Given the number of facehuggers we see ACTIVE - An egg-layer would need to be in the picture at some stage, and thus would also likely need a hive.
Alvarez acknowledges extended scenes from Aliens, but could that also mean he acknowledges extended scenes from Alien - in particular, the egg-morphing scene.
If so, perhaps this movie won't have a queen! If this station was set to be a place on experimenting & analysing the xenomorph, perhaps we'll discover new facts about the creature.
How it secretes resin. How it evolves. How it egg-morphs.. etc. Just a thought.
So far the movie seems to have the look nailed, just hope the story delivers.

@@bedfordshiremodeller4491 it would have stirred up the nest, the only downside I see on Aliens is that the fire might have reached the fusion reactors the marines was told not to shoot. Tricky situation but then again on alien Romulus the hive could be situated around something similar.

I want a alien sequel that tells the story of jonesy and what happened after Ripley left him behind in aliens. Who adopted him? Did he meet a female cat and started a family? Was he ultimately dissected by the company just in case. So many important and tantalizing questions. 😂

I think the director is going to Ret Con Aliens and claim the Queen was the result of a drone absorbing Nuclear Fushion from the Atmosphere Processor and mutated into an egg layer.
Did anyone wonder how Cameron felt in 2003 when Sir Ridley released a Directors Cut of Alien? You know, the one where we learn that victims of the Big Chap turn into new eggs; Aka, the Ovumorphs.
Remember how the Ovumorphing of Dallas and Brett was also changing the structural integrity of the hull?
I believe these latest images are long after the station crew had located and inadvertently awoke the Big Chap.
I think he got loose for a time, and ovummorphed some of the crew before he was neutralized for the second time.
I'm leaning in the direction that there is NO Queen in thus film....not at first anyways....

Well their was the start of ahive in the Directors cut of Alien/Captain Dallas is found trapped by the solid xenomorph stasis

The hive looks more like the hive from the deleted Dallas cocoon scene from Alien
You know what always bugs me and don’t get me wrong I get that most characters are very scientific based in the alien movies but if I saw a big egg that I never seen before yeah I wouldn’t go near at all and if I saw a hive yeah I’m just stay away from it and not even gonna touch it right away.

It might be because I’m looking at this from a phone screen but the immediate thought I had was that it was the leftovers from Big Chap moulting. Maybe that’s why they’re investigating? We’ve yet to see a Praetorian on the big screen, Big Chap might have morphed to that on its way towards Queen.

Maybe a controversial opinion, but for me there hasn’t been a great alien film since alien 3.. would be nice to have a really good epic alien film again, but 2024 Hollywood ain’t capable of that, sadly I’d say brace for disappointment
I want to be excited for this, but so far it looks like a well made fan film remake of the first two films.
First Ripley, now Rain. Same outfit styles, similar pulse rife and flame thrower, hives again, same type of shot of Rain near a grated elevator like Ripley at the end of Aliens etc. Someone showing her how to use the pulse rifle... JUST LIKE Hicks did in Aliens yay. Cringe.
I don't want a memberberries film... Feels like the execs said "We need another Ripley, right? OK, and how bout some hives and some flamethrowers and rifles again, because everyone loved those in the first two films. OK, how about some shoes for Rain that look like Ripley's Reeboks. Annnnnd let's make the inside of the ship look like the Nostromo, because everyone loves that style and it's not as if they can watch the original again".
Last, but not least, shooting on digital almost always makes a film look cheap and bland, when compared to older 35mm and Anamorphic. This film could cost 80 million, and I can already predict that it will look cheaper than most of the previous Alien films, despite the big budget.

I would just say that if you actually recap and watch the original 1979 alien trailer that shit is haunting maybe even more scary than the actual movie, I am guessing that fede is working with that trailer editor day and night to make sure his trailer is just as hair raising, really tho go and watch it's amazing
There’s Rumors that the space jockey will be shown on home planet in end credits
According to newly released rumours,the story starts with a spaceship discovering the remains
of the first xenomorph from the alien movie.They bring it to the nearest spacestation and extract it
for eggs which creates the facehuggers.Then the whole spacestation gets infected and all the humans
dies,and leaves a big xenomorph hive behind.
When contact is lost with the other spacestations.A spaceship is sendt to investigate.
Then a battle breaks out,and only one off the investigators manage to escape.
Or did she? In the end we see that she also is infected and she sets the escapepod to self construct,but
before that happens,the escape pod lands on a unknown planet with small humanlike beings,but with blue skin.
And that makes a cliffhanger for a follow-up movie ?
If the synthetic dies or gets hacked backlash a coming 😂 but it does look cool

I think it will be the Force Awakens for the Alien universe, Good, until you realise it is multiple sources from the Alien Franchise stitched together. Think of it as Alien Trilogy on the Sega Saturn.

Back in the day the fourth chapter in the Alien series Alien Resurrection brought some neet ideas which wasn't executed to their full potential such as the one in which the scientist were using humans as subject for xenomorph impregnation. The whole movie Alien Romulus could be centered around that to provide some tenison, drama and possibly depth of the story and characters. But no. I guess we need another cliche body horror action flick with the female in the lead
