Duke Silver is pretty much a Superman of Parks And Rec universe. Everyone loves him and his disguise is basically a hat.
@xefiroth more like a Clark Kent, Ron’s the real superman
His disguise is a fedora and sunglasses
Leslie: Oh hey, it’s Duke Silver!
*Duke’s hat falls off*
Leslie: Ron, you missed it, Duke Silver was here!
I'm pretty sure everyone whos seen Duke knows its Ron, but are so intimidated and smart enough not to cross him lol
or a Perry the Platypus...
Even Ron's embarrassing secret makes him awesome
Shhhhhhhhasa secret
"embarrassing...." Only Ron Swanson's secret is actually really sexy.
Ron ███████ Swanson
Who's Ron? That's Duke silver
that's not his embarrassing secret. His embarrassing secret is that he likes to eat brussel sprouts!
It literally took me forever to realize truly why Ron was unwilling to show everyone duke silver. Ron is someone who prides himself in hiding emotions. Music is one of the biggest ways to express emotion
Genius, absolutely genius
Precisely
Imagine if he was a dancer
Are you serious? That's literally his entire character, an exaggerated version of an idiot ignorant mid-west American.
The even better thing is that he's playing Sax Jazz, what some people might call the music that is driven by emotions
Any man who's willing to reveal a personal secret in order to do justice to a tribute celebrating the life of a horse is alright in my books.
It's a pony
He's a miniature horse.
@@PranavDwivedi990 .... GET OUT.
@@PranavDwivedi990 yes, ponies are horses.
Cause that's what Heroes do. And Duke Silver is not only a secret of Ron's. If it ever had come out, he would probably hidden somewhere out of town for a few years.
What’s even funnier is that when the writers came up with Duke Silver, they originally did it as a joke, only to find out that Nick Offerman actually knows how to play the saxophone in real life. It was a complete coincidence.
Same with his choice in Whiskey; Lagavulin. They brought it to set one time for a prop for Ron, and Nick said "Oh, I love Lagavulin..."
plot twist: ron used to play across europe as duke silver and that’s how he got so rich but he retried and now pretends to hate europe so he never has to go their incase he gets recognised
Dude you might be onto something
dude you are onto it! Can't go back to France or Paris (the city of love) because he swooned too many of the ladies! This answers everything!
You may be on to something, but go back to school.
retired
recognized
Duke silver's entrance to the concert was just like thor arriving in wakanda in the final battle
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING 🤣🤣🤣
His entry was Majestic🎷
They both have the same energy😂
with Star Lord introducing him too
"Bring me that sweet, sweet sax, baby!"
Not only do I love Duke Silver, but I love how grossly nice April's parents are.
Yeah its a common trope
April mentions in another episode that her mom has all of his (Duke Silver's) records, so she's fangirling out.
*Zuzu's parents
@@beastinthesky6774 yeah its a double joke aprils parents are the opposite of her happy nice they act very excited to meet ron we later find out that her moms a big fan with all his music so the reason she was oddly excited is because shes his fan also there nice people personality strikes again because they dont acknowlege it, ambush him, or exploit there daughters relationship to meet there idol and respect his privacy
Probably my favourite alter-ego character after Burt Macklin
FBI. You have to add that "FBI" at the end
What about Mrs. Hitler?
Name's Burt Macklin, I work for the F*ckin' FBI
Janice Snakehole is mine! *slap
No1 comes close to janet snakehole
Ron is a genius, Duke silver only plays a bar IN EAGLETON - he knows damn well that Leslie'll never go there
But at the same time, he increases his chances of encountering Eagleton Ron.
The fact that Mark knows about Duke really shows how good friends they were.
Dont you mean workplace acquaintances?
@@scarysquidgod8633 yeah they talk sometimes so they can't be good friends
Or just how good of a detective Mark is
@@whats_a_good_name Nah, if it wasn't a friend thing, Mark would have told everyone as part of the blackmail thing.
so then how do you think Mark found out about Duke Silvers?
There only 2 reasons to cry
1. At the Grand Canyon
2. And when Netflix takes down P&R
Losing all your money and losing the rest of it
It’s a joke my friend lol
@Mikhail FR?
And when you watch Duke Silver perform a beautiful saxophone solo in person
I have cried twice in my life. Once when I was 9 and got hit by a school bus, and again when I found out Netflix lost Parks and Recreation.
The best “dirt” on Ron still makes him cooler than everyone else.
I'd be cool if one of Ron's stepdaughters takes an interest in the saxophone and someday takes Duke Silvers' place as Duchess Silver.
that would be so cool omg
@@anunfiItered Thank you : )
This is my new head canon
Duchess Palladium
@@prod.by3am135 nice
Duke isn't Ron's alter ego. Duke Silver just took his tonic personality and reharmonized it in the relative Minor Key.
"Bye,Zuzu"
"Bye,Duke Silver"
LMAO
I love this comment
"...and discreetly discard."
*April smashes cymbals together in Jerry's face*
Forget Flash-bangs man!
