Early into my WWE career, I got put into a storyline with The Undertaker. In this video, I pull back the curtain and reveal what was happening in the ring and what was going on backstage.

Maven you were and still are underrated in WWE history.
Thank you for letting us live vicariously through you!

Maven if you wrote a book, not only would I buy it, but I would want you to narrate the audio book. You just have that voice.
Can u please tell us more secrets maven I can listen to you all day

@@MavenKHuffmanhey Maven, I wrote this in under another comment, but any other Mr Perfect stories? I didn't realize he was still alive when you started. Imo #2 all time behind Bret Hart.
Nah they lucky to work wit maven
In an alternate timeline this feud continued and Maven ended the streak at wrestle mania

Honestly that would have been amazing

You and Taker should definitely have a podcast episode or something if there's ever a chance of that happening! love the content man!
I’m in if he is. I would love that
Hit him up man! He'd definitely want to fill some content on his podcast!
For sure ! It'd be really cool.
@@MavenKHuffman why don't u ask him?
Yes please!!!🙏🏽
Maven should be hired by WWE commentary. Pre-show, post-show, backroom interviews, guest announcer.. just hire him and get him involved. This guy is good!
I wouldn’t mind if he replace Pat McAfee
i will forever always be appreciative of how maven immediately gets straight to the point once the video starts

Taker really stood on business by falling over the top ropes from that dropkick. Props.

That’s the difference between Hogan and Taker. Taker is a true company man and Hogan is something else
A rare moment where two Wrestlers put each other over outside the ring.

@MavenKHuffman I love your channel I always watch your videos
I know Maven Is considered a midcarder, but man havin a feud with the Undertaker, being part of a tag match with Triple H, Kurt Angle AND the Deadman himself, three of the greatest of all time, all while being Hardcore Champion. What a great midcard career if yo ask me.
Agreed but if WWE brings him back now I believe he can add to that legacy be it a manager or an every now and then in ring competitor
If Maven rejoins WWE at this point he would get such a massive push that it would totally change his life
@@Mobro_3904 I think Maven has made it clear he’s done with the ring. I would LOVE to see him as a manager or a commentator though.
@@regancorbett1562 Fr Maven on Tv in anyway is good enough for me actually being a general Manager would be probably the most perfect role for him
the Rock coming out to help Maven win over Undertaker must’ve been such a moment, seeing as the Rock was his favorite wrestler.
I was a huge wrestling fan as a kid but kinda grew out of it, Maven is 100% responsible for me even being remotely interested in it again. WWE needs to start throwing money at this man and quick
CZcams and sponsors are. He's doing well
Same here, Maven's vids have brought me back into the fold after 20 years away.
Now that you say that it got me thinking, I was watching it all these Maven videos. Then decided to watch Raw, just to see the Rocks return, then wrestlemania 40. I probably wouldn't have even cared if it wasn't for maven relaunching stored memories from the past
Totally agreed. I love this channel
I stopped watching it in 2006
Waiting for Maven to talk about losing his shoe at the ROW battle royal 😂

Man, my mom ordered this Royal rumble for my birthday. I'm January baby, so between 98-03. My mother would order each Royal rumble for me, and I would invite all the neighborhood friends and kids over to watch. I will never forget the reaction in the room when you eliminated undertaker.😂😂😂 BROTHER THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES. I cannot wait to see what the future brings to you.
Good story about the color.
I remember an interview with Bret, where Bret said he had to gig Austin at WM13 because Austin didn't know how.
Bret and Taker seem like the only two exceptions to give you color if you don't know how to yourself.
Just another example of Taker giving back to the business by building credibility for the younger guys. This is why his spot as an all time great will never be challenged and will never be questioned. He is the standard
💯
Bro you just need someone to hire you to be a storyteller or narrator.
Yea, he should hire himself. Totally agree
He is just fine. Its better this way because he is telling it like he sees it
dude, they need to put him up there at the desk with Big-E.

Maven shouting taker out at the end is classy and full of respect gotta love it
"I'm laying there in a pool of my own blood just relieved." This terrific quote could only be born from professional wrestling and be completely true.
I love that maven said taker was cool as a cucumber 🤣🤣🤣

Dude, don’t say cucumber around Taker. He hates those. 😋
Surely we get a six feet under podcast featuring maven

It would be gold having Maven and Taker one a podcast.
@@nuduce123 be a dream podcast
The fact that Taker was so willing to run a program with you fresh off Tough Enough really speaks to how much he cares about this business and elevating the young guys… it must be so cool to say that you feuded with the best to ever lace em up!
Keep it coming Mave, your vids are getting better and better!
He was offered a feud where he wouldn't have to bump or put someone over clean. It was hardly some sacrifice.
@@alphanerd7221 I disagree. Taker was a marquis main eventer and had zero to benefit from starting a feud with Maven- he did it to bring up Tough Enough and to Maven as a legit wrestler. Not only did he let Maven eliminate him from the Rumble, but he also let Maven pin him 123 for the hardcore title (even if Rock intervened, so what? Maven winning clean over taker would be completely not believable). Undertaker was taking all the risk, because one bad booking decision in their feud could’ve seriously damaged his own credibility.
@@MattMiz554 I clearly irrefutably laid out two absolute benefits from feuding with Maven.
Maven winning over Undertaker clean would have been believable if they did it. It's much more believable than him losing to Mysterio. Undertaker was a rookie that came in and beat the world champ. They could have pushed Maven. He was one of the top 5 athletes in the company at the time.
Undertaker had no risk. Not physically, not to the rep of his character.
Another hit by Maven. Disecting such a career defining moment and showing his respect to "Taker. Funny story- I was at an unusually empty Newark airport one morning in 2012 waiting for my flight home when I caught a climpse of the Dead Man himself walking by dressed as you would have seen him on TV in the American Bad ass era- in black biker attire; sleeveless black shirt, black jeans, etc. I looked at him with that suprised "Oh I know you!" look and as cool as he could be just gave me 'the stare'. His head turning ever so slowly, those unblinking eyes locked on to mine as his body glided by on his way to the concourse. Any words that might have come from my mouth was instantly frozen in place. Just one of those cool memories.
I really appreciate the 30 - 40 mn format. Thank you Maven.

