The specs are one thing for the Yamaha, but the fit/finish/reliability/resale Yamaha is at the top. All these are crazy expensive, so my money is going with the Yamaha . The Can-Am has no armrest and the seats are nearly touching, so rider and passenger will be hitting shoulders. The RMax has a center dash and console/armrest closer to a civic.

RMax, then a draw between the General and the Commander. I’m just not a fan of Can Am’s 4wd system. I like the cvt best on the Yamaha. I’d put the Commander as number 2 if not for the visco lock. All things considered, I think they are all pretty good machines. Just comes down to what you want to do with them. BTW, the bed extenders on the Commander are a really cool feature.

Good video on the specs of the machine. But there is a lot more you should consider. Comfort, convenience, noise, heat, sitting position, build quality, throttle response, clutch feel, driver input for steering and braking. Then there is value for your money. I know this video wasn’t meant for all that, hopefully we can get a comparison video that will cover all those bases. One of the biggest things that I’m noticing with the Can Am is that it is built off the Maverick chassis. The seating position may be the same and that would make it wayyyy more sporty feeling than the other 2. That would be a game changer for some, because you would have a sport bike with a bed! In comparison the RZR S seating position is way lower than the General. Thanks!

I recently bought an RMAX2 LE that replaced my 2014 Commander Max. The fact that I couldn't get a Commander XTP for three months (or even find one to sit in) had a lot to do with it. I like the RMAX, except for one thing, and it's a big one for me. I am a disabled Vet with some knee issues, and the RMAX has zero room beside the brake pedal for me to slide my foot deeper into the footwell and stretch my leg from time to time. It becomes so painful for me that I eventually just have to pull over and stretch my legs. I also have a KRX-1000 and that has sufficient room for me to stretch my leg out all the way, and it makes ALL the difference. I wish the RMAX cargo box was bigger, but on the other hand I do appreciate its relatively short length compared to the Commander, so that's a trade-off I was willing to make.

I was surprised when I was looking for a new Utility vehicle. I thought I’d buy a Honda 1000 without question, but when I sat in it I found it to have a very poor driver seating area with not enough leg room and NO storage.
I then looked at the Yamaha Wolverine and it had even less room. I liked the Can Am Defender XT but it didn’t have a great leg room either.
I really liked the storage in the Can Am. My wife said she would need running boards because it was too high to easily climb in.
Lastly I looked at the Polaris Ranger 1000XT and found it to be the roomiest and most comfortable and bought it on the spot. I’m 73 years old so what suits my needs may be totally different than other buyers.

The thing about can am...the XT comes in camo which is a huge plus for me but no diff lock unless you get the XTP.
RMAX no camo but locking diff. The xtr version isn't worth the extra money..as it's just a winch. Back lit buttons and a tablet that is waaaaay over priced. So I'd go base RMAX and get the D mode switch and a winch.
Polaris.. like em but to unreliable.
I am In the same boat as you but only between the commander and the RMAX.
I want camo cuz it doesnt scratch but I also want a lockable diff. Can am offers it for an extra 2k but then you're way above price.
Personally I'm leaning RMAX base, comes with a roof and a lockable diff so for an extra let's say 800 for a winch an D mode switch you basically have the same features as an XTP commander for a 3 to 4k savings. In theory. Just my thought.

I’m pretty sure it’s quieter than the other machines also. You also don’t get that stupid shoulder bolster that Yamaha has and it’s easier to change a belt on the trail if you had to. With Polaris and CanAm you absolutely will have to eventually change a belt. With Yamaha you absolutely won’t. If you like rock crawling the others don’t have the travel numbers t to compete with the Rmax. It does things full sport machines do. The drive modes and engine braking of the Rmax make it the most controllable enjoyable side by side built to drive and you feel like your in an actual truck instead of a cheap side by side.
Polaris and CanAm are kicking Yamahas but on accessories however. They all have pros and cons for sure.

I like the Commander a lot and they really made some improvements from the previous model. Hopefully I can test drive one soon. Thanks for watching!

Rmax is far better built more rugged an capable for those of us who are life long drivers/riders. Can am does a good job of hyping up from factory but between Polaris and can am I've honestly seen way to many machines being towed home they're decent machines don't get me wrong but spending that kinda cash they're not reliable enough from what I've seen. Imagine being way out in the mountains alone and the machine goes into limp mode, or you cook the belt outta no where that's bullshit bcuz you're literally stuck there. Anything mechanical will have issues/need work but building alittle heavier with better materials not plastic well there's no amount of denial or shit talk making up for it

    2 seats 💺 it’s very nice 👍 look great and I liked :)
4 seats 💺 it’s kinda cheating worthless or little useless :( kind off :|
Who design with 4 seats 💺 must be a lonely no kids only dog 🐩 or a cat 🐈 :( LOL or don’t go with the kids:)
let’s just say you get for passenger where are you going to put a water 💦 cooler or food 🥘?
I guess they were thinking something else not supposed to think when they design :( this Side-By-Side LOL
