I pray that Princess Catharine is restored to perfect health. It infuriates me that a woman who is an icon for civility, sophistication, propriety, compassion and if generous character is attacked and hounded, yet bad actors are promoted in the press. That is bullying behavior.

I wouldn’t worry too much about her. She has access to the best docs and all the comfort in the world she will be more than fine. Unlike poor people when they going through this and worried about bills to pay and kids to look after on their own. Wish people would feel that much empathy for them

She appears to be such a kind woman that it seems particularly sad that her health is fragile. I do see your point about all the unknown/unnamed people going through medical difficulties with far less support than Catherine has. We should be praying for them, as well. Also, to the degree that we are able, we should offer our help and support to them.

I had cancer 10 years ago. I promise you the most difficult part was telling my children. They were older, so in some respects, it was more difficult, and I had to reassure them. When you have cancer you go into a bubble with your medical staff. They're incredible people full of positivity and care. You talk to them then you have to reassure your family. It's a long journey full of tests, large machines, and waiting. The positive is that treatment has come on, and I know this wonderful woman will come through as will King Charles. Meghan will not have guilt. She's planning her come back. Harry will have remorse. He's out of the loop. Everyone knew but him. He has too much history not to reflect. When Harry came to the UK to see his father King Charles already knew about Catherine and didn't tell him. Speaks volumes.
I was in my 30s when my da was diagnosed with cancer. It threw me for a loop even though I was married and out on my own. I can't imagine having to face that at 10, 8, or 5.
I was diagnosed with peripheral nerve sheath tumors on my back. I had to go through so many tests because i didnt know what was wrong until the MRI came back. Saw many specialists and eventually i was told they were benign but can't be removed due to delicate location. Yearly monitoring is advised. The minute you hear the word tumors, life stops. My close friends, my better half who saw me at my worst roller coaster of emotions and he was a rock for us, and certain family members only knew. You have to keep a tight circle for positive support. When HRH Catherine,Princess of Wales ended with "you are not alone," I teared up. She will be ok. The little ones will be her strength as well as HRH Prince William.
Do we know for sure when they found out? Last I heard, people were saying the day of King Constantine's memorial, which I thought was after Harry's "visit."
I don't think the specifics of who knew what and when have been shared with the public nor do I expect them to be. If Catherine's pathology report came back the day of the funeral, that would explain William's change of plans. Whether it was that or something else, I trust he had a good reason for not attending. The Royal Family deserves our grace as they navigate though their health challenges.

The Queen had bone cancer, Duchess of York had breast & skin cancer, then King Charles and now Catherine Princess of Wales. The family have had a horrible 18 months.
The media in all forms have been disgusting!
My Dad was diagnosed in 2013 and while caring for him I was diagnosed in 2016.
It was hard telling my Dad, he was angry and my sons (36 & 33) my youngest was devastated.
I am grateful for everyday.

I found it distressing that so many people were demanding to know why Catherine was unavailable. The many American news outlets, and citizens, who speculated about her marriage were just awful. Nobody owns Catherine.
Preventative chemotherapy can leave one tired and worn out. There will be a recovery period before Catherine can slowly begin to take on appountments again.
Over here, we are solely thinking about her recovery. We have endless patience, wishing only for a full recovery for Catherine.

To be perfectly fair, a lot of Americans also just quietly wish her well. Unfortunately, most of them are not involved in the same online spaces so don't get heard as much.

Liza, I take your point about some Americans’ being bullies and capitalizing on negativity surrounding Princess Catherine’s medical leave.
However, it’s not fair for you to paint all Americans with the same cynical paint brush. Sadly it’s the loudest and most crass with a platform, that dominate the air waves and grab the attention. Be assured, that like on so many issues and sentiment, the majority do not feel the same. Most people support and have great respect for both Prince William and Princess Catherine.

I despise the way people treated her. Celebrities shouldn't say crap about her. I was thinking cancer but I didn't comment about it. I was thinking with the hospital stay and staying inside. My sister wouldn't say cancer when she had it. Princess Catherine shouldn't been forced to say anything. I pray that she gets healed.
You yourself are just as bad as those who spoke so poorly of her- you are speculating about her health, something the Princess specifically asked people not do! You somehow knew it was cancer before she or her doctors did? Or are you saying “I knew it was cancer from the start” (which in actuality it wasn’t)? Just wish her well and let it be.

When a tumour is removed it's nearly always a laparotomy it's a major surgery if the tumour seems encapsulated and not invading any other body structure it's classed as benign if other parts of the area or body has been infiltrated it's malignant (cancer) however blood tests and specimens taken from the lymphatic system after surgery and continuously there may be markers which are what I think happened with Catherine this is a simplified explanation and I apologise for any upset or caused offence I just thought it may help explain what could be happening to Catherine POW

Don't you think they wanted time to explain to them what was going on - don't you thing the childrens reactions to Mummy having cancer needed time before it was announced on the world stage? Once the announcement happened there would be the press (and the awful backlash and conspiracy theories) which they also needed to prepare the children for as they are old enough to hear and read "news reports" and even if they are protected as much as possible they still have to go to school and they will hear things from their peers and classmates. They announced that Catherine Princess of Wales would be taking time out due to surgery and would return after Easter in the beginning - and we haven't even reached Easter yet so yes they hounded her and didn't think about anything other than clicks and attention - they should hang their heads in shame at what they have done.

