#Xenoblade #Guide #Nikol - Hry
I first read the title as “Nikol the Unlikeable” and was immediately ready to throw hands
ME TOO LMAOOOO
Me to He’s my favorite character
Throw Variable Hands
I love Nikol he's really shy and sweet. Also he's good a tank.
@@carlyl2032 definitely he’s better than Shulk for sure
Shulk: Dodges to avoid damage
Nikol: What damage?
I completely ignored Nikol in upgrades and got heavily punished for it in the fight with Glimmer and Nicol against Shulk and Rex. Had a harder time with that fight than with Bob
Saaame, im honestly surprised i found a strat to get through that lol
Same, had to go for more pragmatic options to clear The Power of Ouroboros, especially since I've just been shoving upgrade slots to the charas who will eventually be integrated onto Origin's core, especially Shulk since I just maxed out all his slots last night.
All you gotta do, is just refund your points, then put it all in nikol and glimmer!
@@f1reman237 how do you redeem points since I just set the difficulty to EZ & remove the former MCs gear and wrapped it up.
@@RockOrso2 you can get the reset thing in the other quest unlocked at the same time (in the area, just walk around ), then you can max out Nikol and glimmer with the points you get
The pro: Nikol just won't die!
The con: Only Nikol just won't die!
i def think Memory Locket is a must have on him. One of the best strats to clutch a fight
Oh. That let's non-healers revive fallen party members right?
That would make sense; if Nikol is never gonna draw enough aggro to be targeted, he could be reviving whenever needed with almost no risk.
@S B give him memory locket and give him below 30% health 37% up on block and he is the Invincible zombie healer you will never lose a fight again
It's crazy how Nikol does not seem useful for most of the game, but when you get to the difficult superbosses you realize oh wait he just isn't dying
Considering how Nikol’s fight with Glimmer’s colony turned out in the story, this build is shockingly thematically appropriate
Nikol known as Shulk Jr. aka Launchy Boi.
“I’m still breathing, but soon you wont be.”
Nikol was actually a more reliable tank than Shulk for me. He was usually the last one alive, and thus was given an accessory to allow him to revive everyone else.
I really liked the idea of giving him the revive accessory. I ended up making him a dedicated defensive tank due to his low damage numbers too, but i actually didnt even think of that, its a really good idea ill use on my next playthrough for sure
I did the same thing it was so helpful for post game enemies
The idea crossed me on the Lv 70 Superboss.
I felt like a damn genius slapping it onto him
@@karmiccrotal3480I'm struggling to beat the level, as i don't have all my arts, accessories, and affinity growth. How do i trigger links birthday??? It's the only growth kit i need, but it won't trigger. And no one else seems to have this issue
I don’t know why, but Nikol was an MVP in my playthrough. I did focus on him a little once I noticed he was serving well as a tank. So in the end, I prioritized him over Shulk.
I got to upgrade him last (I got the last round of upgrades for him in the post game, I couldn’t find the last kit, and he was still working before being max ngl
his tankyness was so strong theres a reason he was the last in his colony
Thank you for creating these videos! They're extremely informative and helpful. I can't wait for your future videos!
My favorite part of these guides is watching Rex immediately get aggro and eat an Ultra play Bite
2:07 If I could fix Defenders in both XC2 and XC3, I'd give them all an innate aggro multiplier of, I dunno, 500% or something, and I'd give skills like Block-Counter Assembly here a significantly higher multiplier - 900%, at least. That'd do a more-respectable 7200 damage, in this case. I'd also add an additional aggro draw on top of that of 300%, because spikes bloody hurt.
That worthless Spike Gem? I'd also massively increase that thing's multiplier too. "Auto Aggro Up"? Make it increase aggro by something _useful_ like, for shits and giggles, 777 per second.
@@Aussielios I mean, I do understand why aggro exists - to punish attackers who are doing their jobs too well, to add more balance - and if aggro was removed as you suggested, non-Defenders would only get hit by AoE attacks and thus not face dying nearly as often.
Plus, when there are two Defenders, which one is the enemy supposed to target? Aggro helps with that too.
Sure, the overall system does need a rework, but the concept is sound, I believe. All it needs is for Defenders to draw aggro more effectively, not for aggro to be removed outright.
Glad I'm not the only one that realized Nikol is literally unkillable. Sure, he's not great at keeping Aggro just because of how much damage Rex does, but when he DOES have aggro, he's amazing. All Nikol needs is Shulk's Lock-On art, although I guess that WOULD make him a lil TOO broken
Funny enough if shulk uses his aoe armour veil Nikol just become even more unkillable
He sleeps for now, but in our time of need, he will return.
