- Lucerne has been voted the MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY in Switzerland and for very good reason. Set right on Lake Lucerne, this city has the most spectacular buildings that are filled with elaborate murals and let's not forget the iconic chapel bridge with flowers across the river. One of the best day hikes in Switzerland is only 40 minutes away called Stoos Ridge Hike. Here you take the stoosbahn which is the steepest funicular in the world with a 110% grade. This Stoos hike has some of the best views in all of Switzerland and can be done in a couple hours. Another iconic thing to do is ride up to Mount Pilatus which is a 360 degree view looking over Lucerne. The weather was bad so we opted out of this but can't wait to go back

I remember the covered bridge in Lucerne. It is unique. I never made it up to the elevated mountain hike. Next time. Try the lake cruise all day get way to Italy. It is just breathtaking. Thanks for the treat of your visit. Brown Swiss cows are so gentle.

If you’re in Eastern Europe: Bay of Kotor boat tours are great! And find your way through the window on the path above Kotor. Also called the ladder. It’s hard to find, but fun to search for it!😮

Yeap... I live somewhere along that lake and I think this region is way underrated (luckily for us, wouldn't want it any other way - I'm always glad when people go to Interlaken instead 😂).
Luzern, Pilatus And Titlis are super touristy (and expensive, but for good reason) but there's so many gems in that area. Esp the far end of the lake is absolutely spectacular, as are most hikes on the mountains surrounding it. The ridge hike you've been on is also one of my favorites and trust me, it gets a whole lot busier than what you saw there. You're also lucky the sun was not all out - it can get really hot 🔥
Mind you, we have quite a few ski resorts in the area incl the one where you did the ridge hike.

This trail is amazing. I went in september and I got clear sky. The best hiking I have done so far, however I didn't think it was easy/moderate. It is very tough hiking with all the stairs going up and down along the way. Be prepared.

To be honest I know a lot of people were gonna say something 🤣 It was our first time ever experiencing one and decided to roll with the pronunciation but it’s definitely Funicular!!

The bug was an earwig. Hate the name but they are harmless to humans. Can be bad for your produce though. The do however eat some aphids so in some cases they help protect crops. The more you know__--==== :)