As I was watching the video, my heart sank. My immediate feelings were the same as I felt when announced that Queen Elizabeth had died. I faced my own battle with cancer. It was also found after abdominal surgery. So far everything is good. I pray that her outcome will be successful. I am sure that you have all the best support. I want to say that all those who know you and even those who don’t, will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. I agree with you about Harry and Megan not knowing before the announcement was very true. If they had known, they would have leaked the news. I totally agree with you on opinion that Harry and Megan are not wanted.

Apparently shortly after the surgery was announced, People magazine claimed they had a source close to the royal family that said there were no signs of illness before the announcement and that even the people who worked "very closely" with Catherine didn't know about the surgery--my suspicion is that their source is Meghan, who is shocked to learn she's apparently not as close to the power as she thought she was.

I've been cancer-free for 13 years (from a cancer that typically has a life expectancy of 2-3 years). The fear of cancer never goes away. And, as you stated, "saying it out loud" was extremely hard. Telling my daughter (8 at that time) was the hardest thing I ever had to do. And I totally agree with you, about her ending statement. Of course, in her "typical way", she turned her message to others who are going through something similar. A very kind and heartfelt gesture to show that she truly understands and supports everyone who may be going through the same.
That is our genuine Princess Catherine, even in her worst moment, she thinks of others and wishes them well!! I cried seeing her there on the bench..having to talk about her most private and personal business because of all the Trolls and Bullies... they should All be ashamed of themselves, but the type of people they are, they think they can do things like this...but they'd be crying foul if it turned on them and they would have not liked being pushed to talk of their private business... I hope both the King and our beloved Catherine make a full recovery.

I think Catherine’s statement hit harder because of all the insane speculation, cruelty and trolling that had preceded her announcement. I expect the trolling will continue but perhaps, hopefully, to a lesser extent. Though H&M had to make a statement, anything they said would have sounded hollow, because it was hollow. And it annoyed me that they called her Kate, rather than Catherine, yet used their own titles. A subtle show of disrespect and implied closeness, and contempt, really. They need to stay far away from the UK although they’d love the attention a UK visit would bring them. As one of millions who has experienced the shocking, stressful and life-changing weight of a cancer diagnosis (late husband / colon cancer), we all have a sad memory of the first days and months following such unexpected news. I could see it on Catherine’s face. Thinking of the photo of them at the farmer’s market, I remember how soothing those moments of normalcy felt (for me it was shopping for groceries) when existing in such an alternate reality. Catherine (bless her) reminding other cancer sufferers (and their loved ones) that they’re not alone in the midst of this incredibly isolating and lonely disease was significant. She is such a a gift to her nation.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has many supporters here in the USA. Most of us know that the Montecito idiots are a pair of liars. They have been called out on their reprehensible behavior many times. I, along with most Americans I know, admire the RF and wish Catherine, KCIII, and the Duchess of York full recovery. Please don't allow a few brainless haters to represent Americans.

As an American, yes, I have found that most people feel "she's a woman who had surgery why is the media making so much fuss about this, let it alone." But I also have a theory about the rest of them. It mostly boils down to ignorance. Unless you specifically go looking (which you really only do if you are already a fan of the royal family, like myself, or you believe Meghan Markle because you heard from her first), most people don't hear very many things about the royal family. If you're an average American citizen: you have no idea what the royal family does, their place in British society/government (have met people who genuinely believe there is still an absolute monarchy in Britain, because that's what the word monarchy means to them), who they are (beyond the current king, the previous queen, William and Harry and maybe their wives, and maybe Queen Camilla, and obviously Andrew for unfortunate reasons, they would have no idea who you were referring to if you named a member of the royal family), or why they're still around (many believe they cost your taxpayers billions every year in spite of the fact they are the richest people in the world, because that's what the word monarchy means to them); the only news you know about them is the Camilla/Charles/Diana debacle (specifically, that Diana is an innocent victim and Camilla is a social climber), the Prince Andrew/horrible island scandal, Harry and Meghan's worldwide privacy tour (complete with accusations of racism and elitism and sexism and whatever else that fits with what most Americans "know" about the royals), and now "Catherine is missing" and "William has been cheating on her for five years." If you're inclined toward scandalous drama and this is all the information you have, these people seem ripe for the picking. If you're inclined to tearing down good, honorable people to make yourself feel better or have issues with authority or are just contrarian to the point of absurdity, you've been waiting for this. So this (relatively) small group of people go online for all these various reasons (Meghan fans, drama, anti-the-concept-of-monarchy, overly empathetic to Harry's imagined slights still tied in to Diana's death) and start chatting, people who have zero background information except what I listed above become genuinely concerned and spread it farther, it becomes a meme among those who view "celebrities" as entertainment rather than people. Perfect storm on the internet, which after all is actually only a teacup in comparison to the general populace but it's rattling very loudly in its saucer. Our decent media here either said nothing, wished Catherine well and left it there, or told people to shut up and leave the poor woman alone. Unfortunately our sensationalist media is what tends to make it abroad and they fully bought into the wild stuff online (with, naturally, no research). That's the American side of things from what I've observed. However, I do think we're getting a bad rap here, considering your British media, particularly members of the royal rota, know a lot more information about the royal family generally and they said some awful things as well. It was also not Americans calling emergency services in the UK asking for wellness checks on the Princess of Wales. This was not a singular country, this was a subset of humanity that is particularly active on the internet. I should also probably note a disclaimer that I don't believe a lot of the stuff I said as background information on the royal family, I was merely presenting a point of view that seems to be common here.
As an American, Catherine, Princess of Wales is one of my favorite people on earth. She has class, dignity, respect, and polish. My parents aren’t necessarily followers of the United Kingdom’s royal family, but they sure do love Princess Catherine too!