Thanks for the guide! Definitely a neat way to build Nikol.
Ah yes, the Zeon strategy.
Could you do a guide for the post-game seventh member? I want to know how to best kit them out. Yes, they are another debuff character, but still.
Yeah I second this request, although I think I have a decent idea how they are kitted out, I'd be interested in knowing your thoughts on making them work the best as an AI member, since many people will be stuck with them. It'd also be nice if you'd cover how to deal with them being part of Chain Attacks too.
@@CheatFreak47same, I'd love to see enel's take.
Personally I run attack gem, crit dmg gem and debuff effect up gem.
Accessories, attack up, crit rate up, pierce ether defense.
For arts I'm still unsure what works best. But for chain attack accessory, the one where it prevents you from completing an order even if you reach 100 is kinda nice. A free attacker who cannot go over, and exists for a bit of punch while boosting tp is nice.
@@Noxen74 For Gems I gave them Canceling Boost, Attack Up and Debuff effect Up.
For Accessoires Attack Up, Damage Up from the side and Warped Black Brooch.
For Arts: AOE/Pierce/High Crit. Rate + Side Attack Up, Resistance Down for all + AOE/Sleep, High HP: Damage Up/Shackle block + Bind
I also gave them Strategy 6.
Yeah i would be interested to see a video on what good gems / accessories to give to post game member
@@Leon.aka.Devil.s.D Cancelling boost is useless on them. You can't control them and that doesn't work in chain attacks
On both of my 100% playthroughs, I always gave Nikol the Memory Locket. Helped a lot in the off-chance that both A and Glimmer died. Really carried some battles I attempted completely unprepared. Good to know it was a pretty good idea, choosing to do that!!
I liked the doubles fight at the colony, really demands that you pay attention and have a strategy
I have Nikol my memory locket and just made him into a backup healer. Poor kid is never going to hold aggro anyway, certainly not with Rex in the party, but he's much sturdier that A and Glimmer so he'd be the lifeline just in case things go horribly wrong.
For accessories i went with martis ring for 93% block, memory locket, and fraternal badge for permanent 50% haste
That's a nice setup as well !
Where did you get martis ring in future redemeed?
@@d.rinrin I think its a drop from Fog-Dweller Abassy the dragon Enel fought in the video.
Nikol is the Nopon of the group, having his mechanical arms act like Nopon wings
Nopon party members are known for having the most hp like riki or tora
We really need Xenoblade Chronicles X on switch, just so we can get more of your guides. I mean it! You’ve helped me through this whole trilogy and given me a deeper understanding and appreciation for these games!
He still active in twitter (X) , don't worry.
It's just right now , he still finding content.
I found early in the game that Nikol was holding aggro way easier than Shulk. Shulk when I first got him couldn't take aggro even while I was controlling him. About 40% through the DLC I got enough upgrades for Shulk that he started doing a better job. This might make Enel cry but I basically ignored Rex until last for most of the upgrades lol.
Honestly, Rex is so broken that I ended up stealing points from his attack boosting skills in the later game just to make the rest of the team feel more balanced without having to max everything out
@@munchrai6396 honestly that might be a good idea if you don’t want Rex ALWAYS having aggro lol
Reminds me how I made Lanz in his personal class. Absolute tank that survives and prevents loss.
send build please
@@runaway74 all you really need is equipment that raises his HP + memory locket
if thats the case, why not just make him a healer that?
@@yaboydarrell then he would die due to having healer defenses
That's cool. We ended up with basically the same Nikol build.
One difference is the chain attack accessory. I dropped the Ashera heroic chain and focused him on the ability that adds 15 TP to everyone else and my chain attacks have become way better. With +150% TP for completing an order on Rex, and Melia's heroic chain on Matthew, getting the round 1 Amazing with 4 characters is easy, (and you can get that person back with A's default chain order) and it sets up Rex to easily 3-turn amazing and stack TP like crazy.
Best new character by far for me, he is just so precious
Enel idea for next video that could be really helpful: gem crafting, Xreader and weapon upgrading guide; where to find all the materials to get them to max level. Been stuck on a lot of them.
YESSSS I was waiting for a guide on the best boi
I do hope you make another guide on the last character, ik it's spoiler but you did eventually do a guide on the other two spoilers too.
Especially since they're stuck in your party once you beat the game and you can't get rid of them
Will we be getting a guide on making the most of [REDACTED] in post game fights too? Like, various setups, etc?
