That entire ride I was feeling intense need to put my WTB Wet Verdicts on my bike just to get some degree of comfort watching you ride the muck. Need full moto tires to get any purchase in that crap. What a freaking mess. Should make for interesting race.

Every venue has slightly different rules based on the local federations rules if I remember right. Some require spine protection, some don’t care short of the helmet.

At a lot postions it would have been interesting to film up the hill while anybody is riding the steps down to get a feeling how high they are.
It doesn't have to be slagged. That's ridiculous, I bet you're like a few stone heavier at the bottom.
It's like nobody ever heard of *sand* and they literally grade it for different uses, like, say drainage and stabilization needs, as well as by particle size/texture.
But good job - I saw another channel riding in a downhill trail event but the event organizers had *everyone* in each class riding at once from a starting line; several riders.
I watched in horror as the things happened exactly was you would have expected. I did rant on their video as well as congratulating them for being gracious and courteous over win at all costs when someone dumped in front of them on a turn - they literally (very experienced rider) side slid to a very fast halt and held out a hand to them (apologizing for coming so close to running them over even though it's an actual event with some sort of purse).
I expressed my terror and basically described to them what *safely* and sanely managed competitions look like, as best I could. I hope I don't get roasted too hard but I had to push hard like this (the slaggy course, I mean this isn't *cyclocross* ) on the other person's video because it's not fair to the people who actually show up to race andhave worked very hard to better themselves. They'll never get a true measure of their work if they can't be put against others on their own merits with the more ridiculous variables repaired and made safe - trials, cyclocross, et al there are whole divisions where the obstacles are part of the scoring and mud is one of the obstacles that never remains constant and it can go from being sticky and helpful to slimy and slow in minutes if it's not stabilized in whatever form its supposed to be.
