    Awesome interior Richard! I did not expect this amount of interior height in the cabin. The layout is very spacious and efficient. Good Job! Best/Roy

    Clever magic! Nice boat, would be perfect for PR and around the Spanish Virgins.

    Thank you for watching. Sadly it doesnt look like that any more. Thanks to Dorian the cabin now has no roof and only one "wall". The cooker is Cookmate IIRC a Chinese Origo copy

      @@solarcatamaran8718 our insurers wrote the boat off. I inspected the remains in January. They are yours if you want them!

      Thank you for watching and your comment!! We are still enjoying live on board and cruising our Skoota. Wouldn't change it. We now have it ashore in Florida and cruise it to the Bahamas each winter. We trucked it from the PNW to Texas and cruised east from there

    Whats with not having sound in any of your videos?

    I’m 6 feet tall, will I be able to stand up in the cabin? I am not sure if there is enough headroom, it is hard to tell from the video.

    • @WoodsDesigns
      @WoodsDesigns  Před 3 lety

      yes you can stand. Our builder was 6ft 2in and he could. The bunk is 2m long 6ft 6in. You should also check out the new Aegean, see here www.sailingcatamarans.com/index.php/designs-2/6-powercats/521-aegean-30-power-catamaran

    I'm a little confused by the video. I have been researching your designs for some time now and been looking for a design in the 38 to 42 range with the big bridge. it looks here the bedroom is in the bridge and not in the hulls. what are the hulls used for?

    • @WoodsDesigns
      @WoodsDesigns  Před 8 lety +1

      The hulls are used for storage - fuel tanks, fenders, dinghy sails, water tanks, tools etc etc. It is a demountable, transportable boat and the hulls are very fine for efficiency. The Skoota 32 and Skoota 36 have accommodation in the hulls. So I suggest you look at the Skoota 36 to see if that is big enough for your needs. I am also drawing a larger powercat so please email me direct at woodsdesign@gmail.com to discuss your needs further

      +Woods Designs thanks for your reply and time.. looking for one I can convert to Junk sails.

    • @WoodsDesigns
      @WoodsDesigns  Před 8 lety

      You would also need to add rudders, leeway preventers and add structure to take the increased loads. so I don't recommend converting a power cat to a sailing boat. I also don't recommend converting a monohull powerboat to a sailing boat!

      +Woods Designs stupid of me, was so into the hulls and large space didn't see it wasn't a sail boat.

    I really would like to build this beautifull dream in handlaminated foam sandwich.

    • @WoodsDesigns
      @WoodsDesigns  Před 6 lety

      Thank you for watching. The Skoota 28 has been drawn for building in plywood. But no reason why it could not be built in foam sandwich. The larger Skoota 32 is designed for foam sandwich. Please contact me by email at woodsdesigns@gmail.com to discuss it further

    What is the skill level required to build something like this?

    • @WoodsDesigns
      @WoodsDesigns  Před 6 lety

      Thank you for watching. Our Skoota looks really good, but it was built by a very skilled professional in the USA. You can build your own, several home builders are doing so. It is built with single curve sheet plywood, so about as simple wood boatbuilding as you could get.
      Or maybe, because the boat is built in sections, you could build the cockpit and central cabin, say, and a professional could build the hulls for you. I hope that answers your question. Please contact me direct at woodsdesigns@gmail.com for a more private discussion