Partly because I wanna optimize, but mostly because I want more content
How about using emergency bandana to boost the healing speed instead of the Sergeant Headband?
Thank you for these. Any advice for uh... War Mage?
Nikol is still the best boy in my heart look at his cute face
It’s weird how the Tanks use Healing Gems to revive faster and (I think) keep Awakened around for longer
I know you can't optimize them as much as the main party, but I do hope Enel does a video guide for the 7th party member you get postgame.
We need the perfect team guide next, it's just Rex and his 5 supports
I actually wonder if they wanted him to be run something like this or if they just don't know how to balance these classes between early game and super bosses. Nikol had no problems keeping aggro for me through most of my playthrough, that problem lies with Shulk. But as soon as Rex passed a certain powerup threshold, Nikol became basically "the guy left standing to run from battle." I can't believe I didn't think to use the memory locket seeing as how I used that on defenders in my first playthrough of the base game.
I’m interested in your information of the impactfulness of the aggro up every second skill - do you have the numbers on that? Do we know the actual aggro amount numbers in attacks vs skills like this?
Great video!! Do you know where can I get more shield belts? I only have 1
Post game spoilers :
And now, a guide about the "gift" we receive for finishing the game ?
I like the idea of turning Nikol into a healer especially with how aggro hungry Rex is. I'd go with the Vigorous Anklets over the Shield Belt since it would be nice if he could do at least some damage and the difference in durability isn't that much considering how long his arts are. Despite being the weakest team member, I do think the Nikol is better than almost every tank in the base game, especially either of the face tanks that aren't Guardian Commander. Really sucks just how uninteresting the tanks are in Xenoblade 3 as a whole especially when compared to the powerhouse's we had in previous games
I just realized that 3 out of the 6 (7 if you count a certain character) founders are descendents of Rex.
Glimmer is Rex's daughter, while Matthew and Na'el are his great-great-grandkids.
Rex->Mio->Ghondor->Matthew/Na'el parents-> Matthew and Na'el
And A is his In-law
@@TommySkywalker11 if the Aegises count as siblings, then yeah
I used Nikol the same way. I'm kinda proud c:
I have to say that Shulk and Nikol ended up being unkillable for me, so Shulk could keep figthing while Nikol revived the team.
Shulk and Nikol resulted my favourite pair
Whenever I lose he's always the last one to go down. He really does dislike dying.
Unfortunately Rex is the best tank, hard core at eating the floor
Rex is busy protecting everyone by holding aggro and killing the enemy faster. Truly, he is the best tank in the game
OKAY! SO! Turns out Nikol was the missing piece to beating the level 80 super boss!
I am not kidding when I had everyone but Nikol set up like your guides, and was constantly losing.
You put out this guide, I adjust Nikol to match, and I beat the freaking thing on the first try!
I'm not gonna hear any complaints! Nikol is the best boy from now on!
Addition: my thumb hurts SO MUCH from trying to keep my healers awake. Just beat it a few more times to get ready for the 90 bosses and I feel like I have contact burns.
I really wish they'd realize the scaling of damage when making the spike damage effects. You'd need to have the effect be something like 2000% (20x) the attack stat before the damage is noticeable.
Also kind of wish they wouldn't make the face tanks so slow all the time, because that's another really crippling thing to tanks.
Nikol isn't bad. He has some good things going for him, but there's a reason most face tanks in the series haven't been great.
Yeah, I run Memory Locket on him as well due to how insanely tanky he is. He absolutely is the brick wall last resort and managed to bring my first kill of Bob back from the brink, and he did it again against Alabaasty as well. He just takes negative damage most of the time and its hilarious.
I just realized something:
Klaus, the creator of these worlds, whose alter-ego Zanza possessed Shulk, and Shulk is (in all likelihood) the father of Nikol.
Nikol + Klaus = Nicholas
I don't know where I was going with that, but it was just interesting to me. =P
Yeah, I ended up making him a resbot too. Your setup seems better than mine though. I still had hope of him tanking a lil, but this seems way better.
Can we see a big video with all classes and how to use them now with all the dlc content out and making the game play different then before.
Nikol: "There goes the enemy."
Me: "Bruh he literally JUST targeted you! Do your job!"
I'm really glad that Xenoblade 3 found ways for tanks to be useful even without having aggro after the travesty that was the shield hammer class. I still think future games shouldn't be as afraid to give tanks, especially face tanks, as low damage as these past 2 games have, but for the completely unkillable tanks I also really want to see them do better with their aggro increasing abilities. I feel like giving them basically an attacker ability, but instead of increasing damage per x thing done it gives you an aggro multiplier could potentially work if it scaled high enough, it just feels like the aggro increasing abilities they've been giving tanks these past few games just don't cut it.
