Lyrics:
Is it getting better, or do you feel the same?
Will it make it easier on you, now you got someone to blame?
You say one love, one life, when it's one need in the night.
One love, we get to share it
Leaves you baby if you don't care for it.
Did I disappoint you or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love and you want me to go without.
Well, it's too late tonight to drag the past out into the light.
We're one, but we're not the same.
We get to carry each other, carry each other... one
Have you come here for forgiveness,
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your head
Did I ask too much, more than a lot
You gave me nothing, now it's all I got.
We're one, but we're not the same.
Well, we hurt each other, then we do it again.
You say love is a temple, love a higher law
Love is a temple, love the higher law.
You ask me to enter, but then you make me crawl
And I can't be holding on to what you got, when all you got is hurt.
One love, one blood, one life, you got to do what you should.
One life with each other: sisters, brothers.
One life, but we're not the same.
We get to carry each other, carry each other.
One, one.
2024 anyone?
Is anyone listening to this song in May 2024?
The saddest part of life is when the person who gave you the most memories becomes a memory.
I was 24, living in a crummy studio apt in East Queens NYC… she was waiting in the subway cue and I remarked I liked her crimson sweater. She had an open satchel with what appeared to be college student’s papers. “Grading?” I casually asked. “I don’t speak English”, she said. “You just did” I replied. “Yeah….. Ok I’m done talking to you”, she said as she turned to board the train. I went home and put this song on the stereo. It didn’t help. Just made things worse. Then I ate a granola bar and went to bed.
Who is here to pay tribute to Samuel Paty? RIP Sir

It doesn't matter if you're into U2 or not, this song is eternal.
This is an incredible song. My husband and I divorced 15 years ago but always loved each other deeply. We stayed close and always depended on the other for certain thing. Our bond was unbearable. We divorced because a one time marital affair. I wish I could have forgiven but I didn’t. The pain was too much. This song tells us that we are ONE and will always be together. Remarried March 11, 2020. We will continue to love. But all the years we missed !
People can say whatever they want about Bono but no one can deny his talent as a songwriter. This is a masterpiece that stands the test of time. One of his many.
In memory of Samuel Paty, the middle school History-Geography teacher in France because it was one of his favourite song and it was his family who dedicated this song during the national tribute. :'(
Hommage au professeur Samuel PATY, lâchement assassiné le vendredi 16 octobre 2020 alors qu'il sortait de son collège.
More people need to listen to this song right now.
If you're watching this in 2021, I love you and you're not alone.
de la même génération que samuel paty, et nous chantions tous cette chanson autrefois, pour les mêmes raisons. nous la chanterons maintenant pour vous. votre vie a servi à quelque chose.
having my husband murdered when I was 23 and being pregnant with two babies, I have felt that my connection with him comes through with U2 music. I saw U2 in November 1987, he was killed four weeks later... its been a long, long road. If only U2 really knew how healing their music is.
As they say, the first year of marriage is the hardest. Now 54 years old. I married my wife when I was 23, her 20 many arguments and near physical fights, it was rough, but instead of giving in to the devils wishes that separate many couples, I was drawn to U2's music. Anytime I needed an escape I would just pop on the head phones and get lost in the power of their lyrics and awesome music. We toughed that year out and the rest of the years. I contribute much of my needed mellowness to U2. The wife and I brought 3 wonderful children to this world, made it over many rough patches, Im so thankful I always found peace in U2's music. I'm also glad I never left my marriage. Especially when the day of August 19-2018 came when my three sobbing children and I laid my wife/their mom to rest at age 44 from a herndious battle with cancer. U2 is legend to me.
En l’honneur du professeur d’histoire CE GRAND MONSIEUR.
Repose en paix Samuel Paty. On a tous eu le réflexe de venir écouter cette chanson sur CZcams . Que justice soit faite 🇫🇷🇨🇬
One of the greatest songs ever written.
Reposez en paix, Monsieur Le Professeur.
