Your video answered a lot of questions for me.
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
I've been researching boilers for some time and I like to see what's behind the covers to gauge repair and maintenance. You are the first I have seen to show the stepper motor setup that controls airflow. Thanks for making this video!
Your welcome! Like I said in the video, I wish someone else had made a video like this to help me learn how to maintain the boiler. Any chance I get to share information like this that can help someone is a win in my book! Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Really appreciate this video, helped me alot with my woodmaster cleanfire 500. Keep them coming dude great job.
Man I love getting comments like this! CZcams is a great place to share information, I’m so glad I could help! Thanks for watching and the comment I appreciate it, take care-Tony
Nice video. 1 of the best I’ve seen on owb
Thanks I really appreciate you saying that!
Certainly convinces me NOT to go with the gasification units….so many things can go wrong, thanks for making the video!!!
They are definitely way more finicky to keep running.
Due to the 2012 Clean Air Act all outside boilers used for residential purposes must be high efficient "gasification." 8 years ago I called 3 locations before I found a place that would sell me one of the original models.
Man thats all ive heard about lately is picky boilers with this unsually warm winter! Even CB says running machines in warm weather is picky. Now my classic on the other hand rolls no matter when LOL
Hey Jay! Do what you can to keep it alive, you can’t buy them anymore in my part of the world
Very informative video Tony…! I’m sure it will help many folks out there with central boilers…!!!
Thanks Ken!
Thanks a bunch....in my first season with a 550.....you saved me a bunch of grief on fan maintenance....haven't seen it explained as well or at all! Well seasoned wood is a must!
You’re welcome I’m glad I could help! Yes dry firewood is a definite must.
Great tips Tony, this is one of the reason I wanted an older style unit they’re not nearly as fussy about quality of wood! The new unit have a lot of great features though.
The gassers are definitely way more finicky, it can be a pain.
Glad to see you using a respirator. Been telling guys to be mind full of that dust for years (at my own expense). Be safe, good video.
Thanks Dan! That ash dust is so fine you can’t hardly see it sometimes, I don’t like breathing it if I can help it.
Your video was there at the right time. My 750 was pushing weird temps. I had slag in the secondary. Maybe solved. No fancy Harbor Freight picks here though, so I hope my wife doesn’t miss that spoon from the silverware drawer. Keep these coming. A new owner like me appreciates the lessons from someone ahead of my experience.
Hi Bruce, I’m sorry to hear you were having issues but I’m glad I could help! My favorite part of CZcams is being able to share information and help when I can. Take care-Tony
Well done very informational video Tony
Thanks for watching brother I appreciate it!
Thank you for the thoughtful video I don't own a boiler yet but I plan to purchase one and this gives me an idea of what to look for and what are some of the potential downfalls😊😊
You’re very welcome! I love being able to share my experiences with anyone it may help. Thanks for watching I appreciate it, take care-Tony
Nice video Tony, thanks. Stay safe and have a great day… Don
Thanks Don!
Excellent video Tony !!! Nice video work too…..awesome pointing out everything, good and bad. Appreciate you taking the time to share this with everyone. 🔥🪵👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
Thank you Rick!
I appreciate you making this video. We will be installing this brand of boiler in our new house later this year when it gets close to finished. Now i know I need to check certain things when cleaning it. It is very nice that the firewood community here on youtube tries their best to help each other. Whether it is just given info that they have with the good and the bad or physically helping. Thanks again for the info, and keep burning like Trees to Firewood! 😁👍
You’re very welcome I hope it helps you! Your 💯 correct about this CZcams firewood community, all great people will to help each other in any way possible. Thanks for the support and good luck with the new home!
It is very nice to show new and old owners what is all involved to maintain an outside boiler. It is not much different than a large boiler run on fuel oil, Lp, or natural gas. Water maintenance is many times neglected. It’s equally important to cleaning soot and ash. Tony this is a great service to throw this out there. I don’t have an outdoor boiler. I used to operate large boilers at my previous job. Later .
