- The Gift of the Crysknife from Shadout Mapes to Lady Jessica is scored with this piece by Theo Green featuring Czarina Russell's vocals. Credited at the end of the film, this piece is not a part of any of the soundtrack releases for DUNE.
Ethereal... And the perfect example of the Missionaria Protectiva work on Arrakis. I wish it was on one of the released soundtracks; that short scene is one of my favorite moments in the movie thanks to the music as well.
Very well said. What's even more puzzling is there are about 3 different albums released for this film, and not 1 of them include this lol. A few other great melodies weren't included either now that I think about it.
It is one of the most important scenes. Especially if yourve read all the books. Perfect music to paint the whole picture...
Honestly, one of my favorite scenes in cinematic history. Long live the Sisterhood!
The Emperor protects.
Part 2 deeply needed more of this kind of mysticism. Absolutely brilliant and one of my favourite parts of Part 1.
I NEED a TEN HOUR loop of this
It fees like a powerful spiritual song you’d hear in worship places 👌🏼
Another one of those subtle yet significant complementation's that allows the Dune universe to come alive so much more, and immerses you in the stories undertone.
As a muslim, it's somewhat reminiscent of Quranic recitations. But obviously with a lot of other influences and blends as well.
it is.
@@Despotic_Waffle there is religion called zensunni in Dune. Zen Buddhism and Sunni Islam became one.
@Mosaab twice i think you never read the Dune Lore. If you know about google and how to use it, then look for it
1:19 that muffled "Shai Hulud" spoken in awe with the half-tone step drop, followed by the large Timpani and the chime, only to emerge into a new verse, with the uninterrupted monk chants in the background... This has a certain genesis quality to it. As if you witness the creation of the world.

That's amazing ! Where did you found the lyrics ?
WOW!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you! The only valuable comment on here. This should be pinned!
meaning?
@@hassansuboh1891?
The best track of the entire film by far. As a North African I feel like I’m in the Sahara listening to my family sing next to a night fire.
Can I come chill with your family?
@@vantage789Hahaha of course, Lisan Al Gaib
Literally my favourite scene in the movie. I was looking for this soundtrack EVERYWHERE! Thank you so much for uploading, Mr. Green.
this song could truly only be heard on arrakis.
I never heard a soundtrack so alien before and full of customs of another world.
fantastic scene between Jessica and shadat mapes
It's literally middle-eastern, the language strongly resembling Arabic. Their religion is based on Sunni Islam mixed with Buddhism. It's in the book
You should also try 'the prophecy' from the 1984 dune. Its pretty fucking other worldly as well.
@@thomasvleminckx and? OPs comment is still valid and correct
@@thomasvleminckxokay ? You literally just restated what the OP said😂
@@MrWatsuputube Did I? The OP claimed the music and customs of Dune were fundamentally alien and could only be heard on Arrakis. I refuted that by saying it's all based on real-world customs and religions and culture
This piece is sublime. I recall dream-like childhood memories of hearing prayers reverberating through the streets, with the early golden sunlight filtering in through ragged blinds. The scene in the film took me back to those memories and elicited a feeling that I can't quite name. This is the point where the film became truly transcendental as a cinematic experience. Thank you for this masterwork.
So glad i found this track... I wasn't a fan of the Dune soundtrack at first, i think because i was expecting more of this kind of feel... When this played in the cinema over the scene with the fremen Pilgrims it was incredible.. I wish we'd got more of this, hopefully in part 2..
It's my favorite song in the film. It just emanates mystery and awe of the god that the Fremen worship. Religious music is supposed to convey the kind of devotion the believers participate in, and this does that perfectly.
I am wondering why this and other tracks featured in "Dune: Part I" do not appear on any of the official soundtracks. This is perhaps my favorite moment in the film and I would love to listen to it on something other than CZcams.
Agreed. The Fremen devotion. Thats it.
How is this not a part of the soundtrack?!!
It is truly beautiful Mr Green _ thank you 🙏
Right?! I've been looking for this since I first the saw the movie
possibly a licencing fuckup since Hans Zimmer normally gets 100% of the credit
I think it is, you hear this song in the scene of the Fremen pilgrims praying and reading scripture just outside the gates of the Arakeen palace
@@h870yes, it is in the movie, but it doesn't actually appear in the official album track listing. Only Hans' compositions appear there, unfortunately.
This needs to be a ten hour track aha I'm obsessed with this movie's music.
The voice of Czarina is really beautiful and so pure
such a great piece of music. so other worldly and yet with that grain of ancient history again
I've been looking for this!!!! Couldn't find it on the soundtrack anywhere, even the sketchbook album
This seriously needs to be a loop.
I've been humming this melody for the entire movie after that scene. This is incredible.
This is my meditation 🙏 🧘♀️🧘♂️ all day!! Phenomenal!!
Ibn qirtaiba, as far as the spot where the dust ends. I see a . . . Fremen with the book of examples, He reads to al-Lat, the sun whom he defied and subjugated. He reads to the Sadus of the Trial and this is what he reads;
"Mine enemies are like green blades eaten down
That did stand in the path of the tempest.
Hast thou not seen what our Lord did?
He sent the pestilence among them
That did lay schemes against us.
They are like birds scattered by the huntsman.
Their schemes are like pellets of poison
That every mouth rejects.
Their works have been overturned.
The fire of God mount over thy heart, The fire of God set alight,"
Thine enemies shall fall
"Bi-la kaifa"
I am beyond ready for the second film!
always get chills on this scene
should’ve been on the official soundtrack. so perfect
I feel something spiritual
You have a gift Theo Green thank you!
Thank you for uploading. Would love this in higher quality.
I had been looking for this track. One of my favorite moments in the whole movie, thanks to your work!
thank u for this
This is so good
Studying and on loop 👍.
Epic
Goodness, that cant be more insane!
Im so bummed that they didnt include this song on the second part.....regardless, what a fucking movie...amazing.
are there lyrics, possibly with translation?
Ride the Shai-Hulud, Luffy!
whats its like when reading the quran in a nice garden mosque during the afternoon with the sun shade over it
How did you get this? Where did you get it from? I want it!
Theo Green was the sound supervisor or something from the movie
Are they waiting for Part 2 before they release the entire soundtrack on physical media?
I love this scene in the movie. Such a shame it’s not in the official soundtrack. Does anyone know what the singer is saying?
Where did you get this track? Is there any official place to download it?
He made it.
Any chance of releasing this as a wav? I'd love to buy it.
Boomer momnt
Imagine a Sumerian king readying for battle.
What Language is that?
Chakobsa or either the fremen language
What scene is this from?
time of this scene is 43:15 in film
This plays when the Shadout Mapes tests lady Jessica with the crysknife on the Arrakeen palace. Awesome scene
@@hectorfernandez4098 It also plays during the "Prayers on Arrakis" scene. czcams.com/video/QNuymYYj1Ko/video.html
Wierdly Arrakis look like Tunisia and Algeria's South Region
Very Powerful and also brings real meaning to the scene. My favourite music from dune so far.
