    Interesting. I can’t think of anything else to say. My ford doesn’t have sensors. I just back up the old fashioned way. Back until I hear the sound of metal bending, then pull forward a couple feet.

    Tried this technique on a 2016 Tahoe with the "service park assist system" message and found one sensor not functioning (dead). Just used a voice recorder on a smart phone to do my listening. Works like a charm. Genius idea! Kudos to the maker of this video! Thank you.

      How did you get your bad sensor off of your Tahoe? I’ve been trying for an hour, and haven’t been able to get it off. Any tips?

    • @gregaiken3881
      @gregaiken3881 Před 3 lety

      Do a search for Tahoe rear bumper removal. Not that big of a job... you might be able to get it out just by removing some of the fasteners holding the bumper and flexing the bumper to make enough room to get your hand up there to disconnect and remove. It may depend on the placement of the sensor you're changing.

      Thankful to find this video is lu of paying $1000 for a new sensor i replaced my 2015 sensor and listened to the rest there all good now but still have the error will it rest itself or does it need reset anyone?

    • @gregaiken3881
      @gregaiken3881 Před 2 lety

      @@NekwaWatch In my case on my 2016 the problem actually ended up being a wire to one of the sensors in the wiring harness attached to the inside of the bumper. I found this by moving good sensors to the location of the non operating sensor. All this to say once the wiring was repaired, and the ignition was cycled off and on again the message did not reappear, and the system now works as it should.

    Just tried this on my 2007 Chevy Suburban and it worked excellently. Save yourself the $100 diagnostic fee and the $100-$300 your dealership will charge to fix it and do this it literally takes 2 minutes. Buying a replacement sensor from O'Reilly's Auto parts for $40. Done

    My sensor was constantly going off everytime I drive. Going from Park to Drive the sensor would come on that I was right up against something and yet there would be nothing in front of me for 10 - 15 yards. After watching your video, and seeing where the sensors were, I did not have a clue, I found the problem. There was a small bug stuck to one of the front sensors. I wiped it off. No more sensor alert. Thanks for posting your video.

    I just purchased a 2015 Chevy Captiva sport with the check engine light on for VVT solenoids (both bad). After replacing them a couple of times (got bad ones), i finally fixed the check engine light. Next i saw this Service Park Assist problem and i had no idea what it was until i googled it. I was going to take it to the dealer and was dreading having to shell out big bucks to the Stealership. Thanks to your video, i should be able to fix this problem now especially as it seems one of the sensors is not sitting perfectly flush and the bumper was hit on that side slightly as the clips are out from the body! Thanks for saving me the money!

    Hi Hilltown, I just brought a 2011 silverado Z71 4x4 truck. The park assist service wasn't on the dash.
    I had a trailer hitch ball in my shed and put it on the hitch. well, the park assist service came-on the second day i was driving-it.
    I watch a youtuber stated that his hitch ball had interfere with the backup sensors, so he took the ball off and the message went-off.
    I did the same, took-off the ball, and no park assist message. go figure. I don't have to buy any sensor's.. good day..

A local shop had me thinking it was a wiring problem and would take 3-4 hours to fix. The dealership wanted stupid amount of money to fix. For less then $60 from Amazon and a total of 10min work. 2010 Tahoe for me
    Okay...I was able to use my emergency brake and put car in reverse and have a couple wheels blocked. (Wanted to be safe. I didn’t want to be run over or be pinned against the wall...lolol)
    I tried to listen with my naked ear and couldn’t hear anything from all 4 sensors. I then thought about using my voice recording app on my smartphone and could pick up the ‘feedback’ on two of the four sensors. Both on one side of the vehicle. I’m debating on buying two sensors or just have my dealer diagnose and verify it’s just the sensors and not a wiring problem on one side of the vehicle.
    Thoughts?
    And while I’m typing this, I just thought about swapping out one of the good sensors with a ‘bad’ one and see if that works...
    Thanks for the video. I had no idea where the sensors were and you gave me the idea to fix myself.
    I DID want to pass along the iPhone trick with the voice recorder app.

      @HilltownCT  Před 5 lety +2