It’s interesting to see the different parts of the boiler and how you maintain it. It appears to be a pretty simple set up once you get used to it.
Hey Matt! Yes once I got the hang of how it all works and how often I should be cleaning things it’s been a great way to heat our home! Thanks for watching, take care-Tony
Very informative Tony great video should get a lot of views.
Thanks for watching Dean I appreciate you!
Your good man help out peoples with central boiler tony. 😊
Thank you Leonard!
Nice video Tony
Great to see how far you came along
Wood shed / bundle wrapper / eastonmade splitter on its way ( last I heard ) how you were able to get more wood in the wood yard
My process has definitely improved over the last couple years! I appreciate you watching and supporting me along the way, it means a ton to me. Have a great weekend!
I’ve operated a CB560 for about 2 months and have watched so many videos. I learned a lot from you and this video was incredibly helpful (and some of the comments were as well). Thank you for your videos - they benefit a lot of people.
Hey Mike, I’m glad I could help you out. It’s tough when you first get started with these boilers, once you get the hang of it you’ll love though. Thanks for the support, have a good day-Tony
I’ve been running an edge for 5 years now, I did the same thing when I first started, drove me nuts trying to get it to run right, now that I know how, I have zero issues, runs like a dream!
I think I’m finally getting it right, I’m loving it now but there was a stretch in beginning I thought I might have mad a mistake buying an outdoor boiler. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Hey Tony. Great video and good on you for showing this to people who may have one or wanting to get one. I don't believe you'll have any warranty issues because you are applying by all the rules and improving your maintenance process.
Kenny
Thanks Kenny! I like being able to share information like this when I can. I’ve learned so much on CZcams, I want to give back to the CZcams community anyway I can! Take care my friend!
I've only seen one other person smart enough to wear a respirator when cleaning the ash area. Suggestion at 11:40 Put some electrical tape on both ends of 1 set of wires so you don't cross-connect if you ever pull both sets at the same time. Great video. I haven't seen anyone take the blowers off and inspect the pipes. I'll have to do that.
Thanks Eric! I will definitely mark one set of wires the next time I service the dampers, thanks for the advice I appreciate it.
Great video on maintaining your boiler!! If you're going to keep tge warranty, might as well follow their directions!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Yes you’re right, I don’t want to mess up my warranty for sure. Thanks for watching Dave I appreciate it!
Nice, informative, relevant presentation. I think your problem with creosote stems from letting the fire go down a lot -- in other words running it with very little load or letting it run out of wood. Creosote happens in ALL of these stoves, and it happens when the temperature in the firebox goes low.
Thank you! I think you’re right about the creosote, the warm temperatures earlier in the burning season didn’t put much load on the system. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome, thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Here in England Tony , I uses Ashes in my garden it's good pot ash it's like Fertilizer good for the plants
How much should I use per bed?
I think the creosote build up is probably due to you not needing much heat with the warmer winter we're having so far.
It's awesome you're going over your boiler and the steps and problems you've encountered and the fixes. Especially since I'm getting a Central Boiler too 😂😂
Be safe my friend ✌️✌️
I think you’re spot on with the creosote buildup, things definitely run a bit better when we get the colder temperatures. Have a good weekend bud!
Hella good video. Thanks.! 🔥
Thanks! I appreciate ya watching thank you.
Great Video on your boiler mataince Tony.
Thanks Jeff!
I have a much different boiler (indoor), but interesting to see how this is set up.
Thanks Eric, I appreciate you watching!
Thank you for the video. I have an E 1450 and strong encourage people to do weekly cleanings and check the primary elbow. These h its require a lot of maint.
There is a lot more regular maintenance than I expected with the outdoor boilers for sure.
@@TCsOutdoors1 I have a bunch of cleaning videos on my EC 1450. You should check them out every week. I spent about an hour and a half cleaning the boiler scraping it back it all out starting all up all over again. Ever since I started doing that 6 -7 years ago it’s worked really well.
