    Although I love to be a one man band I ultimately opted for Kronos 2015 61 key, I just become euphoric if I hear or can design those multilayered lush and atmospheric pads, can't imagine my day without hearing them :) when I complement that with Spectrasonics omnisphere, that's when I'll stop looking around :D

    I already have a Pa3x and I LOVE IT. However one feature that I wish the Pa3x had that the KRONOS does that makes me want to get one, is set list mode. Yes I know that the new Pa4x does, but it's not the same. That only works for Songbook entries and not the entire keyboard (for lack of a better word) like the KRONOS

    Great video. Though even us "Workstation guys" would like some of those "Arranger" features. Notably (Dedicated hard of soft buttons) for transpose & octave (For when the band you sit in with does the song in a different key), more ways to incorporate articulations so those huge sample libraries sound less static. Finally, if not harmonizers, vocoders that are at least 16 band so they're useful beyond a novelty. ;)

    Question for anyone that know: The Arrangers shown had one that had the music score on the screen. Is it possible to record a piano piece and during playback you find a wrong note and can modify it right there and not have to mess with a computer and midi file software etc?? If so what model of keyboard would that be? thanks.

  • @setphaser
    @setphaser Před 10 lety

    Good idea for a video. I want a synth, that I can load certain samples onto certain keys for performance, and transposition is something I'd love. I don't need realistic grand pianos, for me it's about sound design in an old school analogue style environment. But I only have so many hands, or might want to trigger backing box, so assigning voices to parts of the keyboard or individual keys would be ideal.

    Arrangers are often used by solo entertainers, like when the couple getting married can't afford a complete band.
    These are also the instrument where you can find Arabic instruments, which are seldom implemented in a convincing way in workstations.

  • @a.barnard3205
    @a.barnard3205 Před 6 lety

    Now Rich, could you do ANOTHER video on the many different ways that CLASSIC MIDI RECORDING can be done on the PA Series.
    I've discovered ONE, so far, and that is the ability to record rubato sections on the PA600.
    However, there is NOTHING in the "Owners Manual" about the ability to record tracks with JUST drums or a "click", WITHOUT the "Auto Accompaniment" stuff or how to use the tap tempo function to set your OWN tempo, in the first place.
    With the exception of "Tap Tempo" all of the aforementioned could be done with ease on my old Casio WK-1350 Workstation Arranger.
    Stay tuned though, aside from MIDI issues, there is MORE to discuss......

  • @jr-shotsadeogun7029

    Please help my ignorance. Surely, the new arrangers are also being marketed as a workstation as well i.e The Genos and the Pax4 etc. Although, both keyboards specialise as an arranger they also have qualities to be a decent workstation as well. Quick question: Does it really matter if I purchase a workstation or arranger if all I'm looking for is the best realistic sounds of different instruments? I ask as it seems like the arranger keyboards (Genos and Pax4) have the best sounds- much more than any workstation currently. Thanks and God bless!

    2.. If tried to fi d the equivalent to Korg Kross 2 among other products (sych as Roland, Yamaha and Casio) what would they be? Is Roland FA for example the equivalent to Korg Kross 2 or is it Roland Juno?

    • @leegreveson
      @leegreveson Před 6 lety

      Bato Daesitiates At the Kross 2 price point, the Juno DS61 is about as close. Feature wise I couldn't say. The reason I opted for Kross 2 were the potential of the Combi mode for live performance, however, while the Kross 2 can play a complete wav file backing track, to get it to do so isn't a simple process, and the manual isn't very helpful. One thing they changed design wise was the integrated carry handle and two tone case, pity as they were good design and practical ideas.

    Hi guys... i am now confused between Korg pa300 and Yamaha s670.. i am a beginner to keyboards and my ultimate objective is to create mashups and compose own music and then transfer it to the DAW in my pc to record my vocals ( in my home studio) and use my DAW for mixing to get the final output. I am also keen to learn how to make karaoke tracks myself ( instead of buying them online) so that I can record cover songs as well. Which of the two keyboards would meet that requirement.

    • @a.barnard3205

      Go with an arranger because the functions that you seek are guaranteed for a "one man band" and also, they are a bit simpler to learn how to operate.

    I prefer an analogue synth and my daw to make music.because you can find more better accoustic sounds and samples in vsts! Workstations and arrangers are just better for live perf !

      problem is it's hard to transfer that sound quality from synth to the daw. majority of audio interfaces will degrade sound quality in my opinion

      @@martinkulik9466 use an UAD product.you won't notice any difference in quality. Awesome converters!

    Why did you go and discontinue the Kronos for?!?!?! Got me all excited to get the damn thing and now I can’t because you stopped making it.

    How about combining both technologies into one board!

    Yo thanks for the video very helpful! anyone got any suggestions... i've been playing the keyboard for around 5-6 years although on a very cheap begginer keyboard, i also like to borrow my brothers synthesizer... does anyone know a good affordable keyboard that would work for playing live, and recording on a computer (most likely a workstation)? it doesn't need to have a ton of sounds as i have a synthesizer too but a fair few would be nice! thanks all! :)