Item: April's Cymbals
Damage: 15
Perk: Confusion; Blinding
WHERE did she suddenly get those cymbals???
she would've done that anyway
That is discreet for April.
"FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD, HE MAKES MATURE WOMEN SWOON!" BUAHHAHHAHAHHAHA
I was dying. Then i died. Now i'm dead.
@@HoundTakeshi Typing from the afterlife
He’s so romantic in duke silver persona, and ron and april father and daughter relationship is adorable.
Now we all know what Diane sees in him.
Even Ron's alter ego had a character arc xD
I love how Ron tries to tease April but she completely catches him off guard
Nobody's gonna talk about the fact that he remixed Andy's song without telling him and played the whole thing through as if the saxo was already there to boost Andy's confidence?
This was probably one of the most papa bear moment in the show
I haven't found another comedy show that was so over the top yet so human and with so much heart.
You should watch scrubs, it's another show with an amazing over-the-top presentation but with a grounded heart and lovable, relatable characters in sometimes goofy, sometimes serious situations
Watch Brooklyn nine nine it is from the same creator
You should watch Community
@@DJ-vg1pr I have watched Community. The human aspect wasn't nearly as pronounced in that show.
@@TheOldMan-75 I found community to have a stronger human aspect personally. They're both fantastic shows anyway
That moment where Ron willingly reveals Duke Silver to Diane, is such a tender moment.
Stand User: Ron Swanson
Stand Name: Duke Silver
Harismeld Special Ability: Witching Hour Swoon
Shut up
Stand Cry: Plays Saxophone
I dont have to fight this one right? I dont think Hamon and Hermit Purple will be enough for Duke Silver.

I came here because netflix took away what I love
Wait what
Honestly we need to do something
It’s free on peacock
I can't believe you were the 12th comment after 2 years
Same
*I dig your groovy tunes man*
Do you hear me?!
That's my favorite April line in the entire show... my brain just about exploded when she said it... every time
8:25 - I love how even in death Ben continues to be unimpressed with Lil Sebastion.
the lil sebastian scene gets me everytime! I cant deal with Bens vacant stare into the camera. DEAD!
that would definitely be me
That stare is definitely one of Ben's salient attributes that they used over and over again during the course of the show.
genuinely duke silver as a character detail adds a lot of depth to ron.
"Bye Zuzu"
"Goodbye Duke Silver"
*Jazz music stops*

Ron and Leslie
Ron: puts on fedora
Leslie: i’ve never met this man before in my life
Theres a perry the platypus joke in there somewhere but I cant find it
“A normal man!”
*puts on fedora*
“Duke Silver the normal man!?”
Dear God almighty, thank you for creating the person who made this.
ok so no one still gonna mention how April`s sister nailed it being April Bootleg
I have no idea who this "duke silver" is.
I hear that Duke Silver is a very private guy, but I've also heard that he's a damn good Saxophonist, that he has a fondness for Lagavulin 16 Year Old Single-Malt Whisky (aka the best damn drink on the entire damn planet), and that he's an expert woodworker, hunter, fisherman and riddle-solver. I don't know if any of that is true, but I know that if I ever had the fortune to meet him, I'd like to buy him a glass of Lagavulin, neat.
Good girl
No need to get emotional Ron. You are embarrassing yourself.
Not to spoil anything
But it’s Tom
Atraxus Wraithe You mean the *misfortune* of meeting him. Such a man would demolish us mortal beings
2 years yet less than 10 comments? I guess Ron really did manage to hide Duke Silver after all
nbc took away all comments
I like ur pfp wotakoi right?
@@BMOutdoorz hahaha 'nbc' more like 'NPC' !
When he comes on at the finale concert always makes me tear up
damn, the addition of the saxophone to andy's song was magical.
Ron's most embarrassing secret is that he's cool as hell.
Azis' face at 1:06 was spot on and gets me every time. He was great in this show.
How many people caught that April's father's name is also Larry? Maybe it is her resentment for her goody two shoes father that leads her to lash out at Jerry/Larry/Terry/Gary lol
dont forget gingrich.
Duke silver coming on stage for 5000 candles in the wind is the most amazing part of the show. It's the best pay off to the duke silver joke and I love it so much
"My mom has all your albums."
So why didn't her mom recognize Ron/Duke when she opened the door?
she probably did, that's why she looks so happy when she opened the door!
No hat
Because April lied
I thought they did. Thats why her family was stoked.
They looked REALLY excited to see him. They knew
" I dig your groovy tunes man..!"
The fact Tom thought such gifted saxophone playing could or should be dirt is a testament to the loathable being he is
It's less that and more how seemingly embarassed of it Ron is
No, Ron just doesn’t want people to know about it, Tom merely took advantage of it.
Yeah, Tom is the character I hate the most on this show. I love everyone else, and he even has his moments, but the guy is so shallow and unlikable.
It shows you cant trust tom with perosnal information
So is everyone going to Ignore that fact that not only did Mark know Ron's secret, but Ron himself never realized this fact?