I would get creosote build up in my dugout.
And would have too free up the restrictions to get the full affect.
Thanks for the vid! ✌️
Thanks for watching Jason I appreciate it!
Good info Tony! I really like the idea of a new Boiler for us someday? Take care👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Todd! The boiler is great but sometimes I wish I could have went with one with out the gasification. They burn more wood but they have less to go wrong with them.
To what Tony said, watch homestead Jay. He has a old classic and will go to end of earth to keep it going or find another for when he needs it.
I don’t have a boiler but very interesting video Tony!👍👍
Thanks Jeremiah!
One thing Ive learned in all my decades of heating with wood. It burns much better dry than wet, I don't care what kind of firebox you have.
You’re right about that! I try to have a couple year supply to make sure I’m burning well seasoned wood.
great job!!! appreciate your detailed video and no nonsense bull crap talk that most of these youtubers do,, cut to the chase,, we dont care about all the stupid fluff,, your awesome..
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
Excellent video Tony. I have a CB550 very much like yours. I've burned four full years, starting fifth. Have you checked the air passages inside the firebox? Mine came with one panel under door and one connecting panel on each side. At first I removed all those panels each year and they were jammed with creosote. Nasty job to clean. CB came out with a revision to panel under door and tubes on side. I installed their revisions and have not removed for inspection in 2 years. I recommend the tube upgrade to anyone with the older panel system. I have much better air flow out the side tubes. I'm very happy with my CB, but there is a learning curve and your video definitely helps.
Hi John! I haven’t checked the air passages but I know what you’re talking about. I will give them a check in the spring when I do the final cleanup. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. Take care-Tony
Nice video! I think you can remove the tie down bracket that is above the ash door. CB sells a flat brush for cleaning the exchanger. It is part number 390.
I’ll have to check that out thanks! I use a nylon bush at the end of the season once I’ve let the fire go out. It’s flexible and it helps me get the hard to reach places.
The two best things I ever did on my boiler are as follows , first thing I did was not buy a fricken emissions boiler . The second and most important was I bought a Crown Royal and never considered a central. Nice wood shed you have there.
I couldn’t buy a non gasser here in NY unfortunately. Thanks for watching I appreciate it,take care-Tony
@@TCsOutdoors1 oof, that’s too bad.
I use windy days to clean dusty stuff just for plenty of ventilation.
A little wind would have definitely helped!
That stepper motor looks like what my $200 3d printer uses
They are only $50 to replace but they never fail at a good time. I’ve got a new one on the shelf just in case now.
Friend of mine had a classic years ago after 5 years it began to leak . When he called about the warranty it was prorated 20 year so he was responsible for 25% of the cost plus freight to return it to the factory . They did ship it back to his closes dealer after the repair but he was responsible for reinstalling it
That’s good to know about the prorated situation thank you! I hope I don’t have any issues but you never know I guess.
This is a great video👍👍
Do you burn wood year round or just colder months?
I put in a Central Boiler clasic in 2008 and absolutely love it. I can burn year round here in central Pennsylvania and have little to no trouble with creasote.
Thank you! I only run the boiler from October to about April. I don’t think I could keep it running all year without having a creosote issue. The gassers smolder to much and don’t allow the smoke to exit except when the fan runs every 20 minutes. It only runs for a minute or so jut to maintain the coals.
Cool!
Thanks Everett!
You must be an American, no sun with sunglasses. When you take them down, it is easier to see everything.
Greetings from Europe.
Back in 90s they sold crap lines with these, they became fragile and many people had lines break in ther winter. In lewis county ny i helped replace a few with friends. The gave free lines, discount on new insulation, but friends had to pay for digging up, and work labor. After 2nd break in one winter i stopped suggesting them, hope they figured that issue out
Thankfully I haven’t had an issue with my pex lines to the house. I definitely wouldn’t want to have to dig them up. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
I would check for a legal standard because the legal standard in the United States for warranties cannot require you to purchase specific items in order to maintain a warranty. At least not in general it also, from the design of that it looks like the use of anthracite coal might work very well in that particular unit anthracite coal Burns relatively clean and much hotter than the wood that you're using. And would burn for a longer period of time. It would require you to shuffle The Underneath side about once every 12 hours but you could set that up with an automated device to accomplish that.
