You're the first guy I've ever heard describe the eyeglass screwdriver on the corkscrew as a protector lol. Then I actually facepalmed a few minutes later when you describe the ballpoint pen in the scales as a punch.
Ummm that isnt a corkscrew protector. It is an eyeglass screw driver. You do know how to use Google right? In about 15 seconds you can pull up a diagram of Swiss army knife tools. Please do actual research before posting to the public. Yes that is a pen not a pin. You missed more but I have spent enough of my time here. Good luck.
@@sciencediscoverysanimalenc8572 I hope your sarky remark isn't directed at me since I actually pointed out what you are saying. You should have written it as a separate comment directed at the uploader.
One slight point it is not a "protector" on the corkscrew although it does have that advantage it is a mini screwdriver perfect for eye glasses. The removable item you thought was a "punch" is in fact a pen.
Love the swiss army knives. A couple of things, @3:51 the protector is another screwdriver, @4:45 its a ballpoint pen. And my favorite and my EDC is the Executive. My dad has carried one as long as I can remember, as a kid, when his scissors would inevitably break, he would give them to me. I have my own non-broken one now that I am old enough to buy it. Lol
I've had a couple of those and carried them on my keychain. The side panels would usually break off first before the little spring on the sisters would go missing. It's always nice to grow up and get everything you wanted. Well maybe not everything.
Looks like the champ xl model. The hook is a parcel carrier, when packages were wrapped with twine. Sides include tweezers, toothpick, and ball point pen. There is also a crimper on the pliers for electrical connections, and the large flat screw driver has a small notch for stripping wire. The fish scaler also has a notch on end, used for fish hook removal. The protector on the cork screw is actually a small flat head screwdriver for eye glasses... Also... few notice the small needle behind the corkscrew, intended for splinter removal. You can find used champ swiss army knives for $40-$60 on ebay. Genuine modern Swiss Army Knives will say Victorinox on the large blade.
Doesn't Harbor Freight have a Swiss Army knife? Also on that big red one you showed, I think that first bottle opener is actually a can opener. Works kind of like a P38.
I opened many a can with that can opener before everything started coming with the pull tab. That thing is sharp. It took several minutes to open a 3 lb can of coffee, but it worked.
The small hook at 03:10 is the Parcel Carrier. Remember when packages were wrapped in brown paper and then secured with string wrapped around all the sides? And someone was needed to hold the string in place while you made the final knot. Then you take out your Swiss Army knife, and you drop the Parcel Hook down and "hook" it on the string and use the whole knife as a handle and lift the package. No string then cutting into you fingers while you comfortably carry the heavy package to the Post Office.

My Vic Compact is perfect for EDC. It's very flat and together with the Nitecore Tip Flashlight it sits right next to my phone with a pocket clip holding both up. I can't feel it at all and though it's a little expensive it combines even more tools in a small package than the average swiss knife.
I'm a big fan of the Leatherman Micra & don't leave home without the little guy in my pocket for over 20 years. I also carry the Leatherman Skeletool, but the Micra is by far my favorite &t he most often used. Sláinte
Road Dog I bought the Leatherman Squirt about 3 weeks ago and can't believe how many times it has come in handy. The size is great because it fits in the little 5th Jean's pocket. Similar to the micra.
I've tested every magnifying glass victorinox currently sells, and yes they all are capable of starting a fire. Its pretty easy too. All you require is a sunny day. Unfortunately that makes them not an ideal method for fire on their own. I mostly use them to avoid using up my ferro rod. If I have a lighter or the weather is good I use those first. The ferro rod is more of a safety net in how I use it. It doesn't require butane or sun. But if I have butane or sun. I'm not using it.
I thought something out that's even better. I bought a swiss army knife without the magnifying glass but i keep a fresnel lens in my wallet. They are just the size of a credit card, fit in your wallet and only cost 5 dollar. It's more decent than the mag on a swiss army knife. You can get them here on amazon: amzn.to/2RTytQR
I have the champ and the 580, both really nice tools. I always carry the 580. I also have the one that had the integrated USB Thumbdrive (that they don't make anymore). Mine had a whole 128MB of storage which was useless. A while ago, I found this knife and I reverse engineered the shell and then disassembled a microSD to USB3 reader. I 3D printed the replacement shell and it fit perfectly. I put a 32GB card in it. It works really nice but I just don't rely on thumbdrives much at all anymore. So I carry my 580. I have my other man killer and my Leatherman too.