Ron knew he knew
The little Sebastian hologram is so dumb and funny it gets me everytime
Ben and Leslie reacting to Duke Silver is perfect.
Remember when Leslie snaps at him afterwards?
I love how the concert at the end is an amazing microcosm of everything awesome about this show, and every little quirk I fell in love with over ten years.
We need to do something about Netflix. We can't let them do what they want
The people should control Netflix
@@jordanowen9079 sorry man, NBC owns the rights, and they decided they would get more viewers if they put it on their platform. and they're right. I'm considering buying a subscription myself

France helped america can independence you're good
I love Ron but I wish he wasn't american and so in love with capitalism 😂
April was so happy when Ron said “Good Girl”
5:44 I love that Ron just needed to look at the sound tech and they knew what to do
Actually theres this great little subtle moment where Ron makes little saxophone fingering movements with his hands, like he's playing 'air' sax. Nice touch
Anything to do with lil Sebastian always makes me emotional 😭
I love Ron's reaction after April reveals she knows about Duke Silver
If Nick Offerman actually made an actual album by Duke Silver entitled "Memories of Now" I would by 7 copies.
Why can’t I stop revisiting this channel I love parks and rec too much it’s comedy gold
I began playing saxophone because of Duke Silver ❤️
‘I dig your groovy tunes man’
Ron kinda looks like that Duke silver guy
I don’t see it
Nah, he looks like that nick offerman guy.
That last song always give me goosebumps when i come across it , its amazing and the entrance of duke silver to it only made it better.
The whole situation is basically Perry the platypus and Doofenshmirtz
Ron Swanson?
"puts on fedora"
Duke silver!
I love both Tom's face when he finds out about duke silver and the way Ron holds his shoes the whole time at the Ludgate house.
I like to think that Andy still has no idea that Ron and Duke Silver are the same person.
April with the cymbals at 6:26 always gets me
This show had such great Alter Egos. Burt Macklin, Janet Snakehole, Johnny Karate, Judy Hitler and of course the legendary Duke Silver.
Ron going on stage is the single greatest piece of character development in all of film and television
8:10 I think Xena can handle it.
He starts grinding his jaw as soon as he recognises Tom's voice 😂😂
Definitely want Duke Silver for Superbowl Halftime
I love Leslie’s face when she sees Duke Silver. It’s like Omg Ron can play the saxophone
I like Donna's face, like "yeah, I knew this, you didn't?"
The whole Ron Swanson/ Duke Silver persona is right up there with Butters / Professor Chaos.
Although the other way around then with Butters and Professor chaos.
That smile and nod from Mark after Tom’s line at 0:35 is everything. It’s like “okay, is that the line you’re going with buddy? cool”
Duke Silver is one of the greatest artist of our generation and it's about time someone spoke out about it.
I wanna know how Mark figured it out. That was never explained. I doubt there’s anything to it, but damnit, I wanna know.
1. Ron told him and he didn't disclose that to anyone
2. He's been and saw Duke
3. He's a good detective
He probably just saw one of the albums and put 2 and 2 together
this is officially the coolest man I've seen
The moment he went up the stage during the Unity Concert made me scream with excitement!
I have only cried twice in my life
Once when I was hit by a school bus, and when I Saw Duke Silver play lil Sebastian
aaand I have to rewatch the entire show
I love that when this happens even Leslie finds out for the first time and and she is the one who knew him best she loved Ron
I can see duke silver have maxed his charisma
I didn’t know I needed this till now
Anyone else blasting bye bye lol Sebastian alone in their room at 11pm??? No?? Just me??
Tom's face when Duke silver is revealed is priceless.
I need a compilation of Ron and April. Now. Please.
9:10 i totally thought that was Jack Black
C Inkster my guy that’s the lead singer/songwriter for Wilco, Jeff Tweedy, he’s the man as so is his band
Dude it's JEFF TWEEDY ! 😃
When Ron was explaining to Tom about his secret life, that must be who he is. I haven't watched parks and rec yet but as soon as he said that he worked hard to establish who he was in the office, I have a feeling that he is who he really is inside the Jazz club.
“Bye bye lil Sebastian” gives me chills every time
_I dig your groovy tunes man!_
-April Ludgate
" i know its cold outside. But its about to all kinds of warm up in my jazz"
Whenever I get sad or depressed I think of Ron Swanson, I laugh, I get inspired and I soldier on. Thank you Nick Offerman for existing in this grim timeline
Ron Swanson’s character is so billiantly created, there is so much to genuinely like about him like how loyal he is, deep down he is caring and he takes care of those around him yet the other half of him is such good satire making fun of the ridiculous traits of a certain type of person
Ron is both the 2 coolest characters
Its been several years so I don’t remember, but I love to think Andy knows Duke Silver from the local music scene when he introduces him but remains blissfully unaware that he is Ron Swanson. (because of the hat)
Hearing " I wanna know what love is" on a saxophone awakened something within me.
Since you were under-time, you should have added the scene where Andy reveals all of his secrets to Ron, begging him not to quit music.
I dig your groovy tunes man😎
