Brought back some memories, the elivated motorway overlooking lake Geneva, I lived in Verbier for 2 years and did that road at least twice a day to Geneva and back, some beautiful memories of driving along there looking out over the lake. Some bad ones too like sitting for 5 hours on the motorway when a truck hit the bridge in 2017 or trying to cope with the motorshow traffic at the airport....
Yes, this highway view is amazing! but as you say, the traffic can somtimes be horrible. Oh no, I remember that also, luckily we weren't on the road that day ;)

Hi! Just discovered your channel as im planning to move there soon. My jeep sits at about 7 ft - would I have issues fitting into parking structures?
Hi, depends on the parking. Would recommend checking properly before entering one as some are as low as 1m90 (6,23 ft) sometimes.

Mountains and humans come a long way. Wherever you are in Switzerland, the majestic view of a Swiss mountain or the Alps lures you in a special kind of way. Problems forgotten, expenses you made for the trip set aside, you are enthralled and you just keep looking at it until you have your fill. This must be the "no drama" part ;-)

Are there any off road tracks that are legal to drive?.
Off-road not really, there are some nice tracks around the mountains that are accessible during summer time.
스위스 물가가 비싸지만 풍광이 너무 좋아 꼭 가야 할 곳이에요. 특히 사랑의 불시착에 나온 룽게른.. 팁이라면 라우터브루넨에 가면 다들 Jungfrau캠핑장에 가지만 비싸요. 대신 쉴트호른올라가는 케이블카타는 곳으로 가면 Rutti라는 캠핑장이 저렴하고 한적하니 좋아요. 루체른도 호수가에 2시간짜리 무료 주차장도 있구요.. 출발전에 구글링잘하면 무료나 저렴한 한 곳 많아요...

Thanks! Yes sure, tolls are only for the highway in Switzerland, so just don't enter the highway.

Highways are green and others non-toll roads have blue or white signs.

I was wondering what the cost for a ski lift ticket was or a four-star hotel or a dinner for four at a four-star restaurant or a plane ticket to and from the United States
You can certainly find all this online but a day skiing in large resort is about 80chf, regular restaurant for 4 without alcohol about 150chf, and flights from US it's easy to search on internet

I havent watched the vid yet, but im sure i will, visit it, atleast cuz theres night clubs allowed to visit from the age of 16, (and im soon 16) its all very expensive, i know, but with good money spare i can manage to go there for like 3 days, with all that money that i have by now but its not a problem, ill start a payed internship from September so in a couple month ill have even more money that i had before the tour, i have in euro, of course what i mentioned before is not the only thing why i want there, but otherwise i would never pick such a expensive tour while living surrounded by countries like austria or italy with beautiful landscaping and mountains and much cheaper prices, or would i? I was multiple times in italy, and lived in Austria, even if now not, im bored already, i went to lots of cities in Austria and want to try something new, i was never in swiss earlier but ill try to do it alone, with limited budget, i think i might manage it, wish me luck)

I would definitely love to visit. The cost of traveling on the roads is not bad, fuel is a little expensive, food is expensive alright! But, i don't mind paying for quality either. I would probably prefer to buy from the small local places too, support the local producers. Do any of the farms offer overnight parking? Seems like it might be a nice little earner, especially if they had a cafe where they could sell breakfast and tea/coffee :) For me, it is as much about meeting the locals as the places.
Thanks! Markets in villages are also a good place to find local food producers and enjoy time with locals. It isn't that common in Switzerland to ask to stay on private land but it's always a good idea to ask, especially in a "restaurant d'alpage" (restaurant in the mountains) for example. Some of them are registrered as guest houses.
@@offtrackfamily Thanks for the info. Everywhere is different of course. For example, in the UK in Scotland wild camping is basically fine, even encouraged, almost anywhere, yet in England you have to be quite careful where you camp. But, there are lots of small farm restaurants, shops, and guesthouses which are usually happy to allow you to park overnight if you are having a meal there or buying some of their produce.
Hello, So frankly to summarize a road trip in Switzerland is surely the plaus bad idea, I even think that it is the worst country for that, I am Swiss and I much prefer to go abroad, France Italy etc ... without talk about money, all roads are prohibited apart from the main road in Ticino the bivouac is prohibited and in the Grisons also it is a natural park, the speed limits are horrible, to cross bienne for example we arrive at 80km / h then it's 60km / h after 50km / h then 30km / h we go back to 50, then 20km / h we go back to 40 then 30 and 50 before leaving the city. it is unmanageable and it costs so much the radars and they are everywhere. the blue zones become almost non-existent and are replaced by parking meters everywhere. not to mention the prices the welcome is less and less good, when you know the price it is still the height ... from my point of view I really cannot advise you on a road trip in Switzerland, there is has beautiful things but you have to sleep either at the campsite or at the hotel, if not finding a place to sleep in a bivouc is the combat route. Thanks for your message! Yes we already said it, Switzerland isn't the best country for overlanding or free camping, not even talking about going off-road here. But as we live here and enjoy going outdoors we do our best to make it possible, especially with all the decisions taken by authorities and also surrounding countries. We live in a beautiful country and it's a little frustrating we can't enjoy it as much as we would like to because of all the prohibited roads. This video is there for all the requests I receive by email or dm, to help anyone organise their road trip the best way possible.

I'm always amazed how much food costs in Switzerland. Grocery store's or the government definitely mark up prices. Import can't never be that expensive. They are dead center in Europe between all food producing countries like Italy and France. Also above Germany who've the cheapest grocery store's of all of Europe. I would be so mad living in Switzerland and paying those prices for food.
Many products are expensive and this is why many CH people go food shopping in surrounding countries when living not too far from a border.