I think you might be correct about the warranty, they told me I couldn’t use the glycol I purchased because it would interfere with there corrosion inhibitors. I was uneducated about all of it and in a rush to get the installation done. I just followed there instructions and used only water in my system. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Excellent video. Nice setup.
I have some additional info for you and your viewers.
I'm in my fourth season with a 750HD.
I've had the primary flapper stick aswell but I've also had coals come back through the primary and start toasting the wires for the steppers? I think a few wind storms reversed my draft momentarily? I'm not sure if the 350 and 550s have the same problem, but if you have a 750 then the fix is easy. If it is similar on the smaller models it should cut down on the creosote build up. At least it did for me. The next time you check clean the primary air channels locate the air hole in the front panel nearest the tube out to the primary elbow and plug it. I used stainless hardware, 1/4" by 1" bolt, 2 fender washers 1.25" OD and double nuts. Clean the hole, sandwich the washers and lock the nutz. No more issues, have 30 ~ cords through it since.
The ultimate lowest moisture content is governed by your climate. I was schooled by a guy from Europe. The term is EMC, equilibrium moisture content, wood workers and carpenters should now this, I didn't. Anyways they have charts online that give multi year averages for different areas. You can search your area to see what you can hope to achieve with well seasoned wood. The emc numbers work down to freezing.
My 750 came with a moisture meter. I cut a few sample pieces in half and go by an average of the center and edge. In wetter areas it gets harder and harder to dry the center. If your center is still wetter than the outside try splitting smaller.
I'm in a dry area, 5 years into a drought. My meters read 12 or less on any split wood over a year old. Trade off is it gets real cold, hence the 750.
Thanks for watching and for the advice! I haven’t had any issues with a backdraft yet and hopefully I won’t 🤞🏻. I appreciate you watching and sharing your experience with everyone! Take care-Tony
@@TCsOutdoors1 you have nice trees to shield you from the wind. I'm jealous. I have over a 1/2 mile of field to the west, man the wind whistles through here. My 8-9 year old shelter belt is slowly growing, LOL.
Very helpful - I feel like central boiler owes you a favor, lol.
Thanks Paul!
You cannot add too much moly armor also you can use a leaf blower to clean out the ash it's a lot quicker I do this with my 760 HDX
That’s good to know about the moly, thanks! I’ll give the leaf blower a try next cleaning also.
Great video, the click bait worked on me 🙈😂 the question I have is if the ph is like 7 how can you bring it up to 9
Thanks! I’m not sure what you’d use to bring the ph up other than the corrosion inhibitor?
Thorough video Tony! Gets me excited to get an external boiler one day soon ish! If you had to do it all over again, would you get the same unit? Cheers, Alex
Hey Alex! I think I would have went with the next size larger just incase of additional heating loads down the road. Other than that I’m happy with the central boiler, I don’t have experience with any other brands though.
@@TCsOutdoors1 is the boiler rated for square footage or the amount of lines it can feed? I would be looking at a unit that could feed the house, garage and workshop (3 seperate structures)
@@brokenpinesfarm They rate them BTU load, I think there’s an online calculator to help figure that out based on your square footage. I had all the information I needed on the blueprints for the house.
I wish you the best of luck when you have a warranty claim.
I have an E-classic 1400 that I installed 10 years ago. I absolutely loved it till last year when it started leaking. Dealer said warranty won’t cover it. Almost impossible to get ahold of anyone at Central Boiler but when I finally did I got a run around of BS and finally told buy a new one.
Moral of the story, it’ll be a cold day in hell before I buy anything from Central Boiler!!!!!!!
