  • Can you get scroll saw blades to last longer?
In this video demonstration we share a simple idea that we have been using to get more use out of our scroll saw blades. This method could also be used to increase the size of your scroll saw bed.
Remember to check out our full scroll saw playlist to learn all about the different projects and techniques you can use to learn how to use the scroll saw.
If you have any questions about scroll sawing, wood carving or need any help to learn or improve your wood carving remember to put a comment in the comments section and we will do our best to help. We hope you enjoy the demonstration, it's a pleasure to share the work we do here at The Lovespoon Workshop.

For regular updates about the things we are doing find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by searching for The Lovespoon Workshop.
Remember to take care and ALWAYS ensure your own safety when working with wood working tools and machinery. If in doubt don't do it!!

Great idea I think I have said this already but I have noticed blades just aren’t what they use to be 30 years ago I have tried many many brands of blades in my years of scrolling the brand I think is the best for me is NIQUA they cut smoother an last the longest for me but that’s just my preference
Thanks for sharing as always I enjoy your videos

Hi Jerry, Great to hear from you as always. Niqua blades are my favourites too. Been working with the Niqua Pebecco blades recently and they do a great job. Blade quality is probably down to everything being manufactured now, where they are looking to make them more cheaply and the quality is lower as a result.

Works fine for thin stock, but if you're cutting say 50 mm then I don't think this would be possible. Great idea though.

Spot on, it reduces the thickness you can cut by the thickness of the layer you add to the scroll saw.
