  • The Atomstack M50 adds some great useful features while improving on the 5.5 watt laser module technology. In this video I'll do my usual tech breakdown, talking about the technology of the laser and explaining some of the features that help differentiate it from intro models. I'll also work on some laser projects to give you ideas while testing everything from engraving to cutting performance. I'm excited to intro a cool geek project which can help for organizing electronics or anything small that you may want to organize.
    The overall summary of the Atomstack M50 itself surprised me. Laser engravers usually have beginner models that don't feature endstops or an Estop, however I found those features to be beginner friendly. Every laser engraver should have those..they prolong the life of the device, make it easier to use, and safer. I show examples of how these work and give demos for those that may be looking to buy a laser engraver.

    Thank you for the video. Would you recommend this machine to also cut thin veneers (thickness 0.5 / 0.6 mm)?

      I’d probably recommend a 10watt like the xTool or the Wainlux Jl7 (that review is coming soon…I’m very impressed with it). After using 10 watts I realize that even if a 5.5watt can cut it, you can go SO much faster with a 10watt, and many are coming out for not a ton more than the 5.5s. I’d also recommend an air assist if you’re doing a lot of cutting…you’ll get cleaner faster and safer cuts.
      For this machine engraving is great and cutting if you’re not doing it a ton is good, but nowadays the 10watt os where it’s at.

      Congrats!!! Are you on Facebook? If so I’d join “den of lasers”. They have great tutorials. Also I’m working on some but backlogged on stuff due to a move but it’ll be coming soon!

    Very informative video thankyou. I realise from what you've mentioned here that it doesn't need to be continually plugged in to a computer, but can you tell me if this laser is compatible with lightburn. Thankyou.

    • @geektoolkit
      @geektoolkit  Před rokem

      yes! Absolutely compatable with lightburn! You can use it directly to control it, or you can use lightburn to make Gcode and then put that on an SD card and this will work with that.

    Thank you for your excellent video. Recently I have got a ATOMSTACK A10 PRO (my first laser engraver). I am very confused, and scared to use it. I would really appreciate if you could please make few video tutorials for the beginner. Thank you again.
