Show Synopsis: With all the thrills and edge-of-your-seat tension of a major sporting tournament, combined with the latest in robot engineering and larger-than-life inventors, BattleBots has viewers of all ages gripped.
In pairs, bot inventors go head-to-head inside the perilous and bullet-proof BattleBot arena, with the aim of destroying or completely disabling their opponent’s machine.
During each episode, we meet the creators behind these awesome machines. From amateurs and super-smart technology students to seasoned professionals who have dedicated their lives to creating the ultimate fighting robot, find out what drives these charismatic inventors, and how they turn their visions into supreme battling robots.

That Rusty win was so touching like the dude literally has no team with him and that win was everything for him
Probably a big shock considering he got pulverized and only did 2 attacks.
I found that and some of the other wins rather surprising. They must have some less obvious criteria for scoring the bots.

@@vondahe I know the big one with Chomp vs. Bite Force was that 5/11 points on the scorecard were for damage with ONLY primary weapon damage being counted, which meant that chomp needed 1 combined point for aggression/control to win after BF lost its weapon. IIRC Rusty's win was the same way, all of Kraken's damage was from the walls and the Pulverizer, while Rusty's drill took half of Kraken's face off, so the junkyard bot only needed one point for either aggression or control.
ribbot is always getting tore into pieces and somehow manages to win.. i love ribbot's suicidal attacks

Yeah, is like the Battlebots version of the Original Sin (a combat robot from american indie tournaments knowns from it's suicidal matches, it can defeat Last Rites (Tombstone) and end without wheels and a damaged frame at the same time, on Battlebots it competes under the name of Free Sheeping, it also counts as the sucessor of the Big B, a Battlebot from the now extinct lightweight division).

I can't speak from experience, but Tantrum just seems like one of the most neatly driven robots out there. Seriously, the way it just smoothly glides around the arena, and how the disc isn't big enough to make it gyro-dance. It's almost as if it was purpose built for driveability.

It reminds me of an English robot from robot wars. The weapons aren’t as powerful over here so we get a lot of fights which are really tactical driving matches. So I love watching Tantrum taking on really powerful robots and beating them.

Chomp vs. Bite Force is like : the weakest bot lands a perfect 1 on a million chances shot on one of the toughest bots of the history of Battlebots. Amazing fight. =)
Tantrum doesnt Look like a Underdog, the way he moves around so smooth, with the drum in the middle of the robot for perfect Balance and perfect Timing for punches. That perfection in my opinion
I think this was the first match that they proved themselves and the new design. In seasons prior to this they weren't a very winning bot, especially their early designs, and they were going up one of the best and most popular bots in Sawblaze. So they were the underdogs going in and ended up champs!
When a bot beats Tombstone, you can't call him an underdog. Tantrum is the real deal.
Also SawBlaze almost didn't attack him, it was a more than obvious victory

@@1Peasant so just like Tantrum they probably want to decide when to attack the other bot. We have seen many bots with open spinners for example that maybe Deal more damage, yes, but theyr attacks are sometimes random and in some cases they even damage themselfes with these random hits when like hitting the Walls with theyr spinners or something like that

uppercut's big mistake: by destroying the shell and the front wheels, they basically turned ribbot into a green tombstone

Chomp still only bot ever to beat Biteforce, with a one in a million shot. Still the greatest upset in robot combat history. Remember, Chomp got badly beaten in later seasons, one of the few robots that went 0-4 in a season.

To the replies above, s2 had the rules set do damage was heavily weighed in favor of primary weapon damage. Biteforce did exactly no primary weapon damage and chomp did quite a lot. Self harm wasn’t penalized, and control and aggression weren’t weighed as heavily. As much as you want to call bad judging, this fight was called perfectly according to the rules at the time.
Yeah, the judging rules were weird and chomp got very lucky. Still a dumb bot though

i really love bots that like, pin their opponent and then have the kind of weapon that drives into their opponent, like rusty and kraken, and also sawblaze, very much reminds me of my all time favourite bot from robot wars, the absolutely legendary razer that could do crazy amounts of damage if it got a pin

chomp vs bite force was the biggest upset in history.
The chomp one was incredible, a bot that is years old and that I was always useless and even so he insisted with his weapon, he hit one of the best bots in the only weak point in the first hit
And then still proceeded to flail about for the rest of the match
Rusty vs kraken is proof 2 control bots can have a good match
Have you ever seen battlebots before? That fight was like other fights when the main weapons have stopped working and all they can do is bump each other gently
for me any Kraken fight is fun. A pity that the vertical 4W meta forced the team to retire the robot...
That one worked because neither robot was particularly tough. It gets boring when both bots are dense bricks of armour and reinforced frame that never get a dent unless they are hit with a spinner

Tbf ribbot had never died in the box so far, all of its loses were from its wheels either getting stuck or getting completely chewed up, but the bot itself always kept on working
People completely sleep on what a tank ribbot is
Besides Ribbot’s first ever fight, it has only been knocked out twice. It fought Endgame and Hydra. It has only been knocked out by ENDGAME AND HYDRA. Honestly, Ensgame and Hydra are probably the two strongest bots in BB currently. No other bot had knocked out Ribbot (except Valkyrie I think in its season debut).
Idk why Rusty reminded me of Atom so much. The beating from the hammer while holding onto Kraken is amazing
Kraken v Rusty.. seemed like a win for Kraken on aggression but I think damage has a higher weighting and there was a lot of sheeting came off and also the driver's lumbar cushion fell out :')

The most damage Rusty got was pretty much the damage to his noggin from the arena hammer, whereas he tore apart Kraken and got into the vulnerable bits.
Control wise Rusty was able to stay on top because of his size and shape, making Kraken run all.over trying to get a good angle where Rusty could just plunk anywhere and get damage in on top of staying out of range for a grapple.
Aggression, sure Kraken got the first few chimps in but it went sideways when Rusty realized he was too big for a bite
I love Rusty ! He is so idiosyncratic and such a strange shape, that other robots have trouble grappling with him !
Rusty vs Kraken was actually fair fight. I can't see any reason why Rusty is considered as a 'underdog' compared to Kraken.
Rusty a newbie to battlebots arena
From an engineering perspective, you'd have to say Kraken was at least a whole tier above Rusty. Plus, Kraken duked it out with some of the heaviest hitters, and survived them, even getting a dominant win over Witch Doctor.
Rusty is yet to feature in a main event. Kraken has won one against a top tier bot

These battles need to be like 5 minutes longer in some cases. I'd watch that for sure.
That may sound fun until both weapons break 1 minute in and you're left with 7 minutes of them ramming each other at mediocre speed.
They would need to redesign the batteries.

Seriously, all the underdogs are just dope you cant deny that. Design and alternative thinking needs much more credits in recieving points. Or they need a new class like take tombstone its just generic bot.. put that in class generic and stuff like free delivery, kraken,rusty,warhead, chomp and more in a non generic class, wich would provide more Entertainment and more fairness than the generic class

Sawblaze needs one flat plate at the front
SawBlaze does have a dustpan wedge, however it's only really used against horizontal spinners. Against vertical spinners, the wedge can get bent upwards, and then it cannot win the ground game.
