- "Don't Forget" - an original song written in October 2000. I wrote it on guitar and it's in my muscle memory on that instrument (I've played it a LOT). I was not prepared for how difficult it would be to get the chord progression for the interludes and verses down on ukulele! I guess I must have practiced it quite a bit on guitar before being able to play it really smoothly without concentrating really hard. 😅 Anyway, my high school best friend always referred to this one as "The Salad Song," because of my mention of salad in the chorus. 🤣
I'm playing my new Enya EUC-MAD again. 💙
General project notes:
I'm sharing 100 #ukulele #practice sessions as 100 posts in 100 days, for the #100DaysUke2024 #challenge. I'm a new player (starting 11 February 2024), but I also play guitar, so skill transfer is a thing. 😜 Also, it's practice, not perfect at all. 🤣 The point is, here's proof I've been practicing!

Lyrics:
Don't Forget
The back door’s swinging as I run outside
I find a smile and I wear it wide
It covers all I care to hide
So do you see that I'm not satisfied
Well the rain it falls with no remorse
And the river runs another course
What do you do when life feels like divorce
Treat the symptoms or seek the source
I don’t think I need to tell you that it’s hard for me to see you
Eating salad at that open-air cafe with someone new
That’s where you took me when you told me that you loved me
And you said you wanted children
I'm the fool - I don’t forget as well as you
Well part of me wants to howl and cry
Tell your girl that all you do is lie
And hurt you, hurt you, fists would fly
I'll probably just walk on by
Cho:
And it kills me just to think
That you’ve been with her all this time
Is she so much better baby
Does her touch stir you like mine did
Cho: (2x)
