- In this video I talk about if rivals 2 could rival smash bros competitive scene. obviously, rivals will never take down casual smash because you're competing with Nintendo IP lol.

No one hates their fans more than Nintendo. As someone who cares about competition and good netplay, it looks like Rivals 2 has already surpassed Smash Brothers.

As someone who got into the rivals 1 because of the art style, I really hated the way rivals 2 looked. After watching some gameplay I grew to love both art styles and can’t wait for this game.
Switching video editing software over to Premiere. It's been difficult to learn coming from Vegas, but I think this will make the video editing process a lot more efficient in the long run. More soon

There's a video I saw last year, highlighting how the "Original" cast of rivals were designed with a Unique Central Mechanic that complements their entire moveset (Zetterburn's Fire, Absa's Cloud, Elliana's Mech, etc...).
I'm interested in learning more about Rivals 2 and how the characters play.

I dont like to think of it a smash "killer". It's more like a lifeboat, saving the melee community from the community-killing flood caused by nintendo. We can now rest easy, with the safety of our tournaments assured.

now when we talk smash theirs ultimate and melee. melee will never ever die. it just can’t be replicated. ultimate on the other hand competitively isn’t as interesting as melee so having a game like rivals 2 that is much deeper and faster than ultimate, could definitely kill it. not to mention it’s on multiple platforms and has WAY better net play.

What do you mean the best experience for a non smash plat fighter ? Isn't it straight up the best, the beta already felt better than ultimate, and ultimate's my game of heart.
Or maybe you're referring to the fact that the scene/amount of player won't be as big as smash ? But considering there's the rival accademy discord and that smash tournaments will probably put this as a secondary event a lot I don't see how this would be a problem.
I feel like it's very hard to recreate the feeling of playing smash with your friends/ family at a party and everyone having a great time... BUT rivals can still do a decent job on that front while being a much better competitive alternative to smash, considering the many questionable competitive game design choices in smash. Rivals having great dev support and actually listening to their community can definitely bring a large audience, especially since Nintendo actively shoots themselves in the foot multiple times when it comes to their community.
It's actually pretty to recreate that feeling in Rivals. All you need to do is load up into a free-for-all and make sure everyone is playing Kragg.

Smash ultimates competitive scene is also a joke infrastructure wise and it is also now quite hard to find online matches in some countries
Brawlhalla did not kill smash, it just broght in a whole new audience to the market that smash was not hitting while smash was slowly but surely dying. Brawlhalla is insanely successful and makes a shit ton of money on a F2P live service game. Smash is a one time purchase of about $50 with the added cost of a switch which can be another $300, not to mention a monthly payment for online. Brawlhalla is just more accessible in general, which is why it has so many players.
Brawlhalla didn’t kill anything lol that scene has a decent following but it doesn’t scale as high as smash majors.
