      @@greenwave819 yeah I hope it’s not a mistake. I’m also a big skier so that forward facing movement is exciting. In Winnipeg 🇨🇦 even the OW is rare and the EUC is unknown. I’m tired of the 30kph OW nose dives and the v12 should be easily capable of 40kph-50kph. Plus the range is awesome. I’m on my Ultra charger all the time. anyway that’s for the positive thoughts and should have it in the next 2 weeks 🤞.

    I'm so curious about this wheel! I didn't think anything of it when it was first released, but seeing the reviews makes me think this one should be on the short list. However, I'm a v11 rider and I love suspension. I just think all wheels should have suspension. It works well, keeps the tire on the road, and make the ride smooth. Hopefully the v11 and v12 will have a baby that grows up to be the ultimate wheel!

    Cooch, I enjoy your videos and enthuasium. After 3 years on a KS16S, I just got the V12. Cool wheel, but a different feel from the KS16S. With twice the weight, it doesn't want to initially make a turn, but is responsive once you get it turning. I am sorting out the wheel settings, pedal height, and tire pressure. Thanks for you and the folks out there for sharing great information. Enjoy the ride.

    • @lashley370z
      @lashley370z Před 2 lety +4

      I'd recommend putting the V12 pedals on the lowest position until you get really comfortable on the wheel. Put the tire pressure at 45. If you weigh over 200,maybe 48 on the tire pressure. Every wheel rides different. After a month on the V12, you'll think the 16s rides weird.

    • @Skrippykrotangler

      The RS sounds like a safe option for us bigger guys mang, but I'm 240 and I still chose to pre-order the V12HT over an RS or a suspension wheel as my first EUC. I'm just gonna cross my fingers and hope that with higher tire pressure the tire and tube will hold up well to my weight. Doubt I'll be riding much if at all off road as i want to maximize my riding time before something breaks and I have to send it off for servicing. The V12 just looks so nimble and torquey and fun to ride in the city. If I really like EUC like I think I will, then my second wheel will likely be a suspension wheel as I ain't getting any younger. 42. Hope this helps. I done alot of research before I finally decided on the V12HT.

    TL;DR I wish there were more tires available; ones designed specifically for EUC type stresses would be a bonus.
    Russ Writes Another Novel (#adhdlife):
    Too bad we can't get something like the Nokian studless ice compound on a tire for this - those things literally stick to ice. Got a set of Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV (the SUV models have bulletproofed sidewalls) for the FXT and I've never seen the like. One of the few tires that actually does get stickier the colder it gets - the downside is they only really work when the weather stays *below* 47°F continuously and they start getting pretty spongy at 65°F so you have to have summer tires when it hits 60°+ and at 70° they feel...goopy. Unsafe at any speed, literally. Match the shoes to the sport and the field, right?
    Since you're a snow rider too as well as have traveled to Oregon just to ride, where Colorado gets that nice fluffy snow, you're gonna want something different for the types of snow you get in Oregon and definitely something that can at least traverse black ice without throwing you in a ravine (it's kind of like riding over a really really fat train track in the rain at an angle - FUN!). Since you have a few wheels, definitely set up *two* for snow so if you get to where you're going and you break one you can still have the better part of fun. A colleague of mine works for Trimble in Boulder (IIRC it's in Boulder) as a field engineer - yep, fun job, but the point is that he told me while he lived here in Oregon that while it's drop dead gorgeous literally everywhere you also literally can't hike anywhere because of the jungle. I've never been to Colorado so I asked him what he meant - he said that in the Rocky Mountains there isn't so much underbrush that when you see a point off somewhere in the distance it's usually not too difficult to get over there, but that trailbreaking in Oregon was *brutal* and exhausting as well as time consuming, taking away from his urge to really investigate as much of the outdoors as he was accustomed to on a trip.
    I know nobody asked but I have a mten I rode around the house and while I didn't break it I didn't get to ride it much as the tire wasn't too sturdy (I'm like 235lbs lol), I have a V10F in the mail to build up my supply of gear like pads and pads for when the V12 and eventually the S20 arrive - and I've looked for tires for all of those and there is not much to choose from and most aren't even available.
    Would love to get with Michelin or Bridgestone on some fat lug enduro tires...I already decided it's probably going to be simpler and stronger upgrade to figure out how to adapt the motor to a rim that not only fits in the assembly but has a *wide* range of tires available from *many* manufacturers.
    If I was a millionaire, I would totally buy a small US tire manufacturing plant and just sell overpriced tires into EV niche markets - we're going to need whole new classes of tires for EV, that's very clear to me some time ago. If you think I'm joking, try sourcing tires that won't actually come apart on you for a 2003 Eurovan; they're heavy af with an audi high performance V6 in it - what did people think was going to happen tires that *fit* but *aren't rated* ? :-)
    Because of the terrain available to ride here I am literally looking for SAND compatible tires for the S20 and if I find some - anyone who rides knows I'm going to need another S20 or have to keep swapping TIRES because we can't yet swap RIMS. I can't carry spares, I can't just trade with someone, etc. Tires don't like being mounted/unmounted a lot and I've snapped plenty of beads so just know it happens and you should probably be wearing safety glasses if you don't already wear glasses when you are changing literal tires and not just swapping whole rims.

    • @russellzauner
      @russellzauner Před 2 lety

      PSA: always download maps, use both gps and inertial tracking, and take extra batteries/powerpacks when heading anywhere out of town in Oregon. The terrain is EXTREMELY hostile towards radios and gps in the entire Pacific Northwest.
      The upside is you can usually find water if you have a filter cup that works with cryptosporidium (Beaver Fever).
