  • This is an in-depth case study of an Australian government agency undergoing an organizational transformation, using design.
I was hired as the in-house design lead and manager. The case touches on the initial design research of clients and subsequently developing products and services based on this research. However on the way to designing new services, challenges of communication and change management as well as capability building within the organization became critical.
The case will talk about the impact of organizational culture as well as measuring effectiveness of services (value). Most importantly, using the Bjorklund et al (2020) framework of the depth and width of design in organizations, it highlights the design scaffolds required that touch on the interplay between the various facets. This case highlights lessons learned when creating sustainable enterprises.
