      Tbh getting tackled by a kicker is just a dude running into you, literally any dude could do that. Getting struck out by a non-pitcher means some random guy struck you, a professional baseball player out.

    Seeing batters pitch and pitchers bat never gets old. Remember that many positional players have at one point in their careers pitched. Many positional players have pitched in high school or even college ball. It's just that they haven't done it in awhile. This is probably why Babe Ruth was so famous in his time because he was excellent at both pitching and hitting and given his heftier appearance than most slim athletes.

    Question from an Englishman. I thought in baseball you have "the bullpen" for relief/substitute pitchers. Is there some limit to how many there are or how much they can pitch? I'm just wondering why fielders or base men are pitching. Is there some rule of the game I missed?

    • @BronxBomber42
      @BronxBomber42  Před 8 lety +137

      +MrPeterpiper1969 If a team is losing very badly, they will bring a position player in to pitch because there is no point of bringing in another pitcher if the game is already out of hand.

    • @MrPeterpiper1969
      @MrPeterpiper1969 Před 8 lety +49

    These guys probably were badass pitchers in youth ball and HS.. That's why they are in the big's they can play everywhere

      You do know when you go to the big leagues you don't really pitch in the same game and then play another position unless your a position player pitching, you know what I mean?

      Let me rephase my original post.. They were called in to pitch because they were really good pitchers in HS / possibly college and have good pitch scouting reports.. Just like Kevin Keirmeir was a good pitcher in HS and now plays CF.. Big leagues have like 10-15 pitchers on staff.. They have to get deep before they bring in position players..

    i like how most these position changes were by the team down by at least 10 points.

    The only position player I've ever seen pitch on TV was Joe Inglett back in 2010 for the Brewers.

    Can we all realize Chris Davis not only won, not only didn't give up a run but he was throwing 80 mph and striking people out

    One thing you notice with the fielders when the pitch is that they are very inconsistent with their velocity.

    It would be cool if for the allstar game they had players play different positions for fun. It would be cool to see Mike Trout pitching and Chapman batting and getting hit by a pitch.

    Butera looked like he could pitch in the big leagues if that were the route wanted to go. Clocked as low as 74 and as high as 94, pretty sharp little breaking ball at 4:08... Definitely has potential.
