Rich is great at what he does. This was very cohesive and understandable.
Excellent video, Rich!
now my confusion has elevated to the next level :(
Go for something with Drawbars
Then you get the organ sounds for worship

There is a LOT of great info here. Thanks, Rich!
Well said, Rich!
You can't go wrong with Korg. I have been using Korg Keys since 1993.
Rich your demos are why I bought my Kronos thanks man best purchase I ever made your very awesome at what you do
Excellent comparison of both technologies and styles. I had acquired the info of most of what you had explained through time but you put it all into a neat and complete perspective that was instinctively easy to understand and I still learnt something new also. Thank you.
I solved my keyboard dilemma by buying the Kronos X and the PA900. Happy, happy, happy.
hi, which keyboard out the two that you have mentioned has better sound quality in terms of individual sounds like Pianos and EPs. And to what extent is one keyboard better than the other?
Although I love to be a one man band I ultimately opted for Kronos 2015 61 key, I just become euphoric if I hear or can design those multilayered lush and atmospheric pads, can't imagine my day without hearing them :) when I complement that with Spectrasonics omnisphere, that's when I'll stop looking around :D
At last a very clear explanation!! Thank you..Very useful !
thanks for this. a very no-nonsense recap of many features and pros/cons of each kind of keyboard and not a lot of trying to pimp korg per se, which I admit I expected more of. bravo and thanks again. as a composer still wrestling with what to get, it is at least a start as I knew little about arrangers.......and stores frustratingly almost never have them in the store.

Thank you for the information, we are going to share with our users!
Always wondered. Thanks for explaining this.
Thank You So Much.. Great Information...
You are awesome in explaining the Utility
Thank you so much Rick, Your presentation on Choosing the right keyboard nailed it for me, an Arranger is what I need and I'll now be able to find the right Korg Arranger in a music store down town.
What did you decide on?
Thank you for the explanation!
Thank you... Very informative
Very helpful video, thanks.
great informational vid! thanks
U r great sir,how easily u describe...thanks korg...
Great info cheers!
Excellent info as always Ritch... I have a PA800, a KingKorg, and last but not least, a Kronos 2 88 keys... I use a little bit of everything, sometimes in conjunction... 😊
Very good , video. Thanks a lot,man.
The best video about keyboards ever!
I got M3 Xpanded but I'm saving for PA as well. I need both.
Thank you so much. This is is a great video. It is very informative and to the point. It would be a great help if you provide each application you mentioned with a practical example.
thanks for the useful information!
Thankyou very much for this video🙏😊🙏
This was genuinely useful.
i got the information what i was really looking for
great.....thank you
Very informative thank you very much
Excellent !
Great video!
I'm just realizing I've never used my Kronos at its full potential. I'm gonna have to find my manual again. I think I might try an arranger too. I'm still using my old Triton extreme this is a strong beast...still in love with it like the first time I bought it. That video was usual.
really useful video, for people who r confused with variety of keyboard models!!!
Great video!!!!!!!
Thank you! I needed a comparison. (: im currently a local singer in my community wanting to up my game wiyth a keyboard! i just needed to know the difference. THank you! thank you! thank you!'
Clears it right up!
Great Expalining!!!
Great video
Nice Video. Korg has some serious stuff released! We love to work with Korg Synthesizers and Workstations
Thank you very helpfull
This was very useful workstation synths for me :)
Thank you so much
I already have a Pa3x and I LOVE IT. However one feature that I wish the Pa3x had that the KRONOS does that makes me want to get one, is set list mode. Yes I know that the new Pa4x does, but it's not the same. That only works for Songbook entries and not the entire keyboard (for lack of a better word) like the KRONOS
Very helpful.
Great video. Though even us "Workstation guys" would like some of those "Arranger" features. Notably (Dedicated hard of soft buttons) for transpose & octave (For when the band you sit in with does the song in a different key), more ways to incorporate articulations so those huge sample libraries sound less static. Finally, if not harmonizers, vocoders that are at least 16 band so they're useful beyond a novelty. ;)
thanks much! I thought these were the same. very helpful
Thanx for you kind Info. :)
I just wish you could export the screen of the Kronos to a monitor.
I like having both then you have the best of both worlds.
Cutting right to the chase, I like it.
Very informative, thank you very much.
However, I would like to know which one of the two is better for live stage shows in a band context. I'm getting the impression that the workstation is better than the arranger, but both can pull it off?
incredible
Dis was of a truth helpful ...
nice video
my mans said a properly equipped arranger.
The absolute swagger.
Question for anyone that know: The Arrangers shown had one that had the music score on the screen. Is it possible to record a piano piece and during playback you find a wrong note and can modify it right there and not have to mess with a computer and midi file software etc?? If so what model of keyboard would that be? thanks.
