I am a night owl. Always been. So was my grandmother. My mother was a morning person. Getting up for school was a tough one for me i needed 2 alarm clocks ⏰ and even then I still hit the snooze. But I did fine in school actually and went on to college and finished it up with a trade school program which I went to become a medical assistant. And from there the 2 medical jobs i had were working in the urgent care area working the afternoon shift 3pm~11pm. If im up early (before 12 noon) it takes me forever to even leave the house. Sometimes I just can't mentally wake up but let me say when a certain time comes around its like my inner biological clock goes DING DING and im fully awake fully alert and ready to go... So when I hear someone say that a night owl person is lazy that bothers me because I'm not lazy. And I'm sure a lot of other people aren't either they just prefer nights.
I respect your opinion but just to tell you the truth. Saying I am a night owl is pure BS. Everyone should wake up early if they want good heart health thats how human beings work. You say you have trouble waking up early. Thats cuz your life style is unhealthy. Being infront of screens all day, not doing sport daily , drinking Coffee not eating healthy will make any body have trouble sleeping and waking up early. I am a Person who used to wake up at 9-10 and now I wake up at 4:30 no problem. It is all due to how healthy Our Life style is
@@ahmedfareed1995 Oh stfu...I go to bed at 2:30am and wake up at 10:30am and I feel amazing. Strong as an ox, 195 lbs of muscle little buddy. Our lifestyle is fine, you early morning people just need to cope and stfu
I still don't think much information was given, unless I missed something. I get that trying to change your sleep schedule can be stressful on the body, but it you are being as productive and working a night shift job, does that make it better, or am I still going to deal with most of the general side effects? I've never been a morning person, which has caused me to be tired during school for many years, and even in jobs in my later years. I know I'm a night owl and I am aware that my sleep schedule is completely a mess. I expect nothing more than the negative effects. Though if I can eventually make a proper structure for my sleeping, I would hope to feel some benefits of a good sleep, and a better productive day (evening/night).
Read or listen to the neuroscientist Matthew Walker. Massive research on all aspects of sleep and the effects it has on our health and wellbeing. I was after the same information and it's all there. Incredibly useful.
The most important thing, whether you're a night owl or morning lark, is to keep a steady sleep schedule. Go to bed at the same time every evening/night, and get up at the same time.
That is horrible. What if you work graveyard and a doctor. My grandpa went to bed at 7pm and woke up at 4am and he got heart disease and unfortunately passed away in his early 70s. I think that is still young.
@@imankasthuri6527 true he could have just been eating fatty foods or not anuf protein or somthing or he just didnt work out alot or he was overwheight or underweight or his body was just very much too old to keep on going
I seriously don't understand how earlier birds are said to be healthier and more productive than night owls. Either way, you're gonna get the sleep you need (hopefully) to be able to function that following day. Whenever you wake up and start your day. There has to be more to it like your diet. It might even be in your family history which you can't control. I understand that getting very little sleep is bad for you. I don't know what sleeping too much does. I know it gives me a headache. I also tend to still feel tired which is why I tend to roll over and go back to sleep. It's hard to get up when you're tired.
If i am not wrong, being a night owl is only a major problem if you don't get enough sleep. But that is only if you don't have a job at all and can sleep until 12 in the afternoon everyday tho.
Also I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but........... Early risers are very good followers but find it very difficult to think outside the box or going against the trend.
For anyone finding this video in the modern day, please consider the following: Night Owls tend to be people who find it easier to go to bed late and night and wake up earlier in the morning. They can sleep the same amount of hours and get the same amount of energy out of sleep as someone who wakes up early, but unfortunately jobs and how society works is not accommodating of this issue. Looking into research associated with the genetics regarding what causes us to sleep at certain times, it has been found that approximately 1/3 of the population is predisposed to being a "Night Owl." These people are not Night Owls of their own accord, but are simply predisposed to and get the most rest out of having an 'out of the norm' sleep cycle. They're simply not productive at early hours of the day not because they 'didn't get enough sleep' but rather because their brain is simply not awake at that hour of the day. Instead of punishing a 1/3 of the population for being how they are, we should strive to make steps to make everyone able to be more efficient. Modern schooling has been panned by many doctors working in the sleep field because it starts way too early for many students to be awake and at their most productive when being taught information. As such, Early Birds tend to get better grades, which is not due to them somehow having higher intelligence, but simply because they have a more awake mind for more of the school day than a Night Owl would. So if you ever feel like you're waking up with the adequate amount of sleep but not enough energy, try and find some way to get yourself into a situation where you can do your work at the most awake hours of the day for YOU. It's better than slogging through 6 AM workloads and making mistakes when you can hardly keep your eyes open, lol.
Won’t it be better if we had a stand up sleeping bed instead of flat ones that weaken us each day due to gravity and we’d have the strongest bones alive. True story.