One of the things that contributed heavily to the disaster that was the ECW Mass Transit incident was that Eric Kulas asked New Jack to give him his colour as, much like Maven, he’d never done it before. New Jack screwed up, bit too deep, and severed two arteries in the kid’s head, causing him to pass out momentarily. New Jack asked if he was ok and Kulas said yes, leading to The Gangstas beating the heck out of him more and worsening the cut, nearly killing him. Which is a very good reason for why you want to be in control of your own blade job.
New Jack was a psycho though
I’d trust the dead man over new jack any day of the year
Ricky Steamboat did the best sell job to a throat shot. Randy Savage grabbed the ring bell and jumped from the top rope with it onto Steamboat's neck. He thrashed around like a maniac, and they had to tie him to a gurney to wheel him out of the arena. Then, for weeks, they'd show him slowly trying to recover from the "broken larynx" in therapy sessions.
It was one of my vivid childhood memories. I didn't realize at the time that it was just a show, which made it all the more impactful on me.
Aye! This day is 100x better since Maven uploaded

I'm pretty sure people forgot that The Undertaker took you back to the ring to eliminate you. In Royal Rumble you can be eliminated in any way possible. You can eliminate yourself (like Drew Carey did in 2001 Rumble or Andre the Giant did in 1989 Rumble), you can be eliminated by someone who is already eliminated (like you being eliminated by The Undertaker, who was already eliminated by you), you can be eliminated by someone who is not in the match (like The Undertaker was eliminated by Giant Gonzalez in 1993 Rumble or John Cena was eliminated by The Miz in 2011 Rumble (and it wasn't even planned, it was an audible called after Alex Riley was eliminated before he could eliminate John Cena from the match), you can be even eliminated by multiple people (like Viscera in 2007 Rumble, it took 9 people to work together for an elimination, it's still a record to this very day for the men's rumble, because it took 11 girls to work together to eliminate Nia Jax from 2023 Rumble, that's the rumble record for sure.).
Thank you for your reply. Look like you did some research. 🙏🏽
@@MavenKHuffman I remembered most of the facts that I wrote about, with some I just was making sure that I remember the year (like with Andre, I wasn't sure if it was 1989 or 1988).
There was an exception to the rule "you can't eliminate yourself". In 1992 Macho Man eliminated Jake and then jumped over the ropes to deliver more of a beating and then Macho Man got back in the Rumble afterwards. The commentators even acknowledged it and said "You have to be thrown over the top rope."
@@j.p.walkman9671 not necessarily, Mil Mascaras and Ahmad Johnson both eliminated themselves in the 1997 Royal Rumble
Edit: I originally stated 1996, but it was 97 when Stone Cold won after being originally eliminated by Bret Hart

You achieved the dream of every wrestling fan. Congratulations for everything you have achieved so far and im pretty sure that in the coming years life has some uncut gems waiting for you.
The mythical God of the WWE= The Undertaker. He blessed you with a career. I am a simple person. I see your video, I immediately like it. 😊
🙏🏽🙏🏽 I like the way you do business!
Maven, I know you wanted the chair as a memento but damn the popcorn machine spot was the most memorable part of Taker’s attack to me. Imagine the shattered popcorn machine in the backdrop of your videos.
One of my favourite moments from the Rumble 03 spot was Kane's reactions in the corner. The little head shake, the arm swing. As much as the moment was closure for you and Taker, it still showed the history of Taker and Kane.
After watching a few of these videos, Maven sounds like a nice and down to earth guy. Humble, real, talkative and charismatic. Nice to see people who don't let the fame hit their head and can speak of their career without ego and admit their mistakes. Not many of those today.
Maven really explained it greatly. He really deserves to be remembered
A feud between the greatest wrestler of all time and the undertaker.
“Cool as a cucumber”…pretty funny considering Taker 🤣
The moment Maven eliminated The Undertaker is a literally asking for a beating. Maven eliminating The Undertaker was amazing and the reaction of The Undertaker was priceless 😂

Hey Maven, there have been instances where an eliminated person eliminated someone from the Royal Rumble. The one that comes to mind for me is the '97 Rumble where Austin eliminated Bret Hart, Undertaker, and Vader even Stone Cold was eliminated by Bret before that.

That’s pretty much the dropkick that made time stand still for a second. I remember that rivalry and it was a decent one too. Definitely brought you out your shell maven.
Taker is the best worker of the past 50 years. He didn't care about status or belts, he loved the business.
You know what's great about you, Maven? You are not just a good, respectful, solid worker, but you can tell... a lifelong fan. Like, the smile on your face around 6:04 is just pure joy. You are humble about it, and I've never heard you once come across as ungrateful or egotistical in an industry where that is almost more or less the norm. Very easy in turn to listen to your seriously, and not doubt your word like... well, like some others out there, we'll just leave it there.

It's so cool getting an inside voice on these feuds, and the way you present the content is great. I'm sure you've heard this before but you've got "the gift of gab" as a friend once said. A natural born storyteller, who can make complicated things sound simple without being condescending. This one finally earned my sub, though honestly I thought I'd done it much earlier.