Man I’m sorry to hear you had that kind of trouble with CB. Hopefully I won’t need the warranty but I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
My Garn rotted out to in 5 years. Rust inhibitor used water tested good. POS.
I have the 560. The installation instructions said to use one gallon of moly armor. I remember watching a central boiler video about you can’t add too much, so I put a gallon and a half in it. Went with the old saying, “if a little will do you a little good, then a lot will do you a lot of good.” lol.
What are the dimensions of your wood storage? I’m looking at building a new one and I like the size of it! Thanks.
Hey JT! I ended adding the whole gallon, I was thinking a little extra couldn’t hurt. The wood shed is 10x16 with an extra 10x8 bay on the end I use for totes. Here’s a playlist of the build hopefully it helps you. czcams.com/play/PLmHXNi-ZKGBn138_2V67ZkdCeuPuC9VSu.html&si=JwxRYdK8AftISug4
@@TCsOutdoors1 I appreciate it!
Can you use flue exhaust to season firewood? If not directly maybe by a heat exchanger or something?
I’m not sure.
Try increasing your water temp differential, most manufacturers recommend a 10 or even 5 degree differential. This is way too small in my opinion and experience. I use a 15 degree dif in the winter and a 20 degree dif in the summer when heating my pool. This gives me much longer and hotter burn times which helps eliminate most of the creosote build-up. Fewer, longer burn cycles is the key. You can also try using something like Fluid Film spray in your blower tube. I use it on all my most sensitive build-up areas, and it works great to reduce creosote.
Thanks Sam! I’ll check out my temperature difference for sure, I think it’s set at 10 degrees but I’m not sure. And I’ll definitely give the fluid film a try, I’ve been looking for something to use on the damper lids to prevent buildup.
I had one of those stepper motors slip on the collar where the chain connects and cause stove not to heat up it was a pain to figure out/ motor was turning from computer but not opening valve no air no fire not sure ifs common failure watch out for that
I bet that was a pain to troubleshoot for sure, I’ll definitely keep an eye on that thanks!
I had a older conventional Central Boiler for many years with good experience. I kept a couple parts on hand as spares. A circulating pump, fan motor and a solinoid for the dampener.
I wonder if the two similar looking dampeners on this stove are the same part #? Either way, I would pick up a spare, for the dirtier one at least.
To allow a quick swap out at the stove in cold weather and bringing the dirty part indoors for a cleaning and inspection at your leisure.
@@snakerstran9101 Yes I keep a few parts on hand. The stepper motor is the same on both so I have one spare and I have a circulating pump. I have been thinking about picking up a blower motor and then I’d have all the quick repairs covered. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Very interesting that they attempt to force you to use their product. I believe the Magnusson Act says a manufacturer can not mandate which product you use to maintain warranty. Might be worth looking into.
I wasn’t very happy when I found out. I couldn’t use the glycol I purchased because they said it would affect my warranty. Something to do with there corrosion inhibitors reacting with it.
@@TCsOutdoors1 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson%E2%80%93Moss_Warranty_Act specifically the part about the requirement to use branded parts.
@@LakesideAcres Thanks!
There is always creosote when burning wood .. the problem is the heat.. if you burn wood above 20% you have a harder time burning it off.. at 30% you can't get the temperature high enough to burn it off and will have a chimney fire sooner than later.. your getting creosote from when it idols down and the smoke lingers not creating heat or draft..
Thanks, that makes sense! The temperatures this year have been pretty warm, the boiler spend more time idle than anything.
I got a super old johnson boiler. by chance what did you pay for the 350? Mine so inefficient I really need to do something better.
When I purchased 4 years ago or so it was around 9k. They have gone up a bit, I think they are around 11 now or maybe a bit more.
👍👍
Thanks Bill! 🪵🔥👍🏻
Tony, would you still recommend to someone that is in the market buying a boiler to buy the Classic Edge boiler?
