Need a little enclosed section in the testing area and call it the "Chomp Box", or something. Add in things like old kitchen chairs or pieces of driftwood, etc, for them to destroy! Footage of bots tearing into old logs and furniture for testing would be cool B-roll while hyping them up. Just a thought for next year. :D

They got no attacking equipment so they can use that extra weight headroom to attach more shield to the body

While I agree it feels unfair for gruff to not win after that impressive performance, you have to understand that when the judges get involved the thing that gives the most points in the damage dealt by the main weapon and unfortunately gruff's flamethrower didn't do much compared to tombstone's blade
Cara,no começo da luta eu tava com dó do Gruff e calei minha boca,acho que desde o Minotaur nunca vi alguém indo de frente com ele na raça e aguentar
Mas ele fez pouco dano, a agressão tava equivalente e o controle foi pro Gruff, mas o dano vale mais que o controle, então faz sentido, por isso n gosto desses robôs q n causam dano nenhum...

How does the duck win? He's not a flipper, spinner, hammerer or crusher like Quantum... he was literally a very easy meal for Quantum, really living up to his name lol
It just outlasts its opponents, very durable, took bites straight to its internals and kept going
It's like someone who built a character and put all points into defense and none into attack, they really need a spinner or something.
Their idea is that they are the last ones standing when the other bot gets struck
Basically Duck is playing the paladin role, essentially just shield bashing till the other guy destroys himself against the shield.
But I'm also not a big fan of that strategy.
Duck was build to fight spinners.

Gruff should of won that literally controlled the whole fight the biggest hit tombstone had he ended up on the screws from his own impact leading to grufff getting more control and recovering faster, that was 10000% a popularity vote even Ray knows he was given that win, honestly from my point of view Gruff is gonna be an issue for anyone , he can drive with the best of them self right and take as much abuse as duck if he had a bit more of a powerful weapon hed be unbeatable

So many original battles this time. The robots an drivers are very mature, no more silly mistakes. But Gruff deserved a win.

Quantum should have been disqualified no? By my count it held duck for well over 30 seconds before releasing and then immediately grabbed duck again.
In the last matches, they didn't seem to enforce it consistently either. It must be because 30 seconds is just a general guideline or something. If you make an attempt to let go after 30 seconds, you seem to be fine

I'm always very confused why Bots like Gruff, that have a fire weapon, don't just burn the opponent, when they are clinched. There were two moments during the fight, where he could have burned Tombstone from the inside..
Why is nobody working with ropes to defuse the spinners? You just need a thin/strong dynema rope to catch and its all jamed up. It would also be a very easy setup with a sacrefitial sidekick or so... 🤔
I would like the team to invite robots from overseas to join the competition as well.

I don't even understand what the idea with Duck is. I have never seen it flip any bot, and it just flails around. How is it supposed to win?
Duck is nearly indestructible. Like what others said, they are hoping duck's face is strong enough to break their opponent's fist

I get to differ. Shrederator is not full body spinner because the bottom doesn’t spin. That’s a prop spinner. Power up your wheels and use your body in the momentum. And good luck

Despite control of Gruff, Tombstone did the most damage in fact.
Damage was a big factor during this season so most of the time control bots and lifter bots rarely wins especially if they go up against spinners
I think it may be the damage he done to the other robot. Tombstone looked the same at the end of the round.
I mean, gruff was barely moving in the end.
Impressive durability, but really they walked in face first mostly.
It CAN work on tombstone, if you KO.
If it comes to judges, it's hard to not consider the devastating damage it inflicts.
The worst enemy of tombstone remains itself like most heavy weight spinners
