Welcome to Xtreme Chest Locked, the series where we take on Runescape's hardest challenges whilst being limited to only chests.
This means EVERY aspect of the game, we can not train agility without using chests, obtain items without using chests, or use shops as they are not chest related.
This episode we try to unlock barrows and complete some 6 brother runs.

You should consider making like a small guide/reference video for people starting ToB using those graphics. Absolutely lovely to look at, concise and visualized in a much more natural way

I would love this! I constantly go to raids with learners and this looks hands down the best way i'd love to show people to raid. It would be great seeing this for each raid!

Holy shit, the stylised graphics for the boss mechanics is so good! So much better than seeing actual gameplay and a VO explaining it. You gotta release boss guides with that!!!
heads up: a bone dagger spec hit is guaranteed if you use it on your first attack, or if you were not the last person to damage the NPC you are attacking. So use it first thing if you can for best chances of god defense reduction.
Isn’t that the bone crossbow not the dagger ? Dagger Spec can and does hit 0s first hit regularly.
@@gepffmains9333 bone dagger is a guaranteed hit, not guaranteed damage. You can still hit a 0 damage roll with the spec (as of now), in which it'll do no def reduction since its based on damage done.

it's fun watching this because normally when youtubers do these series they've already though of everything before the viewer can but with you there's just loads of stuff you haven't thought of yet
I tried keeping this one as natural as possible with no voiceovers, I think it came out well! I didn't realise I got frustrated/upset/excited so much here until I edited it 😂

I think this video beautifully shows the best parts about ToB
It's a real challenge when you stack it up against you, in etry mode this means 1v1ing the bosses, having to learn all the mechanics
And then it's super enjoyable together with friends

its not that i 'forgot' tella was doing this to train hunter, but i definitely had a 'oh right, he did ALL OF THAT with the soul purpose of training hunter' certified ironman moment

i went so dry doing evil dave with a kitten, that it got the rat catcher medal, then grew into a cat, then it still took 40 minutes before i got 3 orange spice for the quest

Ya know, usually when someone gets past a roadblock boss like this, they either unlock new gear, maybe get lucky, did a lot of runs to gradually get better or something like that. I love that, in your case, you shifted gears and figured out mechanics that gave you the edge you needed despite ultimately having less equipment (save the super set)
That feeling after watching all this ToB when you remember you did it just to upgrade a BENCH for birdhouses. XD I got so engaged in the ToB, I completely forgot you only did it for molten glass. LOL
Hey, just wanted to say you've filled me with confidence for A Night at the Theater. If chest-locked can do an entry-mode solo, then my main with near-max combat stats and significantly better gear can do it. I know it probably doesn't mean much to most, but it's made me feel like getting the QPC back without relying on finding a team isn't a pipe dream anymore, and I just want to say thanks for that :)

Update: Finally got around to knocking out all my quests (just DT2 left, in the middle of that now), ToB entry mode solo wasn't a problem. Died on the nylos but did end up making it through without significant issue otherwise. Thanks again for giving me confidence!

Been LOVING this series the past few days and I've got to say, you're also great at explaining mechanics in a way I actually understand lmfao. A lot of dedicated tutorial channels are genuinely horrible, because they assume I know what they're talking about. No, I've only played since mid March, PLEASE explain it to me like I'm 5 instead 😂

Those graphic explanations were AMAZING. You should totally do that for Perilous Moons too. I've been really enjoying them, can't wait to see how you do. Your tank Barrows gear is actually perfect there.

Kind of salty this wasn’t pushed on my timeline yesterday before I attempted my first entry mode tob for the quest. This was a much better guide and better representation of what I was about to experience for the newbie run I had.
This video was sooooo great! loved the visuals during the explanation of the bosses very professional and enjoyable to watch

I don't know if you're still running rogues chest in future episodes but I've had great success taking 2 dose prayer pot and blighted food to rogues chest and running to staircase when a pker shows up. Easy logout after camping top floor with right click on go down stairs if they show. You can also rapidly run down the stairs and slam the door in their face cause it takes a few ticks to open/close lol. Great series not tryina backseat game!!

@@Tellacon Is ToA an option somehow? Weapon Poison + can be made through it and Rogue's Chest I think.
Damn those boss animation/guide things were amazing. I dont play rs but I have seen a couple of creators do TOB and thanks to those animations I have finally understood what the boss mechanics are. Fantastic video I love this series.
"Oh wow, if we can't do this with a guthans spear, we cant do perilous moons, and I can't see a way out"... Meanwhile sitting on all melee combat stats in the extremely low 70s like it would be impossible to raise those stats.
Edit: "I have no better strength gear, no better weapon"... If only there was sooooome other way to get strength up.
To be fair this would be difficult with base 90s in this gear 🤣
@@Tellacon Fair point, I know you don't have full guthans, but I do use guthans when afking nightmare zone since I don't want to be eating a Dwarven rock cake every minute to stay at 1 hp, and can instead afk for 25 minutes at a time. And it probably wouldn't be too much worse at sand crabs. You can just afk it almost all day while doing other stuff like video editing for a week and would probably hit mid 80s in melee combats
I think youre underestimating the impact those levels will have. I may be wrong but try the dps calculator on the wiki to see how much it would help @@Tellacon

Such a wild episode. Amazing job on the editing. I've never done raids in OSRS before, and most people who do ToB just expect the viewers to know the raid so I really liked the explanations.
I think the bone crossbow is also a defense reducing spec weapon if I recall correctly

You should use bone dagger as the first hit, its guarenteed to hit if its the first hit on the boss

I imagine there were probably a billion comments on this already but, getting back to the wildy from Lumbridge can be done easily by leveling woodcutting to ~50 and taking a Waka. Can take it all the way up past the Chins. Can get a Bronze Axe from the woodcutting trainer for free whenever you want.
EDIT: Wait... Trainer isn't a chest right? Nevermind lol
EDIT2: Could stockpile axes at Death maybe, if the axe is obtained from a chest. That might be legal.
EDIT3: Wait this thing is a normal Iron it can just bank axes why am I so confused.
Hahaha so, chest locked has axes - but cannot train woodcutting yet as I can only cut trees I grow with farming (not yet unlocked the tools)

Idk if you know but the bone dagger spec is 100p accuracy on the first hit of the boss. Also garenteed again if someone else hits the boss inbetween
After binge watching a lot of these episodes I'm noticing so many parallels to rs3 lol. If someone were to do this on the OG game the path to success would be so similar except instead of raids we have elite dungeons with arguably much better rewards relative to the game. And a lot of bosses have loot chest style systems like araxxor and arch glacor.
Use bone dagger spec for first hit and you can also poison it so you don't need to bring another poison weapon. Assuming that you can get weapon poison anyway.
Zayed isn't entirely correct I am Australian and have gad swordfish a couple of times. It's not common but it is around.
