Finding the Combination to a Safe

  • Forgot the combination to your safe? This video may help you out! NOTE: This is NOT a video on how to "crack" a safe. You must have the door open to be able to follow these instructions. This is a situation where I have the key that overrides the lock, but not the combination. This video shows how to find the combination by manipulating / observing the locking mechanisms within the door.

    This was SO helpful. The place I moved into has a safe that was left by the previous tenants, thankfully it was left open (no key). I was racking my brain on what to do w/o calling a locksmith and paying who knows how much and probably would have done the same thing you showed. It worked, thank you so much!!

      You say the door is open. So you can't take the cover off when the bolts are out? I'm assuming you don't have a key? You will need to contact the company. • @PhilCrockett
      @PhilCrockett  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes I can help! You can call the manufacturer of the safe, and they will tell you what you need to do. You WILL most liked have to fill out a form, and have it Notarized by a "Notary Public". You will also need the Model number and Serial Number of the safe. This will then be verified and the records will be updated with your info in the companies system as you being directly associated / owner of this safe. You will then pay a price for new keys and may be given the combination to the safe.

I always do the combination for her except when I get to the last number I stop right before it reaches the number. I gave her the single number 55 which is the last number of the combination and she knows to turn it approximately 3 digits to 55 to get it to open. As long as she doesn't move it any farther than 3 digits from 55 she can lock and unlock her safe. That's the only way she can work a safe.

      Adam Smith Phil Crockett yes. It is contact manipulation. With direct entry fence/wheels, like the model in the video, you measure the movement of the handle into a gate. With a drop in fence you measure the contact points of the fence into the gates. A stetoscope is only useful if you can't feel the drop in points like a bank vault where the wheel pack is almost a foot away from the dial.
      Its basically touch and sight (minimal changes of measurements of dial numbers) what is used in a successfull manipulation. So yes, to open a safe using sound only is a Hollywood myth.
