    No green screen, hard work, filming around the clock, all practical effects, great actors, made with passion and true heart. There is a reason why this is one of the greatest movies ever made.

      @bigtechisbigbrother8690 Před 3 lety +94

      @@jackthegreek6092 That's incorrect. Rear projection and green screen compositing are two different techniques. Rear projection is where actors are filmed in front of a screen with images projected on it, so the whole scene can be captured in-camera. Green screen (AKA chroma-key) involves filming actors or other objects on a literal green or blue screen which, when the film is developed, appears clear, so the image can then be composited onto another background in post production. And why bring up T1 when we're talking about T2?

      There are some minor flaws but nothing that detracts from the experience. That’s to be expected in such a massive undertaking. The most obvious one is the windshield falling out of the tow truck after it jumps the overpass but it reappears back in place after the cut. It wasn’t caught until after the final editing which bothered James Cameron for a long time so he had it fixed for the latest 4K transfer/release.

It may not be canon, but I think of it as T3’s judgment day being the “original” way SkyNet takes over until they send the first terminator back which accelerates Judgment Day until they fix it in T2, and Salvation just shows how John meets Kyle. The other two movies are just bad fanfiction put on screen.

    Terminator 2 officially turns 30 today!
    This is still a prime example of how sequels should be made
    James Cameron delivers one of his best films in the franchise
    Interesting how now we are 8 years away from the apocalyptic future the movie opens up on
    Incredible action, a worthy villain by Robert Patrick, lots of human depth mixing with artificial intelligence, and Linda Hamilton gives a knockout performance as Sarah Connor, she actually came up with the idea for the film with Cameron
    Edward Furlong's first role and only decent performance as John Connor, it's a shame he went off the bender for years
    The CGI effects for the T-1000 are incredible for early 90s film, actually won an Oscar for visual effects
    I'm still amazed Linda Hamilton had a twin sister this entire time
    The most expensive film made at the time and it fuled the success of Guns n Roses song You Could Be Mine
    I agree since the ending got changed it's a pick your poison kind of thing
    The movies message of hope is still relevant today; we make our own future we just have to fight for it

Hand made effects had something unique and powerful that made them authentic, real, but it was expensive and had its limits. CGI won't ever get the same power and energy, but it offered limitless creativity and a way to built a movie on an infinite scale (like Marvel movies for example).

Today there is more of green screen,vfx,digital technology etc and little or less sign of craft that can be put under arts. So much artificial elements in movies that acting,story,screenplay, lighting and set design,cinematography are being lost somewhere. Lesser and lesser human touch, expression in today's movies. Movies nowadays are comparable to vdo games. The balance is tilting towards technology. I don't like it. Technology should aid the story and not ride it. And what happened to acting? where are de niros and al pacinos of this century? Gone, I think. No actors only good looking models as actors. Where are the great story tellers,the directors !? Getting lesser and lesser.That time has gone. This century has gobbled up natural touch in movies in every department. Where are the movies heading towards? Where have all those cowboys gone !
