Can we all just agree this is the best sci-fi movie ever created?
Affirmative!
Yup
Definitely. And one of the most cohesively created movie, scene by scene. Every part of the movie connects from beginning till the end.
It's either this or Empire Strikes Back. That's if the SW movies count as sci-fi rather than fantasy; it's a tough one.
@@SalemGhassanHanna It actually does count as Sci-fi and ESB has a valid claim also to the title if you will ask me. RoTJ also is one of my considerations

The idea of making the antagonist of the first movie a protagonist was such a brilliant idea. It worked so well because of arny's popularity at the time
As the idea of making Arnold Terminantor in the first part. As I know Arnold wasn't arranged for vilian..
Completely agree. It brought out both sides of Arnie's character..."robotic" in the first, and humorous in the second. Very clever idea.
@@ukdavepianoman At the same time Arnold never forgot to perfom a robot. All his movements, gestures were apropriate for Terminator..
And in third part he returned to robotic essentiality destroying John Connor's and our dreams))..

I still love Sarah reaction when she saw the T800 thatâs the most realest acting ever
How I look when mom served me veggies....đ€Łđ€Ł
She's one of the most underrated actors ever, such an amazing performance in both T1 and T2, she was incredible in both movies, playing both the "scared deer caught in the headlights" and then in the second one playing a seasoned professional protecting her son, yet still emotionally very human and vulnerable. Amazing versatility, especially in the second movie. The entire act where she goes to Dyson's house to kill him is some of the best acting ever performed by a human being, and that's not an exaggeration at all.
Reaction would have been 1000x times more powerful if the T 800 was wearing the same glasses and outfit
@@pithikoulis I think she chose not to be in the spotlight because she didn't want all the publicity. Hell it took a lot of convincing for her to do dark fate.
@@pithikoulis At the time Linda was married to James Cameron, and pretty much ended up being pregnant after T2 finished filming. She was not interested in acting much.

The visual effects for this movie back in 1991 were excellent. Especially the arm scene where he cuts his skin off and shows his arm. It looks really good. Best Terminator movie by far.
Industrial Light & Magic did the fantastic job what the special effects for the movie Terminator 2 Judgment Day

Movies now use too much CGI and hire the lowest bidder. Might work for a kids movie or romance or comedy, but it greatly takes away the real emotion if you want to make a film that's convincing and portrays just that. T1 and T2 are great films and nobody can deny that. And that musical score. I think I just jizzed in my pants. Truly amazing in every aspect.
@@Gizamalukeix unless itâs like an âAvatar-tierâ project where you kinda have to rely heavily on CGI, most movies should have a healthy mix between practicals and CGI. Thatâs why movies like Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy stand the test of time so well
"The terminator" (1984) 100â masterpiece! "The terminator 2" (1991) 101â masterpiece!

When the first film came out, everyone wanted his handgun, which I believe was an AMT Hardballer Longslide. However, demand was so great that some dealers wanted a whopping $1,000 for one. And the laser sight? It was a prop but a few years later, technology improved and some were able to custom build one but the prices also $1,000, bringing the cost to $2k! Ouch. PS: the handguns Sarah used in T2 was NOT an AMT. I strongly believe it was a Detonics Scoremaster because of the barrel, which always sticks out about a quarter inch from the slide. Also, the slide had huge carved "channels" on the rear instead of finely cut serrations like on M1911 style handguns. I have heard of it being briefly available in a .451 Magnum cartridge! Owners said this was a bad idea because it overstressed the entire gun and made it prone to cracking.

I still remember at the Cinema watching this with my parents. The crowd was in tears and and in aw when Arnold was lowered down to the burning metal, then Arnold gave a thumbs up, the crowd laughed a bit then the CPU system screen of Arnold shuts down and it was dead silent.
I remember. I was 9. It was the biggest theater in town. It had the greatest, most effective sound system imaginable. We all went through the roof when that first Terminator crushed that child's skull in the beginning