Good idea for a video. I want a synth, that I can load certain samples onto certain keys for performance, and transposition is something I'd love. I don't need realistic grand pianos, for me it's about sound design in an old school analogue style environment. But I only have so many hands, or might want to trigger backing box, so assigning voices to parts of the keyboard or individual keys would be ideal.
Backing vox
Hello I wanted to know all of them have oriental Thema, thanks for your educational clips 🙏🏼
Why can't someone make one that has all the features of both
modern workstations actually have quite a bit of arranger features in them. the lines have been, and continue to get blurred.
yea. roland already did with their FA series. i own a 2011 kronos and an FA-06.
Chaplin Gean you are so right! They simply do not want to combine the both in a single one!
That would be redundant, in the now.
The only REAL difference now, is the price tag.
Absolutely right!
Let's just call them ARRANGER WORKSTATIONS!
Thank you for the info Rich, I still can can't decide to buy a workstation or Arranger because I don't have time to create my own styles and arrange songs. I don't want pay for the feautures that I won't use. I would like one that has lots of sounds and styles so I could play my songs to entertain my friends. that's all. Which Korg model will that be? I like Korg PA4, but it is too expensive it cost more than the car I drive. Looking forward for your advise. Thanks again
It's intertesting to see how far Korg has come with their workstations since the M1 and the 01/W.
What about a keyboard that is both an arranger and a workstation like the Genos? Wouldn’t that be a good choice as well? I only ask as the sounds are still equally amazing and I would like to use that to make beats via Fruityloops
great vid wish I saw this before I bought my new board.
What did you pick up?
I want a keyboard that can arrange, be a workstation, make a mug of tea, take the dog for a walk and change my engine oil too - am I being reasonable ?
then you will have no time for workstation, you make tea for her, you take her dog for walk and take her car for.....
ACleverMonkey lol
I doubt Y people like you r alive as a burden to the world??...good for nothing, useless piece is shit.
ME too
Once you get a workstation you won't have time for any of the other things. She will demand constant attention, and then steal your very soul away! :)
I've got a tyros 3 workstation but it does everything you explained on pa 600 !!!!!!
P G i have the old yamaha psr 9000 It is fun to play on and the rhythms run well, it can play wav or you can record your own voice and play with, you can also make your own sound from a small piece of wav file.
Except that you paid WAY MORE for the T-3, back in the day!
PA-600 in the NOW, is only $950!
Arrangers are often used by solo entertainers, like when the couple getting married can't afford a complete band.
These are also the instrument where you can find Arabic instruments, which are seldom implemented in a convincing way in workstations.
Now Rich, could you do ANOTHER video on the many different ways that CLASSIC MIDI RECORDING can be done on the PA Series.
I've discovered ONE, so far, and that is the ability to record rubato sections on the PA600.
However, there is NOTHING in the "Owners Manual" about the ability to record tracks with JUST drums or a "click", WITHOUT the "Auto Accompaniment" stuff or how to use the tap tempo function to set your OWN tempo, in the first place.
With the exception of "Tap Tempo" all of the aforementioned could be done with ease on my old Casio WK-1350 Workstation Arranger.
Stay tuned though, aside from MIDI issues, there is MORE to discuss......
SO DID THE KRONOS X get replaced with THE NEW KRONOS 2 or THE KRONOS LS???
Please help my ignorance. Surely, the new arrangers are also being marketed as a workstation as well i.e The Genos and the Pax4 etc. Although, both keyboards specialise as an arranger they also have qualities to be a decent workstation as well. Quick question: Does it really matter if I purchase a workstation or arranger if all I'm looking for is the best realistic sounds of different instruments? I ask as it seems like the arranger keyboards (Genos and Pax4) have the best sounds- much more than any workstation currently. Thanks and God bless!
I need an 88 key synth with weighted keys heavier in lower lighter in higher I want the features of a kronos at a lower price any recommendations?
Nice video.
What you recommend if you want to be able to voth play live (arranger with speakers built in) and create musiv via PC? As there anything like that? Is there an arranger you can use for PC studio recording and software just like you do with workstation? Something like "all-in-one"?
www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CTX700--casio-ctx700-61-key-portable-arranger
Do all workstations and arrangers have looping capabilities/pattern mode?
Korg tr 61 or pa 700 is best for creating music plzz answer plzzzz
How about Korg pa1000 sir. I am playing keyboard in a live band orchestras. Will it be useful for me. Please suggest me...
Transpose button should be available on both Workstation and Arrangers
can i change my manual bass when it's in split mode on the yamaha Pa4x?
