Hampden Park (Pàirc Hampden in Scottish Gaelic) is a football stadium in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is also the Scottish National Stadium and home to the Scottish national football team.
Hampden Park has a long history, having opened in 1903. Until 1950, the stadium was also the one with the largest spectator capacity in the world, with space for up to 150,000 football fans.
After various renovations and the stricter safety regulations that apply today, the stadium currently still has around 52,000 seats.
The current appearance goes back to various renovations, especially in 1999 and most recently in 2014.
In addition to football matches, other major sporting events have taken place at Hampden Park, including during the 2012 Olympic Games. The stadium also houses the offices of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and the Scottish Football Association (SFA).
