  • The old walk behind tractor had a blown head gasket, leaky valves and dried out or missing gaskets all around...spent some time to clean crud, grind valves, make fresh gaskets, chase parts on Ebay...etc. now the motor fires up, it's a 95% finished project... a few more parts needed before putting it back to work

You did a nice job on that unit! This is what America needs more of....people that suffer from self sufficiency instead of sitting in front of a TV all day and night..

Good job on the upper end clean up / overhaul !
The model W was the final evolution of Simplicity's 2-wheel garden tractor. I love the W's & the larger Briggs cast iron engines.
I have 5 model W's. Mine have the later model 200431 8 hp engines. I wasn't aware they were still using the older model 19 7.25 hp engine on the W's. I have 2 Simplicity VC's that use the model 19 engine. I've upped the hp on 2 of my W's with the big block cast iron Briggs engines. One has a Briggs model 302... 13 hp engine & my snowplow W has a model 326... 16 hp engine. I had a MW Power Trac (same as the W), but sold it to my son for tilling his garden & plowing or blowing his driveway. It was my test mule for the first big block Briggs upgrade. It has a Briggs model 243... 10 hp engine.

@Maddog worker Hi, I search everywhere for that glass bowl...could not find it, I end up replacing it with a inline fuel filter and it worked fine

Does this model not have a coil over the flywheel?
On several of the big cast iron Briggs I've been adapting the Honda 13 hp. coil and bypassing points.

      Hi Phil
The coil is under the flywheel, as long as everything is working fine in its original state, I am not planning an upgrade. I would like to see your setup with the Honda coil on a Briggs
