- "Waiting for the Moon" - an original song written in July 1996, while I was staying with a family in Barcelona (though I think I was at their cottage in Matadepera when I wrote this song).
I'm feeling really raw tonight, pretty much gutted. I had actually already planned to play this song, but it seems even more appropriate now. I cried off all my makeup and this is what's left. I guess it works. I decided I still wanted to get a video done, and not get further behind! Like everything else that has to do with my music, this is a snapshot.
I'm playing my Enya EUP-X1 pineapple soprano travel ukulele.
General project notes:
I'm sharing 100 #ukulele #practice sessions as 100 posts in 100 days, for the #100DaysUke2024 #challenge. I'm a new player (starting 11 February 2024), but I also play guitar, so skill transfer is a thing. đ Also, it's practice, not perfect at all. đ€Ł The point is, here's proof I've been practicing!

Lyrics:
Waiting for the Moon
Once upon a dream I had
I fell in love with you
And now I feel an emptiness
Inside my heart for you
And if the chance to know you well
Presents itself to me
I promise not to do you wrong
If you will stay with me
And when the sun lights up the sky
I try to see the stars
I am waiting for the moon
To tell me where you are
And though the light shines on my face
I feel left in the dark
I have shot an arrow
That has missed its mark
Cho:
Once upon a dream I had
I fell in love with you
And now I feel an emptiness
Inside my heart for you
