What a wild nest this is...The parent is mobbed each mouse she brings ..and can hardly tear it up into pieces..before one of them grabs it and hides in the corner and chokes it back...the runt has been stepped on by siblings and parent..it is getting so weak, no food or liquid and is cold and huddles in the middle when parent leaves..it may not make it...but that is nature..the birds will lay several eggs..and just the strongest will survive...to carry on the specie's..it is animal instincts...not human emotions....
Never seen a kestrel behave this way, they eat like an owl. Chicks are so aggressive when the food arrives, all these behaviours doesn't suit those Kestrel I used to watch.. what a sight!

Birds of prey nests always have a trickle down feeding, the smallest ones get fed if there is enough food and the larger ones go into a food coma. There is also always a bigger gap in between the eggs hatching as well, which is also intentional, in comparison to smaller birds.

Lowkey annoyed the same chick got two mice in a row.. it stole one from the another chick.. the mom seems a bit new at this, usually the mother feeds the chicks when she brings them food to ensure everyone gets fed, unfortunate.. greedy chicks.

I would notice how difficult the smallest chick fights very hard to get itself fed. At times. I do observe how little food this smallest chick has managed to get. In some videos, I could see the smallest chick disappears from the video before it could grow new feathers. When I see this, I wish I could intervene and feed this poor chick. I know the cameraman will not intervene since what he wants to record is the true nature and life cycle of the falcon.
Why is it a stupid comparison. Birds don't need to have that many chicks. It's because of evolution I know because it's better to have more chicks even if some starve evolution wise but it's bad for animal well being.@@thomasmuellerkohsamui