Will you be making a guide on how to use the postgame thingy effectively?
Hey Enel you forgot the War Mage class from Na'el.
Memory locket Nikol is goated af
Really late comment but that's your last video soo....
Do you plan on doing updated class guides/tierlist, hero guides/tierlist now that we know a lot more about the game and how the classes work. Like some of your guides are still accurate but a lot of them are lacking now.
I love your guides, and it's always nice to be able to point newcommers to the series to your videos when they need advice (especially for X and 2 ^^'). And because you did updates on your guide later in 2's life, I though maybe you could do the same for 3 ^^
Im about to use this build however give nikol the ultimate counter gem to make a bettee version of a strat i like to call ultra ego nikol
Are you going to make a guide for the post game character?
It would be really cool if you made a google doc with your recommended builds :)
I give Nikol strategy manual vol 20. In case the rest of the party just passes away and I have a chain attack, the order revives everyone and the heroic chain practically guarantees that Nikol can do his order by himself (200% if used first, so combine that with base 30tp + 15tp for his order, and most characters can manage to get 5 extra tp).
7:40 I think there is three launch arts if you count Fusion art, Matthew's Raging Force and Revolt Uppercut but I never use it as Rex or Nikol beat me to the punch.
9:54 I also recall Dying with Matthew mid-Mighty Beat.
Seeing Nikol now again I really think they should’ve added Shulks spike damage on one skill and give Shulk another skill that gives him Awakening whenever aggro is kept for longer than 5 seconds and allow him to freeze the timer of Awakening as long as he is targeted by the enemy. Meaning once aggro is gone the timer of the Awakening buff would start to count down.
That would have made Shulk actually good but instead monolith soft decided to give Shulk two separate useless spike effects.
He’s my baby ❤

Are you gonna do a quick guide on Na'el? She's not playable I know, but I'm curious what could you do with her to help the team, my dumbass brain only could think on giving her a chain attack recharge for completion orders to have her be a free chain attack turn like the heroes on the base game.
I play Nikol because he is social anxious like me.
Okay joke aside I try to max my tanks before healer and fighter because I don't think I need to upgraid Rex he already get killed every times and Mattew get aggro after him. Thanks for making this guide.
Shit, using Nikol as an extra reviver makes so much sense, I wish I'd thought of that when I was playing through it. Future Redeemed really demonstrated that(at least on Hard) not having that 7th healer/reviver class was a big disadvantage in tough fights, since your two main healers could go down easily at times. That was a big way to stay alive in the base game, so using Nikol here like that would have been very useful as well.
Would love to see a guide on (spoilers):
Na'el, base-game Rex & Shulk. Probably could be just one video since they aren't fully usable characters.
I actually found Nael not bad as an attacker, in chain attack and outside. I stack her with the most offensive options I could manage and she does more raw dmg than her brother. The main downside to Nael is she doesn't give any utility to the team so I ended up only using her on rounds where Rex wasn't a viable options since her personal dmg was second highest, only losing to Rex. Outside of chain attack, I find my Nael taking aggro and dying more often than any characters who isn't Rex, which I sometimes use to my advantage by starting a chain attack when she was down to eliminate the RNG aspect she brings into chain order.
I love giving her Veneris Rings and the Royal Summoner’s heroic chain from base game. Second most damage in the chain attack, no concerns about TP getting too high
Unstoppable Focre vs Unmovable Wall
Yep, running the memory locket on Nikol is busted, I've been in so many situations where Nikol and Glimmer are left the only survivors and I'm still able to pull throuhj
Memory Locket on Nikol is a very good idea. There were several times when fighting the superbosses (Abaasy especially, due to being unable to run from that fight) where both of my healers (and the post-game party member who I had also given a Memory Locket) were dead, and I was just... waiting for Nikol to die.
Fun fact: With the Martis Rings and a Level V Steel Protection gem, Nikol's block rate can reach 93%
Where are the Martis rings?
@@yendothegamer9880 Rare drop from Abaasy. He can drop all of the Legacy of the Seven accessories (except for the Lunae Rings, since that accessory category goes unused).
You can also farm them. I have between 2 and 7 of each, which is a bit overkill.
Where do you get the memory locket, still not in post game yet.
@@rogerjr.3894 I don't remember where I got my free one but you can buy one at the highest price of any item at 608k at the accessory shop in colony 9
It’s real silly that attackers just stop your blockers from working.