Money, money, money, with a soft voice is basically what he's saying.
a midi keyboard can do all of this, except you have to you know, buy vsts, and a daw
How about organs? I like Yamaha Electone organs. Does Korg make something similar?
Helo.sir.so pa 600 is only an arranger keyboard and not a workstation.?
Hi Rich,
I need your advice that I can get through ansewers to the following questions:
1. Is the preset piano sound on Korg Kross 2 improved compared to Korg Kross 1? ( Also what are some other improvements in Korg Kross 2);
2.. If tried to fi d the equivalent to Korg Kross 2 among other products (sych as Roland, Yamaha and Casio) what would they be? Is Roland FA for example the equivalent to Korg Kross 2 or is it Roland Juno?
Thanx
Bato Daesitiates At the Kross 2 price point, the Juno DS61 is about as close. Feature wise I couldn't say. The reason I opted for Kross 2 were the potential of the Combi mode for live performance, however, while the Kross 2 can play a complete wav file backing track, to get it to do so isn't a simple process, and the manual isn't very helpful. One thing they changed design wise was the integrated carry handle and two tone case, pity as they were good design and practical ideas.
Fair enough... but how do you activate the hyper-drive from these consoles? Access to warp field modulation, anyone? Where are the controls for the phaser banks and how do I route energy to the main deflectors?!
Why should it be separate? Wish there was a keyboard which could do both
I need an arranger-station 😒😂
Same here. A micro-series sized one. I need a cross between the microARRANGER and the microSTATION. A...microSTRANGER.
Hell, if they throw some sampling functionality in there, they can call it microSTRANGLER.
come check out c4 beatmaker music under corey bostick
Doesn't Tyson make chicken?
CASIO MZ-X500, $1,100 is the best STEAL for the all around package.
When will you create an a real full hybrid keyboard, with both functionality... Or maybe a keyboard with some 3 iPads with software instead controllers to change between one kind of keyboard, even include an a tutorial keyboard mode like synthesia, over keys.. Or a Jupiter 80 mode also, Jeje.. Just dreaming but I should patent my idea.. Blessings from Chiapas Mexico.
Waiting for tons of high quality sounds, sound editor, sequencer and styles in one product.
YOU gonna be waiting a LONG time!
Actually though, pick up a KORG PA700.
Anybody please tell me .....what is the difference b/w korg pa600 and korg pa700
Thanks, I need the Korg Kronos 2 2015 88 keys please.
Pity you didn't release the Kross2 editor at the same time as the board, instead of making us wait at least 6 months. I'm really hoping it will make navigating the workstation a lot better experience so that I can set it up to do what your Kross2 demos claim it can.
Hi guys... i am now confused between Korg pa300 and Yamaha s670.. i am a beginner to keyboards and my ultimate objective is to create mashups and compose own music and then transfer it to the DAW in my pc to record my vocals ( in my home studio) and use my DAW for mixing to get the final output. I am also keen to learn how to make karaoke tracks myself ( instead of buying them online) so that I can record cover songs as well. Which of the two keyboards would meet that requirement.
Piyush Sharma Yamaha
I need a workstations but arranger at same time....what do you recommend??
Necesito un workstation pero que también lo pueda usar como arranger....qué me recomiendan??
Xavier Fernando Calle Peña Yamaha Genos
Trying to decide which to get. I'm a singer/songwriter (which the arranger seems geared towards) who wants to experiment with sounds. Seems like the arranger is especially useful for creating that "one-man band," but doesn't the workstation have a lot of those functions also?
Go with an arranger because the functions that you seek are guaranteed for a "one man band" and also, they are a bit simpler to learn how to operate.
Here's a little snippet I did on an arranger:

What is latest to Korg krome ex
I prefer an analogue synth and my daw to make music.because you can find more better accoustic sounds and samples in vsts! Workstations and arrangers are just better for live perf !
problem is it's hard to transfer that sound quality from synth to the daw. majority of audio interfaces will degrade sound quality in my opinion
@@martinkulik9466 use an UAD product.you won't notice any difference in quality. Awesome converters!
Why did you go and discontinue the Kronos for?!?!?! Got me all excited to get the damn thing and now I can’t because you stopped making it.
How about combining both technologies into one board!
Genos and Pax4?
How about adding the price of both and paying the total😂
Yo thanks for the video very helpful! anyone got any suggestions... i've been playing the keyboard for around 5-6 years although on a very cheap begginer keyboard, i also like to borrow my brothers synthesizer... does anyone know a good affordable keyboard that would work for playing live, and recording on a computer (most likely a workstation)? it doesn't need to have a ton of sounds as i have a synthesizer too but a fair few would be nice! thanks all! :)
Try this!