33 years old, still has better CGI than most movies. This movie was way ahead of its time.
I don't know how I'd rank terminator 2 but it's the closest to perfection that any movie can get. The acting is great. The writing is flawless. The story is epic but contained. The CGI doesn't take you out of the movie, it actually adds to it. The pacing is fast and exciting.
Not many movies are on the same level as terminator 2
Acting was at times odd from Furlong but I can look past it as it was his first gig..
Yes I always thought the same. Its maybe the most "perfect" movie I can think of and you can watch it over and over again without it aging. It was so incredibly ahead of its time. It could just have been made. I think it will still work 100 years from now.
â@@bms77 how it is odd?
Scene 5 is my favourite. Sarah's fear is all encompassing, (brilliant acting by Linda Hamilton), and the way she had to flip her feelings from fear and resentment to trust took unbelievable strength. Dr. Silberman's realisation that she was right all along was poetic justice.
And now Arnold can say: "-Come with me, if you want to live!"
In this scene Sarah goes back to being the same scared girl on the run she was in T1. Great scene
Oh ya . Justice indeed
Except the poster fkd it up by not showing it .... Merely another 1/2 minute , shocking omission
Dr. Silberman is in the right place for it. He's going to need therapy after what he witnessed. Karma kicks butt.
that "come with me if you want to live" and the "mall corridor scene" are so well crafted, a piece of art. I get goosebumps no matter how often i watch it. Sadly they dont make movies like that anymore
No scene was wasted and such a fantastic screenplay. Arnold, other than no one could do.

The movie was made in 1991 but visual effect was awesome,, one of my best movie....
That's why the film received academy award for visual effect
Canât believe this movie was made in 1991, this movie aged so well!
The "come with me if you want to live" scene was always my favourite! The final scene where they lower the T800 into the steel was epic, but the part just before that where John is screaming "I order you not to go, I order you not to go!" was even more powerful!
That scene just make me drop tears but T800's final goodbye is the most Epic ending scene.

When i was a Child the Terminator ( Arnold ) was my Hero....Now iam 33 years old and itÂŽs still the same... Best movie of all Time :) peace from Germny

I remember watching this masterpiece in 1992, when I was only 5 years with my older cousin. I remember that I loved the robots and computers since I was a child.
My cousin always was like my mentor, my big brother even my own âterminatorâ. He always helped me with some tricky levels in computer games of Amiga 500 or MSX.
That year, 1992, on December, my cousin died in a bike accident and I carried with his legacy. I felt alone because Iâve lost that protection and his helpful skills in gaming.
Now, I am a computer administrator and recently I started a new business.
I would like to travel back to the past and avoid his death to watch together Terminator 2 remastered with all its esplendor.

I love the fact that if you grew watching the first terminator. The hallway scene looked like two terminators was going to kill Sarah Connors son then her. But that's when the twist hits you when the original one says get down, boyyyyyyyy.!!!!!I lost my mind that day in excitement bro like he protecting him. But in that realization, it should you how strong the ducking t1000 is.
I originally believed that the terminator (skeleton one) is going to kill the kid. But I found the police man to be a bit odd since he was too mean (the humans ones are kinda polite) and he was almost expressionless.

One Hollywood movie I have seen innumerable times
this film was WAY ahead of its time, the practical effects are so damn impressive like the exposed endoskeleton for example, with how limited the technology was back then they somehow managed to make everything believable that it was real
For all of the great action movies in the 90âs, this ranks one of the best. It doesnât get much better than this. It holds up still to this day
2020, and I still watching to this. Absolutely epic.
The only terminator in which they got everything right
What's wrong with the first one? đ€ ...except for the budget đ
This movie had it all, if the people behind the sequels understood it wasnt all about the effects, we cared about about the bond that builds In this film, Arnold at his peak,Linda hamilton as a psychotic badass, a revolutionary villain in Robert Patrick, and eddie furlong in his best performance which had insane special effects,( remember this was made in 1991) great chemistry, and a very emotional ending. There is no charecter development in the newer films, they are hollow, no one cares about them. James cameron was a real artist with a vision that still blows us away nearly 30 years later. I think dark fate will tank and than all should be done till they unearth 20 years later with Dwayne Johnson in his 60s, playing a T875, the thought is meant as a joke, but at this point is it too much to fathom these days
Combination of Robert Patrick, writing for him, special effects was... well, one of the kind, unmatched. They have basically overdone it, and few villains, if any, could hope to match it.
My favourite scene is Heâs Back because the scene is such an iconic moment from T2 Judgement Day and itâs one of my favourite scenes of all time I need your clothes your boots and your motorcycle
I guess they forgot how to make good movies these days
I thought Joker was pretty good

One of the greatest actions and sci-fi movies ever. But it left out one of my favorite scenes. When the pompous psychologist sees the T2 come through the bars.

I think this was the first or one of the first films to feature CGI? My eyes literally popped at the T-1000 and my heart pounded watching the heartstopping action scenes.
The cgi back in the day looks old now and 1 or 2 scenes look dated.

No one ever noticed why this is the best Sci Fi with the best CG achievement, the reason is that CG effects never seem to overcome or overwhelm the overall movie and every effect fits like a glove giving an impression as if it is real.