Hi George! Yes I would recommend a central boiler but I would urge everyone to do their own research. I don’t have experience with any other brands, I chose a central boiler because of the location of boiler dealers in my area along with the warranty. I have a dealer 20 minutes away so when I’ve had trouble or questions it’s a quick run over for parts and advice. Thanks for the question and the support along the way, take care-Tony
Have you ever pulled the firebox floor to clean and replace the gasket?
No, I’m not sure it has a gasket. There is an air charge tube and fire bricks that blows air down to the gasification chamber.
@@TCsOutdoors1 I no my 760 has one and the say to pull floor and change every year
Wow, yer going to feed that stove premo firewood. Put up a steal cover and put the stove close. then, load firewood under it😢.
This is why i run central boiler classic . To much maintenance with these gasification boilers.
They definitely can be a bit more aggravating to keep running. Thanks for stopping by I appreciate it!
As a x cb dealer for 18 years. You will always get screwed over on the warranty !!!!
That’s not very good news
hi there interesting john
Hey John, thanks for stopping by!
It always seems that the higher the quality the stricter the warranty. I guess it’s forced preventative maintenance?
That could be? Central boiler is very particular on what chemicals you can use and even antifreeze. I had to run just water because I couldn’t get any of the approved glycol that they accepted in time to install my system. Restrictions like that kinda put the consumer at risk and I think they could be a little more forthcoming with the information before purchasing.
@@TCsOutdoors1 I completely understand that, awesome video brother
It’s a shame how complex they are making these outdoor wood boilers I have an old boiler I may just modify and make my own outdoor wood boiler when my house is built 😂
I think you can still buy the classic style, it depends on your local municipality codes. I had to use a gasser here in NY unfortunately
yeah, makes sense. I know they have all kind of rules and regulations around here but guess what I’m in the middle of nowhere so I think I will just get one and install it who would ever know 🤫 Haha
DO not burn soft wood. pine?
Hi Steven! I have only burned hardwood in the boiler, mostly Ash and maple with a little cherry mixed in. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it!
Morning Tony , this is a very good video . I don’t have a boiler but I still find this very interesting on the maintenance of one . The way you take care of it , it will last you a very long time !!! 👍🏻🪵🔥
Morning Del! Thanks for watching, there has definitely been a learning curve but I think I have pretty good system now.
Probably already know this but don't burn pine. Fire pit yes. Boiler no. Just my opinion.
Thanks Don! I don’t have much pine in my area, but when I do get it I’ll save it for bundles.
wow dont want that much work! il just empty the ashpan on my warm morning stove in the mud room. it heats the whole house.
Yes the outdoor wood burners have a bit more routine maintenance to them. I’m not sure how often the older non gasification boiled need to be cleaned.
Is it possible that the stuff settles out when boiler not in use? Luke, i am your father! 😅😅😅. Woodstove so much easier. Like Jack said its warm so there hasnt been much good hot hard burning. Thumb looks like me when i open fertilizer bill
Yeah I think that’s what happens, it’s been so warm the fire doesn’t run a whole lot it just smolders. I tried my best Darth Vader impression but it didn’t make the cut🤣🤣
You should watch FarmCraft101 his video on his boiler, seems like a much better machine, he has been doing this for many years..
Thank you I will check him out!

Sorry the weather wasn’t very nice for any outdoor burning. I do have a video that I linked at the end demonstrating how I use them and how long they burn. Hope this helps, take care-Tony
You're getting creosote because it hasnt been cold enough to make the boiler really work. Its been smoldering all winter. But based on the trouble you and a few other people are having i know i will never have a gassifier. Too fussy to be dependable for me. Take care Tony
Yeah I think you’re spot on with that! If I could have I would’ve went with the classic style, but in NY that’s not an option to many regulations. Thanks for watching I appreciate it, take care-Tony
I'm curious if you have cut down on the quantity of wood added at fills during the warm spells? Maybe a 1/2 full or 1/4 fill.
