  • Upgrading the Living World Eco Habitat Cage
I have had this cage for a couple of years now and what is so annoying is the ventilation holes are half way up the side so it restricts how high you can go with bedding etc. I don't know why they aren't at the top.
So, enough was enough and I decided to do something about it. If you have a drill this should cost you £20 or less to do.
    **DISCLAIMER/WARNING**
Tensol 12 comes with certain warnings, see attached safety sheet:
    www.edplastics...
Most of these warnings are for when you are storing, using or, disposal of the glue and not when it has cured. I discussed the use of Tensol 12 with many hamster owners and weighed up all the risks and due to the way I went about gluing this, i.e. at no time should a hamster come in contact with the glue whether wet or dried, I feel there is minimal risk to my hamsters, providing they do not chew through the polycarbonate sheet to where the dry/cured glue is. Even if they did this, there should be a minimal risk to them and I would be more worried that they had swallowed clumps of polycarbonate when chewing. However, if they did this, as a precaution, I would remove them ASAP and just replace the whole sides with new polycarbonate sheets.
You are fully responsible for doing your own research in using Tensol 12 and deciding if it is safe for you and your hamster(s). I would not recommend using Tensol 12 if your hamster is a chewer, but if your hamster is a chewer I would not recommend this cage for them anyway.

My measurements were 100mm x 534mm and you will need 2 pieces if doing both sides.
    Where I bought the Tensol 12 £7.49:

Hope you find this helpful and please do let me know in the comments if you end up doing this to your cage too.
    Thanks for watching