My favorite is the Victorinox Swisstool, it's a bit large and heavy so not idea pocket carry, I've belt carried mine for many years now, I'd say that it's a real quality tool, a bit better than Leatherman's actually,....and I do own a few of them too. Probably the biggest negative of the Swisstool is that it doesn't have a one handed blade deployment, if that's really important than the Leatherman is for you.
The 580 is not a Victorinox original. It was from the old Wenger line made in the Delemont plant. Either way, it's still Swiss made, and still a "Swiss Army Knife."
You picked a good one there I have carried a Swiss Champ for 44 years sadly not the same one but I also have other models too and am never without one the are as far as I am concerned the best pocket knife on the planet and the customer service is excellent too. Camper. The Hiker has the same tools except the corkscrew is replaced with the philips screwdriver. The one in this video (camper) is actually an older one probably 1985-1992. New ones are almost identical though
The Tinker doesn't get anywhere near the respect it deserves. I've carried one just about every day in all kinds of conditions for about 40 years. I've lost a couple, destroyed the scales on one of them, and given several away. The only thing I haven't done is break one. I will not leave home without it.
Jesus, at least look up what the tools are before you list the tools. You dont know what you're talking about. The "protector" in the corkscrew is a eyeglass screwdriver.
That’s a little mini screwdriver, not a corkscrew cover. Also, the knife has a straight pin....behind the corkscrew. It’s NOT a punch. It’s ball point pen!
It’s why I carry my leatherman surge with a 9 inch jigsaw blade that can be used in the file slot, and it can cut down trees as well as amputate a limb
Workchamp plus is bigger. Boatman, too. Not surgical steel--much better! Vic-tor-i-nox. You're adding an extra syllable. No, red scales were not the original.
Swiss Champ is too big, Wenger scissors are bad comparing to Vic scissors. Best models for me are 3-4 layers like Huntsman, Climber or Explorer. The newer Explorer as i heard pretty often has problems with magnifying glass

"A centre punch, a hole puch, who knows?" Well you certainly don't. I think you;ll find it's a pen! A corkscrew protector? Jesus you yanks are thick - it's a screwdriver which is ideal for tightening small screws on spectacles. Get your facts before waffling!!

To be honest way better choose is Vic Ranger. Why? Ranger have most of usable tools and he is a lot thinner. I keep Champ in a backpack and work. Ranger is always in a pocket.

Great video though. We learn a lot.👍🏼
what is the name of the black one with a saw, its after the hugh one
Camper. The Hiker has the same tools except the corkscrew is replaced with the philips screwdriver. The one in this video (camper) is actually an older one probably 1985-1992. New ones are almost identical though
Looks like a camper
Wait till he finds the swisscard
Does anyone know what the best begginer victorinox knife is? Thanks in advance.
Omar Dheyab i would recommend the huntsman, but if you want to just start get a classic sd
My every day carry for 16 years has been the Officer model very much like your black one
Looked it up. You're right. No saw though. How will you cut your arm off?
Xplorer Steve DIY 😜😜 I am a gimped up old man, no danger of me hiking in the wilderness lolololololol
Center punch ??!! Lol it's a PEN, hope you've get it since!!
I carry a Cadet in Black ALOX
The Tinker doesn't get anywhere near the respect it deserves. I've carried one just about every day in all kinds of conditions for about 40 years. I've lost a couple, destroyed the scales on one of them, and given several away. The only thing I haven't done is break one. I will not leave home without it.
32 tools in one knife handle
Jesus, at least look up what the tools are before you list the tools. You dont know what you're talking about. The "protector" in the corkscrew is a eyeglass screwdriver.
Chill out
Yeah and the punch is a ink pen.. lol
Not very well thought out video
Hesathick bastard....UNSUBSCRIBE
Lol can opener is a bottle opener, what a pratt
And he keeps saying "Victorianox". He doesn't even get the name right.
