I'm not the biggest U2 fan, though my older sister is definitely a super fan and has been since teens. And one thing I can say is nothing U2 will ever do is underrated. You're either a fan and you know every one of their songs or you aren't and you know 50% of their songs. But either way the art theyve created and used to help spread massive social injustices is something to be thankful for. They'll be putting out new albums up until their deathbed.

This was, is and will forever be my favourite song EVER! I remember being 17 and listening to it for the first time...had goosebumps and cried. Same when I watched the video later. It´s just...poetry, magic and the perfect sound all combined to make your soul and heart sing ♥ Now I am 47 and U2 stayed my favourite band ♥

I'm the same age as you, but I can't say that U2 has remained my favourite band. In fact, it was all downhill after Zooropa.
They've had a handful of decent songs since then, but I can't understand how you manage to forgive them for the crap they've been
producing since All That You Can't Leave Behind? They sound nothing like they used to. I mean, they used to combine the epic with the intimate
better than anyone else. But now, it's all EPIC whether it should be or not. A bit like Coldplay doing football chants.

If U2 is currently played on the radio, it is from the Joshua Tree or War albums, etcetera. I am simply stating Zooropa & Pop are brilliant records possessing irrefutably remarkable tracks, which should be played or viewed equally as frequently in regards to "With or Without You" or "New Year's Day".

Bono's voice was at its best during this period of the band. Such a wide vocal range and he sounded more relaxed and in control of it. Zooropa is definitely in their top 3 albums for me.

Bought the CD in 93, bootleg vinyl in 2011 and the reissue in 2018. This is my favorite album of all time. The videos are still amazing and it’s so wonderful to see them in HD.

My wife loved this song...She was adopted by devilish people in the 70's, forced into the military in the 80's, but we finally met in the 90's. Most of her life she was abused by people, yet she quietly still cared and forgave...We had marriage struggles but worked them out. We loved each other madly. We had a daughter in 10/25/ 99 but by Jan.12, 2001 Mary, my wife, died from bone cancer.. She was like Jesus to me...Now she walks with Him...and the Angels...

My favourite too and I’m no means a u2 fan. But this song captures exactly the zeitgeist of my life when it came out. I was in Germany that summer, what a time and what a place. The song is focused elsewhere for obvious reasons, the personal meaning to u2, the us audience of course, but to me it captures early 90s Germany, not just the recording of video. Great times, sad, happy and hopeful with an element of fear of future and the scare of the past.

Was directed by Wim Wenders in October 1993 as a return favor for letting him use the song in his movie. The video was produced by Debbie Mason and edited by Jerry Chater. Set in Berlin, the clip stars German actress Meret Becker, whose stepfather, Otto Sander, was playing a lead role in Wenders’ film. U2 appear in the video as guardian angels who watch over a young band playing their own songs. There are also several shots of the band standing on the statue of Victoria, atop the Siegessäule monument in Berlin. A model of the statue was used for those scenes.

I would have been 13.I was just getting into music.I used to sit and watch MTV everyday before my dad got home from work and put the news on.Stay Faraway So Close used to be on a lot.It grabbed my attention.The Lyrics and how Bono was singing. My dad would describe it as "Real music son".Of course he was right. Listening back to it now, as I have a lot in the past 28 years.The lyrics are unbelievably good.That Voice to.Its one of there best songs

Who could down vote this masterpiece? ‘Stay’ has a permanent place in my top 10 U2 songs, as well as videos. The melody is almost haunting, the lyrics describing how we self-sabotage and are unable to move forward to save ourselves. ‘Dressed up, like a car crash, your wheels are turning but you’re upside down’ is the crux of the song. Brilliant. The angel on the statue always gives me Vertigo, tho. 😂💚

No hay nada que pueda decir que no se haya dicho ya. De las mejores canciones de U2. La melodía y la voz de Bono en el mejor punto, la guitarra de Edge que nunca volvió a sonar asi y solo nos regalo ese sonido en esta preciosa cancion, El grito desgarrador al decir "stay" es impresionante y pone los pelos de punta y el video impresionante.
Mi existencia sin la presencia de estos irlandeses sería otra en su totalidad.

A lot of their music since 2000 suck mostly nut this era was pretty brilliant. They peaked in the 90’s because they made interesting records. The last 2 decades have been a bit of a note compared to what they used to make
All That You Can’t Leave Behind & HTDAAB hardly sucked 2 of their greatest albums!Plus the record breaking 360 tour 09-11 i would say the the last 20 years haven’t been too bad 🤷🏼♂️😂
@@tombutler6451 those albums were pretty weak compared to achtung baby and zooropa. I really tried to like the 2000 stuff but they were just too over produced and weak. Sadly they haven’t changed their sound ever since those albums. All the albums since 2000 are pretty interchangeable
@@swamisalami3000 I loved Achtung Baby, Zooropa far less other than Stay. The band's absolute peak albums in my opinion though are The Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum, followed by The Unforgettable Fire.