Wait, really? Nikol was actually pretty reliable when it came to managing aggro, all things considered. Obviously Rex and Matthew would steal it from him pretty often, but as you said, that's kind of par for the course when the FR team is as stacked as they are. But anytime they did take aggro, he'd take it right back while A and Glimmer were able to safely revive the now-dead Attackers lmao
The only time things really became an issue were when the enemy would use a crazy strong AoE and happened to take out both healers lol
That said, I really do wish they would change how tanks fundamentally work in these games. If a tank can't do crazy good damage, then they can't pull aggro well. But if they can't pull aggro well, they're losing out on an important part of their role. But if you're just building them primarily for high damage, then why are you still calling them a "tank?" I'm fine with tanks doing really good damage, like Dunban and especially Reyn in XC:DE. But if they don't or can't, they should at least REALLY pump up their aggro draw numbers to be competitive with the game's Attackers. It's one thing to lose aggro from time to time during a huge damage burst. It's another for Attackers like Rex to just be like "no me c:"
For the bulk of my playthrough I usually suffered from one of the two DPS getting the most aggro, dying, the other getting it, dying, and even if the first DPS was picked up, the aggro then fell to the healers despite my efforts to give them aggro reduction stuff. Aggro systems in Xenoblade are just trash unfortunately and definitely my biggest complaint across the series. Good thing everything else is so much fun to play with at least.
This out of the blue but where in the god dam hell can I get a devotional necklace I’ve been looking everywhere for it and haven’t found it, is it a drop from a super boss or is it an item that can be bought
Ig he only appears when hes needed
ugh so sad this will be the last of the xc3 class guides, praying and waiting for an updated hero tier list with the 4 new heroes🥰
Updated Class list too. The one he has up right now is pretty outdated by now.
@@themonkeyman2910 I guess that’s true but but two classes vs 4 heroes. the hero rankings will def have significant changes especially with the two from FR added in whereas the two extra classes won’t adjust the overall ranking for the the other classes much
So are you not doing a guide on Na'el? I know she's not playable but still
So your not doing what little can be done for the post dlc game unlock?
I just beat the last of the superbosses last night. I have 100% in all affinity goals except for a handful of the Enemypedia. Poor Nikkol never got to fill up his Affinity nodes. There's still two I haven't done.
As soon as I saw how bad he is I went "this will be enel's final character guide"
I wish we had an agnian tank in the game
His name is Rex. Seriously, if you set up his gems and accessories to help him survive rather than boosting his damage even further he still draws aggro really well and can last a bit more.
@@joelsasmad Dang, I thought I was the only person who thought of this dumb idea. Stacking as much HP into the character as possible was really helpful to avoid him dying as much. Even tried out a Shield Belt since the man just does way too much damage even at 50%
It's nikol's turn, or as I like to call him "Revivebot #1
"Nikol the unkillable" sounds like a unique monster name lol
If Nikol was a unique monster😂
You mean he's not?
That would be so annoying lmao
Can you make an exp farming video? It was super easy to get to level 99 in base game, but in Future Redeemed it's much harder and I wanna kill those super bosses.
The ones that don't deal insane damage appear to still provide useful utility, even Shulk. Party would definitely be worse off without them.
I'm missing one upgrade for Nikol cause despite me having 100% in everything I just didnt get enough AP
I read the tittle and immediately I thought: ok I'm doing everything wrong with Nikol because my dude dies HARD everytime
I realize this is a long shot, but have you or anybody in the comments encountered a bug in future redeemed where you're missing 15 AP? I've done everything in the game but am still missing it :(
You forgot a character. Even if they are not playable
Please show how to set up the 7th character.
@DARK GOD considering she Has an art combo which benefits from high hp AND side attacks, use accessories that boost side damage and high hp damage
Anybody know where to get the Memory Locket in Future Redeemed? Plz help
He's like Zeon
I consider Enal THE Xenblade CZcamsr.. but kinda sad that he didn't/doesn't have his first playthrough available to watch with his reactions
would it not be better to have life saving expertise so that he can revive faster?
It makes me wonder, the best way to make tanks good in these games is just giving them extra damage for performing tanky duties. Considering that damage is the best way to gain aggro anything other than, " increases aggro" doesn't really do nearly as much. Regardless, I think Nicole and schulk were actually not too bad to play as for me anyway. To be honest, I didn't think any of the characters in this game felt bad to play as. The fact that each of them have a specific role as opposed to roles that you can change constantly. I found a lot of fun playing them. The only one maybe I didn't was probably A.