Tha black Swiss army knife shown in the video...which is it...the name...give me the name....plz...
Huntsman
@@XplorerSteveDIY thank u sir...
Did you know all of your tool and how to use
You have a pen and eye glasses screwdriver and the hook is for your hooks on things and you can carry it
Nice video 👌
Please didregard following comment. Able to play video. Thanks
Got one it's a champion of the SAK.
Saw pvc
Are you kidding me ?!?!?!? That "punch" is a flippin pen!!!!!
I'd be dead in the canyon.
I think that one slide out tool in the bigger knife is a pen. Not 100%.
Brian Morrow : Yes, it's a ballpoint pen, not a punch unlike the reviewer said.
That’s a little mini screwdriver, not a corkscrew cover. Also, the knife has a straight pin....behind the corkscrew. It’s NOT a punch. It’s ball point pen!
No matter what happens, I am NOT cutting my arm off with a SAK.
It’s why I carry my leatherman surge with a 9 inch jigsaw blade that can be used in the file slot, and it can cut down trees as well as amputate a limb
I seriously think the small pliers is not very useful because of it's size.
Victorinox skipper blue is the best!
Looked at it. Nice with the thumb hole deployment and lanyard.
Huntsman is the best for me
A Ranger owner says hi :-)
There is a knife called the rescue bro.
I have a huntsman
I like the Huntsman.
Workchamp plus is bigger. Boatman, too.
Not surgical steel--much better!
Vic-tor-i-nox. You're adding an extra syllable.
No, red scales were not the original.
Victorianox...
It's a pen, not a punch !
Ahhhhhh. so it is...
Swiss Champ is too big, Wenger scissors are bad comparing to Vic scissors. Best models for me are 3-4 layers like Huntsman, Climber or Explorer. The newer Explorer as i heard pretty often has problems with magnifying glass
Your reviews are the best Steve. Even if I didn’t need something, I would buy it based on your product reviews alone. If you’re not already doing it, find a way to get these companies to start sponsoring and compensating your genius 👍🏽😃
Thanks NPGP. Nice complement. I like my free and easy CZcams presence and would hate to complicate it with responsibility. Walking away for a couple few weeks here and there is nice. guilt free.
hahaha youre a funny guy
"A centre punch, a hole puch, who knows?" Well you certainly don't. I think you;ll find it's a pen! A corkscrew protector? Jesus you yanks are thick - it's a screwdriver which is ideal for tightening small screws on spectacles. Get your facts before waffling!!
So you decide to insult a whole country? And yous guys is all pufdas, yea?
David - OK so the presenter didn't research a few obvious areas. Not really a reason to shoot him (and a whole nation) down in flames. Offer constructive critique and he'll improve. Got to give the chap credit for producing content in the first place! :-)
First focus. Then explain.
Everyone should just purchase themselves a Swiss Champ and edc it. All this fuss about this one being the best and that one being pocket friendly is just tit for tat. The Champ may be slightly chunkier than the rest but it’s so satisfying to know you have what you need at all times. 😉
To be honest way better choose is Vic Ranger. Why? Ranger have most of usable tools and he is a lot thinner. I keep Champ in a backpack and work. Ranger is always in a pocket.
why ohhhh why do you keep pronouncing victorinox as victoria-nox??? Is that like a Nuc-u-lar for Nuclear thing?
Okay "Vic-tor-i-nox, Vic-tor-i-nox." There. Fixed it. 😊
Xplorer Steve DIY alright, I’ll stop whining now. and you got a sub 👍🏼
what a disaster..this guy is clueless..the corkscrew protector is a mini screwdriver...
the first bottle opener is a can operner/ screwdriver
the chissel is a small screw driver
Thought the same... almost wanted to tell him while watching haha.
Dude stop that
Peeky poo?
Lost mine to the TSA.
Thats' a "gimme a ticket refund, Ill keep my knife." :)
Check ebay, you can find nice swiss army knives for $20 for basics, $60 for the champ.
Make sure it says Victorinox on the large blade.
Damn TSA!
Wow You dont even know what the difrent tools is.....
