Random song stuff finally happening! Currently, most of my videos will be of me practicing my original songs on ukulele, for #100DaysUke2024 (I decided to do this group challenge with originals to make me record them).

A Different Game - #100DaysUke2024 - Day 87/100
"A Different Game" - an original song written in November of 2007. This song is about getting canceled on for a date so the guy could play a role-playing game all day with his friends instead. I was super annoyed, and wrote this song. However, I did still date him for another month or so, I guess. He eventually went back to his controlling ex anyway, and years later contacted me to tell me that he thought he'd made a mistake. 🤣 I just wrote a song about that, too, since it came to mind. That will be next! I'll add a link here once it's up.

Oh thank you so much! My subject also really liked it hehe. The hair is actually a wig - I love it though. I re-dyed my hair and it is roughly that color, but it's so thin that it's difficult for me to make it look good if I haven't just washed it. So I have a couple of wigs I like to use for online stuff. 😉

Oh, thank you so much, Autumn! ❤ I was thinking I would most likely go back to guitar for this one come on since it has a deeper sound, but you have made a verrrry intriguing suggestion. 🤔 Actually, since I heard your lyre song in February, I've been thinking about getting one. I've got a beginner lyre in my Amazon wishlist. 😅 I haven't done a lot of investigation regarding how to learn to play one, but I'm sure there is information out there. I'm playing ukulele so much right now (because of the challenge) that I am probably going to order a solid wood ukulele next. I do want a lyre though - I just have to figure out which one to get. I wish my dad was further along getting back into luthier stuff - if he had his shop set up and had already made a couple of things, I would just ask him to make me one. 😂 He was setting up, but he's got baby chicks to take care of that he got this week so he's a bit busy with that (and omg they're so cuuuuuute and fuzzy). Maybe a new instrument would help me figure out the music for the third selkie song though. Haha. I'm stuck because I don't have a refrain or chorus, just all the verses, and I can't decide what it should sound like...
Yes, this sounds like a rock song, even when I play it on ukulele. 😅 I do plan to play it at SCA events, but I will do picking throughout the whole thing. I'll have to experiment with it.