I cried a little when I first watched Princess Catherine's broadcast. My mother died from cancer that was diagnosed way too late. That's why I feel sad whenever someone good gets the same illness. I've been keeping her and the rest of the BRF in my prayers.

At first I was hoping you wouldn't even mention them but then you surprised me by giving very detailed summary of how they betrayed his family, elderly abuse by both of them, the heights they would invariably have reached, just by their place of positioning in his family. You consistently drove home that they are unwanted because of constant, years-long attacks on his family and for no reason. The photos were unbelievably. They remind us of how classy, beautiful and well-put together Princess Catherine is. That takes a tremendous amount of time and energy to put into being so well-groomed and on such a frequent basis. As a person with multiple severe chronic illnesses , I had a premonition during all the "Where's Kate" frenzy, that something was going on, that she was really unwell. I hoped and prayed I was wrong, but deep down, I knew there was something terrible that she was dealing with. I deeply empathize and pray and send her all well-wishes, strength and comfort to the Princess during this time.

I find absolutely sickening the fact that most of the people who bullied Catherine into having to give a statement were mostly women AND mothers. These people are probably the same kind of people saying stuff like "believe all women", "sorority", "women helping women", "women's empowerment" and all that BS. It breaks my heart that Princess Catherine had to do this because otherwise it would have come out as a leak of information, so at least this way she has control of the narrative and the vultures can't gain something out of it anymore.
This situation reminded me of Chadwick Boseman passing away from cancer, but the public didn't know he was sick until after his passing, and thankfully he wasn't forced to come out to tell us his diagnosis, it's something so private and it is up to the person if they want to share their diagnosis or not.
I lost my mom to cancer and only my dad, her sister, my brother and I (her only two children) knew she was sick. We live far from family and we're not very close, so my mom didn't want anyone to know, not even neighbors, and we respected that. Of course my mom was not famous, but we're all human beings, and if Princess Catherine didn't want this to become public, it should have stayed that way. I would have hated if someone went against my mom's wishes and revealed her illness to the whole family.
At least we know Princess Catherine is in treatment and she's in good hands with a good support system, and God willing everything will be alright. Much love from Mexico.

It's one thing when one's parent is facing this dreaded illness - it is totally different if it happens to one's spouse. I've been there when my late, beloved husband was diagnosed with cancer. I felt I had to keep things happy for him, positive, supporting his attitude. I could not let him see or feel my grief, my despair: that would have upset him too much. I often went into the bathroom, door locked, and stuffed towels in my mouth so i could howl with pain - and come out, smiling, calm ...
I don't know how William is coping - but believe me, it will be very very hard for him, especially because there are the lovely children who also need to be reassured. So yes, let's send our thoughts of support to Prince William as well: even rocks need support to keep being strong.

It was only when we lost our beloved Majesty Queen Elizabeth II that I fully understood the emotional connection I hold for the Royal Family. I think this heartbreaking news has brought back up the loss of Her Late Majesty, not only because we miss Her so very much, but Catherine Princess of Wales embodies so many of the attributes we respect and love Queen Elizabeth II for. Princess Catherine should NOT have had to do that statement! She should be able to keep medical information private! The Palace made it clear that she would be out of the public eye for several months! I've heard this many times but it's so true. "Just because she's a public figure doesn't mean she's public property!" My mom passed away from cancer over 6 years ago. It was so physically draining that all she wanted to do was lay in her bed. The last thing she wanted to do was go out in public! It made me so upset with all these jerks making all these hateful attacks against her!

Prince William also deserves an apology from the social media and others who speculated in vicious, horrible statements accusing him of domestic violence, extramarital affairs, etc. His silence and restraint in not responding to these accusations is absolutely amazing. Most of us could not have remained silent.
