these jobs that you mentioned is not paying a livable wage. They pay $12 to $18 per hour and they don’t give you enough time.
You will not survive working 40 hours a week with these pay. You will be a working homeless like me.
The majority of these companies are owned and run by greedy boomers who think that you are lazy and not trying hard enough even working your life away.
It’s really BS that they can increase the rent and price of gas and food in a blink of an eye. And our salary is not keeping up.
Then you are blamed for being poor and lazy even having a job. While the corporations lay off half of its workers and reports record profits.
I got lucky i guess. I work in a machine shop with all dudes. No drama. Talk shit all day. Make decent pay with overtime occasionally. Single for 12 years, cheap rent, live cheaply as well. I keep it simple so my life stays easy.
Bro every job I’ve ever had where it was male dominated was so much fun even if it wasn’t paid well and every job where there was mostly women was the most toxic environment I’ve ever been in. I work in a phlebotomy clinic where I’m one of 2 guys after being fired from Amazon because of stupid girl drama. It’s a nice workplace but the drama… help
Bro at Amazon it was already hell enough but then i started dating this girl. First ever gf. Biggest mistake of my life. These two other girls lied to her and said I cheated on her with these two and got one pregnant and convinced her to cheat and file a police report for harassment. Thankfully I got fired before that could go through
Yea when women are high enough in numbers at a workplace, everything turns into a dram filled reality show. They all try to avoid doing work, talk shit about each other, try to get the men to do everything or just flat out create fake sexual harassment charges.
Where I work there is none of that because the place would go out of business. We have to work hard and get shit done or we will lose customers and possible bonus checks.
Why do they think that a 25 cent raise is not horribly disrespectful

Same here... retail jobs and a urgent care jobs after college. most places including McDonalds refused because they wanted 5 years of work experience. There's a lot of jobs open but when you apply to them you either don't get any response or they make you run thru 3 or 4 hoops before you get the interview.
And then you get ghosted after the interview

I have a grocery store in my town that never had self checkout…a couple years ago they putnin slef checkout, like 8 of them. It lasted maybe 6 months to a year and now they never turn them on anymore. I asked an employee why, but I already knew the answer; people been stealing ALOT! So back to regular checkouts with an actual employee.
Self checkout is a great way to save on groceries. If they catch you, just say “oops! I thought I scanned that!” 😁👍

Dude 100-150 bucks per week just to feed myself. Nothing even that fancy and only eat out once a week. And yeah I’m always fantasizing about quitting at work because it’s just a toxic and crappy place that doesn’t pay enough. I’ve had tons of other jobs and also hated them so I feel like there is no escape.

Lol. Funny how working fast casual food the environment doesnt feel so negative as it did in engineering. At least in the aerospace company i worked for it felt toxic and discriminatory. At chipotle people are more reasonable

10:50 oh yeah, I’ve already heard about it from a mainstream news outlet. Retailers are definitely going to be ordering less brands. They claimed that it’s because shoppers are more willing to buy when they have less options to choose from, but it’s probably because retailers are looking to spend less on items that don’t sell as well as others.
off brand or store brand is going to be the gold standard in food in the near future
I have come to the conclusion that my only hope at this point is to find a hobby that I can enjoy and turn it into slightly profitable work. 😊

To me the real problem is that you have to have wait it out for a minimum wage work to find a better job, when I worked my job at a movie theater years back I literally had to stand for hours as the ticket clipper dude, they wouldn't even let me sit. They didn't have a seat XD
I had a notepad with me just writing shit because there was literally nothing happening on me free time and eventually they told me, "Oh you are on your notepad, all the time, so you are not really doing the job," and in the back of my mind I felt a sense of guilt, but I should've just been like "Oh there's no one here, so why does it matter?" it's less busy, so in essence whenever you don't follow their shitty standards of work they use that to try to make you feel bad that you aren't actually "keeping up", when in the back of your mind you are just using your time better, than they perceive.

It's a good point (#2) about the office being empty with only one person remaining. Those people who used to sit around you didn't voluntarily leave for better opportunities. They were fired. And now you have to pick up the slack. And when you don't, you get written up for "not being a team player." Well, where's the rest of the team?
